Moving recorded shows to new drive/directory
Posted by: dongna - 2011-11-05, 01:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I installed a second hard drive in my PC that will be more or less dedicated to video storage.

How should I go about moving my currently recorded shows from my old drive to the new one?

remove "leading spaces" from epg xml?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2011-11-04, 11:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

Does anyone know how I can "wash" my XML-based through program that will remove the "leading spaces" from the XML?
I use batch file that I got from mvallevand (Thanks Martin, still works beautifully) to strip Chinese Characters, now just need to add something to remove the "leading spaces"

C:\Progra~1\GnuWin32\bin\sed -e "s/[\x00-\x1F\x7F-\xFF]//g" -e "s/()//g" C:\Utils\TVXB\XML\TVXB01XML\xmltvHKBTVTemp.xml > C:\Utils\TVXB\XML\TVXB01XML\xmltvHKBTV.xml

Unable to Communicate with Recording Service - HDPVR NPVR2.2.6
Posted by: baze256 - 2011-11-03, 02:20 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I was running v1.5.36 OK. I've tried to update to v2 before and ran into this problem. I would like to get the current version running. So I'm trying again.

As soon as I try to watch TV I get the "Please wait..." then "Unable to communicate"; the channel select takes place as I can see the led flash. This happens within about 3 seconds.
The NPVR-log shows this error:
2011-11-03 06:34:57.328 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error calling StartStream(): System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.

I am attaching the log file.

Let me know if you need anything else.

I'm running XP-Pro on an AMD Phenom II quad 940. Lots of HD space ~3.5 Tb.

Problem importing channels with large mc2xml file
Posted by: dewchugr - 2011-11-03, 02:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Unfortunitely I am on Comcast (basic extended or whatever they call it) and the have of course converted all of my channels to digital. I am using npvr 2.2.6 and I have the DTA box. When I use mc2xml I have the option for Comcast basic which works fine, but only gives me 45 of my channels. I also have the option for digital which, if it's like my tv listing on my iPad will give me hundreds of channels and radio channels. I am not sure how many I really get as there are many duplicates but I only use 70 of them.

When I try to set up my device in npvr using the analog mc2xml file I click import and I get the screen where I can tell it I want the channels to come in on channel 4 and all, click import and e erythronium is good. When I create an mc2xml file for digital cable the ml file is about 150mb. When I am setting up my device I am setting it up as analog so I can tune them on channel 4. I click import and nothing, it just hangs. Task manger shows very little activity for nextpvr.exe but the memory usage is 150-400mb or more. After a half hour still nothing, no channel import, just hang app.

Any ideas what I should look at to figure this out? Is there any way to limit the number of channels it imports?

I've got to get this going and figure out how to get npvr to change the channels on the tuner or my wife's going to make me get a comcast DVR and that's the LAST thing I want in my house!

Thanks

crash near end of recording this morning
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2011-11-03, 02:07 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

sub,

I got this crash.mdmp this morning. It was time-stamped at 5:58am, about 2 minutes before a recording was to end, which then got the usual graph stop failure. I don't know if this crash.mdmp will be of any use though, as I don't have all the latest patches installed (just up to R2, patches 1-40). But here it is along with the nrecord.log, just in case it tells you anything.

Task bar remains visible in 'Full Screen' mode with Win7 text size at 150%
Posted by: McBainUK - 2011-11-02, 10:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I've made the text size of my HTPC bigger (150%) so I can use standard applications comfortably from the sofa. Unfortunately this has resulted in NextPVR no longer taking up the whole screen in "Full Screen" mode - the task bar remains visible. Is this a bug or just an avoidable side effect?

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

Note: if I enable NextPVR's "Always on top" mode the task bar will be hidden, but this mode makes it hard to launch applications from NextPVR as they will show behind it's window.

PostupdateEPG.bat does not finish by nrecord.exe, npvr.exe works fine
Posted by: agerdin - 2011-11-02, 08:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Sub,

I originially reported the issue here (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post423313) thinking it was a UltraXMLTV problem. However, after running a EPG update from the NPVR client I see that the behaviour is different from the scheduled EPG update which is run by the recording service.

1. The scheduled EPG update at 7:00 AM starts running the PostupdateEPG.bat file but the UltraXMLTV process gets stuck and needs to be forced closed.

2. Running an EPG update from the NPVR Client also starts the PostupdateEPG.bat but here the UltraXMLTV process finishes as normal.

Anyway, sorry about the double posting but I want to make sure I am adressing the correct sub-forum.

Logs covering both 1 and 2 above as well as bat files are attached.

Thanks,

\\Agerdin

  Video size in MVPMCX2
Posted by: aardwolf2 - 2011-11-02, 02:06 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (2)

Question on video size when playing content on the NMT (not the menus, I know about the config.xml settings) when running MVPMCX2, where is it getting the setting for the video size? I appear to have some overscan when either watching live TV or recorded content, so I have been into the native NMT player and using a DVB HD recording set each zoom mode to just fit the screen (96% for each as it happens), however dropping into MVPMCX2 it appears to still play the video at the 100% zoom setting. It's not actually causing any issues, just a nagging feeling that I'm losing some quality as the image is being stretched
