  YouTube Plugin
Posted by: whurlston - 2011-11-18, 06:50 AM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (645)

Version 1.0.6.3 released (This version requires NextPVR 2.3.6 or higher)

Installation:

  1. Close all NextPVR processes.
  2. Unzip the file to your NextPVR data folder.
  3. Restart the NextPVR recording service.
  4. Start NextPVR.
  5. Go to Settings/Plugins and enable the "YouTube" plugin.
  6. Restart NextPVR.

Usage:
  1. Select the YouTube plugin from the main menu. (It may take a few seconds to start depending on your internet connection.)
  2. The default list is the "Most Recent" videos.
  3. Select the feed category you want from the top (hidden) menu by clicking "Feeds" and selecting the feed from the popup and then select a video list from that particular category.
  4. Authors, Searches and Custom Urls will only appear in the feed categories if you have entries for those categories.
  5. Play a video by selecting it.
  6. If your default list is set to Authors, CustomUrls, or Searches, the default feed will be the first in the corresponding list. If there are no entries in your default list, it will revert back to the default of Videos->"Most Recent".
  7. Settings are applied when starting the plugin so you do not need to exit NextPVR for them to take effect. Simply exit to the main menu, adjust settings in the plugin settings screen and reselect the plugin from the main menu.

Settings Screen:
  • You do not need to change anything in the settings screen to use the plugin. All defaults will be applied on first use.
  • To add Searchs, Authors or Custom URLs, just enter the values in the text fields and press "Add". Make sure to use the "v=2" parameter for custom urls.
  • To delete Searchs, Authors or Custom URLs, select it from the list and press "Remove".
  • To Sort Searchs, Authors or Custom URLs, click on an entry in the list, drag it to the position you want and drop it.

Keyboard/Remote Commands:
  1. Press "Stop" to toggle the list sort between the default and alphabetical
  2. Press "Play" to toggle through the default stream format (PC only).
  3. Press "Record" to toggle through the default stream quality.

Known limitations/bugs:
  1. NMT (ffmpeg) functionality has not been tested with this version. It may be broken.
  2. PC clients will only check for feeds of the configured default stream type.
  3. If you select a video for playback and select it a second time before the video starts playing, it will play two copies almost simultaneously. You will only be able to stop one copy and you will continue to hear the audio of the second playback but you will not be able to stop it. You will need to let it finish or restart NextPVR.
  4. My skinning abilities.

  problems with skipping commercials
Posted by: _Iz- - 2011-11-18, 04:00 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

OK, this one is new to me, it just started after applying cumulative patch r2 for v2.2.6 (still exists with final patch).

when I play a recording it skips the commercials nicely, then instead of stopping at the end of the show it skips back and plays the last show segment again. always. with every recording.

Win TV HVR-2250 IR support question
Posted by: frankmaur - 2011-11-18, 12:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

In the NPVR wiki under Hardware/hauppauge 45 button remote/configuration, details are given for configuration of the Hauppauge remote. I followed the instructions and all the button presses work fine for controlling NPVR functions except I'm unable to open the nPVR application by pressing the Green Power button. I think it has something to do with the final lines to be added (Start the NPVR GUI using the GRNPOWER button):

[Default]
GRNPOWER={run(C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NextPVR.exe)}

Where should these lines be added and should anything else be removed?

  SmartTV
Posted by: gms - 2011-11-16, 09:04 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (25)

My NPVR machine doesn't have enough grunt to play HD .ts files (90+% cpu) without severe stutter. However, my Samsung SmartTV
apparently has a much more efficient processor & can play any media file on my home network without difficulty. I've been scheduling recordings through NPVR & playing them back through the TV's processor. Unfortunately, the tv playback system doesn't have some must-have features like the ability to fast forward through commercials & resume at any point in the video.

Is there a way within NPVR to send the ts stream directly to the tv to be decoded there rather than on the PC? Probably not, but I'd hate to not ask & be wrong.

  Recordings Import Problem
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2011-11-16, 01:39 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (19)

All my recordings made before mid August 2011 listed in “event_details” in the NPVR database have lost their original XML format. That date was when I setup my new NPVR server and imported my old recordings. As a test I have just Exported then Imported a single recording and the original XML formatting has gone. This does not seem to be a problem at all for NPVR unless you are running a script which uses the formatting like:-

FOR /F “tokens=3 delims=<>” ..........

My script dumped the contents of “event_details” to a text file then used the command to extract <details> to another file to help detect duplicate recordings. Unfortunately as all the “Carriage Returns” between each XML item are missing for older recordings it now appears all on one line for those so “tokens=3” no longer selects the correct text.

This wont be a problem for most File Rename scripts as they work on New files. I don’t know if NScriptHelper.exe uses the same method to detect “Title” etc. Last night my son in just a few minutes wrote a PHP script to print out a list of my duplicate recordings and that was not affected by the missing formatting.

Where and how are plugin settings done now?
Posted by: psycik - 2011-11-16, 04:47 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (5)

Title says it all. For some plugin specific settings, what's the preferred method of a, reading and writing them, and b, where are they put? With the plugin, or in the config.xml.

In the old days it was in the config.xml. And do they get reloaded automagically on change as there's no config app any more, and i know sub was toying with the idea of a settings interface.

  file created in c:\temp

Noticed that a .ts file is created when watch TV. It expands as I watch the channel.
Is this normal, or have I set something wrong in the settings?
