New Western Digital WD TV Live and NPVR?
Posted by: cncb - 2011-10-06, 04:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

The new WD TV Live boxes look pretty nice. Has anyone looked into using NPVR with them? I know you can view recordings via DLNA but I mean more along the lines of the NMT-like integration with Live TV streaming.

  Universe unhandled exception error
Posted by: ga_mueller - 2011-10-05, 11:54 PM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (2)

I've installed nPVR as well as the Universe plugin on my GBPVR system. nPVR works as far as playing files and such, but choosing Universe immediately crashes nPVR. nPVR logs are attached.

Thanks in advance for any help, George

Drudgereport is reporting that Steve Jobs has died. At the time of this writing, they give no other info.

Looks good. I like the idea of the integrated media jukebox. So for a pure playback client this could probably work for npvr. Pity it doesn't run xbmc... Or syabas came with open arms and specifications to mvallevand so he can work his magic...

Extracting ADS metadata to a seperate file

Does anyone have a batch file for extracting the ADS metadata.xml from a .ts recording and saving it in a suitably named .xml file?

OID of Capture_Source as Parameter to Parallel-/PostProcessing.bat
Posted by: BrettB - 2011-10-05, 02:56 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

sub,

Can you add a 4th parameter to the ParallelProcessing.bat and PostProcessing.bat scripts which would contain the OID of the Capture_Source used for the recording?

I've had a few recording with some quality "glitches" recently, and I want to add some additional logging try to track down whether the source is a specific tuner or my cable in general, etc. So I need to log which tuner was used for which recording as well as periodically checking the tuner status during recordings. And the commands to check the tuner status vary depending upon which tuner is being used.

Thanks!

  Retuning problems
Posted by: jpsa - 2011-10-05, 09:03 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm not sure what I've done here!

BlackGold BGT3620 dual tuner
Windows XP
United Kingdom/Sandy Heath transmitter
NPVR 2.2.6 + Patches R1

When I originally set things up a few months ago, I selected the "copy settings" option when setting up the second tuner. Everything was working fine.

Then a couple of channels stopped working (I don't remember the details, unfortunately), so I did a retune on both devices. This worked, except that the channel list now showed several duplicate channels.

Then, a couple of weeks later, everything stopped working (all channels simply showed a black screen), and retuning didn't cure things. To try to get a complete "factory reset", I renamed the npvr.db3 file (I hope that wasn't a mistake), and did a rescan. No channels at all were found.

The following morning, I power cycled the computer, and repeated the retune. This time channels were found as expected, *except* that they all have the wrong channel numbers -- before I started this exercise, the channel numbers matched those in the published channel guide, now it looks as if they have simply been allocated sequentially as the scan found the channels.

I've since updated the driver on the BlackGold device to the latest version, renamed the npvr.db3 file again, and rescanned. The channels still have the wrong channel numbers, though.

So, a few questions...

1. How can I get the proper channel numbers back?

2. What's the right way to do a channel rescan, keeping the two devices sharing the same channel list?

3. Is renaming the npvr.db3 the right way to do a "factory reset" on the channel list, or is there a less brutal solution?

Thanks for any help!
John
