  Using default schedule popup
Posted by: Northpole - 2011-10-14, 12:00 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (1)

FYI, I notice recently that if I set the plugin to use the default scheduling popup, the Man-Rec popup stops working.

  Store Separate Metadata
Posted by: ACTCMS - 2011-10-13, 11:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Since I added

Code:
<StoreSeparateMetadataXml>true</StoreSeparateMetadataXml>
to config.xml, I've noticed that Videos doesn't display any show Description for a given recording if a separate metadata file with the .xml extension exists for that show. If I delete the .xml file or change the extension to .metadata.xml for example, the Description info does show.

Also, what is the order of preference for finding metadata in Videos?

Can't find my HDHomerun tuner after updating
Posted by: qualsite - 2011-10-13, 04:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

After updating to latest version, my HDHomerun doesn't show up in the Devices setup. The tuner is working fine since I can watch live TV on it, but NPVR doesn't see it. I've reloaded all the HDHomerun and NPVR programs a couple times, but all I still get is the SQLite error message when I go to the Devices tab. Any ideas??? Here's the log for that error....

  HVR-1950 Closed Captions Problem
Posted by: Greg Smith - 2011-10-12, 10:09 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I have a problem, gang. I've downloaded the HVR-1950 driver from August, 2009 (the latest driver doesn't appear to support CCs) and (unfortunately) the WinTV program (necessary for using the IR Blaster in GB-PVR). As long as I leave the PC on, I can make a DVD with recordings from GB-PVR and I can see closed captions on the finished DVD. After I turn off my computer, turn it back on, record something and make a DVD from that recording, the CCs are gone on the finished DVD. What I have to do when this happens is run hcwclear to remove WinTV and the HVR-1950 driver, reboot, then reinstall WinTV and the HVR-1950 driver. The DVD I make after performing these steps has closed captions. I know that when I turn off my PC tonight, turn it on in the morning, make a recording and burn it to DVD, the CCs will again be gone and I'll have to again run hcwclear to remove the driver and WinTV, reboot and reinstall both to have the CCs appear. This certainly isn't practical. Something is happening in the software on shut-down that turns CCs off. I don't want to leave my PC on all the time, and I don't want to have to reinstall both the software and HVR-1950 driver upon each bootup whenever I want the CCs. I'm sure this is an issue with WinTV, not GB-PVR, because I never had to do this before when I was on analogue cable, and on analogue cable, I wasn't forced to install WinTV as I am now with digital. Hauppauge, however, is clueless, so I thought I'd ask here.

NRecord won't stop and can't delete it to re-install program
Posted by: qualsite - 2011-10-12, 09:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

I've also been having record crashes. with it starting to record something, then just stopping after about a minute. I downloaded the latest version, but can't get it installed. It says that the service is stopped, but the old NRecord has locked everything up, and it won't let the new version install, I can't delete it, and I can't stop it from task manager. How do I stop this thing so that I can start over?

Finally got it to stop by going into the startup and disabling automatic startup of programs.

Installed latest version of NPVR, but now it won't see my HDHomerun. What am I doing wrong? I've downloaded the latest HDHomerun firmware, set it to OTHER, but the NPVR Device only gives me an error message. See attached LOG.

  Impressed with TBS 6981
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2011-10-12, 08:02 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I recently received my TBS 6981 dual DVB-S2 from their shop, shipped out of Singapore. It installed easily and showed up in the devices applet no problems. It works great with DVB-S2 channels and changes channels as quickly, or more quickly than any card I've used before, and is also very quick between transponders. It is a little slow to initialise on first use, but not as slow as my Twinhan/Azurewave cards were.

All in all, I am extremely happy with the way the card performs in nPVR and can recommend it whole-heartedly. I only wish now that I'd spent a bit more $$$ and got their new quad-tuner card. That will have to wait until I'm a bit more flush Wink

  ATSC captures w/ffdshow
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-10-12, 03:26 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I don't know if it is an issue or not but all my ATSC captures (LiveTV and in-progress recordings) don't show as having the proper 1920x1080 aspect ratio in the ffdshow info, yet if I run them in as Recordings or in GraphEdit they do. My HD-PVR and all the DVB h264 samples I have also show the correct aspect ratio.

I have asked before for an option to have AC3 default for LiveTV (I'm not really sure why this is so tough) to improve the really awful audio sync I have, I guess now I'd also like to ATSC work like h264 and default to 1920x1080 AC3.

  ReClockOrNot: Support Thread
Posted by: imilne - 2011-10-11, 03:10 PM - Forum: Add-ons (3rd party plugins, utilities and skins) - Replies (13)

This is the (new) support thread for ReClockOrNot, a plugin that allows ReClock to work with NPVR by disabling it during Live TV and Recordings where it would ordinarily be incompatible with the multiple audio codecs in use simultaneously.

If posting bug reports, please ensure to include the log files from either C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\NPVR\Logs.

Please note that although ReClockOrNot hasn't changed for a while, updated - and simpler - installation instructions have been posted to the wiki for it. Thanks to Lao Pan for working them out.

Definitive list of supported tuners ??
Posted by: softfoot - 2011-10-11, 01:52 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hi,

I remember that there was a list for the old GBPVR --- but is there such a list for NextPvr ??

What I am looking for in particular is the status of DVB-S tuners ... especially DUAL tuner cards.

TIA
Dave

  Device Failed to Start issue
Posted by: HuskerGrad - 2011-10-11, 01:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Some of my recordings are failing and when I look at the recording, it says "Device Failed to Start". It seems somewhat random. Last night, it recorded a show from 7:30 to 8:00 just fine, but failed to record one at 8:30 and another at 9:00. I tried restarting the recording service and even rebooting with no luck. I then tried to watch live TV and got an error about locating the capture device. This has happened before, but is not consistent. I am running the most recent version of NPVR on Windows XP. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeff
