Posted by: brady@preheim.com - 2023-07-31, 10:22 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

I restored a known working db3 database from 7.27 and it did not help

I also update epg and it is still blank

also, the devices screen no longer seems to come up in the web page, but from the icon in status they do show up..

  FFMPEG CPU usage
Posted by: VCR58 - 2023-07-30, 09:17 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (8)

On my Linux box I have two recordings going. One is an NHRA race and the other is an MLB game. When observing the CPU usage I noticed that it seemed quite high. Using Webmin I looked at the processes running and noticed with the NHRA recording, ffmpeg was much higher than the MLB recording. According to Webmin the NHRA event ffmpeg was using 77% CPU usage. But the MLB game ffmpeg was only using 11%.

The NHRA recording is using the Tablo tuner and the MLB game is using an HDHR Connect tuner.

Here are gui pics of the processes for each recording.

So, my question is, why is ffmpeg CPU usage so much higher on the NHRA recording?

  Release 6.1.4.230625 Two-Thumbs Up!
Posted by: TheKenR - 2023-07-30, 05:37 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (1)

Hey Sub,

Thanks for your continued work on NextPVR. Today I installed the latest release and was pleased to find seeking in the web player much improved! Some of my recordings would seek incorrectly in the web player and Kodi. I was working on that issue in my spare time this week when I noticed the new release was available. I was very pleased that after installing the release the problem disappeared on my test video while using the web player. I haven't tried Kodi yet but will later this evening.

I suspect the root cause of my issue has something to do with dropped packets or corrupt timestamps in the recording but whatever you did it appears to tolerate it very nicely now.

Thanks!
K

Latest version locking files and creating additional files
Posted by: krissyd001 - 2023-07-30, 08:46 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (11)

Hi. Upgraded recently to 6.1.4.230625 and have some new odd behaviour.

Firstly, additional files in the recordings folder. I now have .timings .map and .thumbnails files for each recording. These are for both in progress recordings (expected) and completed recordings (not expected).

This latest version is also locking the last recording so the files can not be copied without restarting the NPVR service to release the lock. The locked files are .ts and .timings

I do not have the 'keep digital tuners primed' box ticked.

Cheers,

  Episode listing structure
Posted by: tesla1886 - 2023-07-29, 06:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

As I have said in previous posts, I have copied all of my DVD's and imported them into NextPVR. Many TV series programs have well over 100 and 200 episodes. I have all but the latest season of one series that has over 300 episodes. Another series I only have two seasons of, but have intentions of getting the rest, resulting in 421 and counting episodes. Point is that is a lot of scrolling.

Is it possible to add a feature to group all the episodes from a season together and make the groups collapsible? Kind of like putting all episodes of season 1 into a folder,  all episodes of season 2 into a folder,  all episodes of season 3 into a folder etc.
For example instead of

Series Name 1
     Season 1 Episode 1
     Season 1 Episode 2
     Season 1 Episode 3
     Season 1 Episode 4
     Season 1 Episode 5
     .
     .
     .
     .
     Season 1 Episode 21
     Season 1 Episode 22
     Season 1 Episode 23
     Season 1 Episode 24
     Season 1 Episode 25
     Season 2 Episode 1
     Season 2 Episode 2
     Season 2 Episode 3
     Season 2 Episode 4
     Season 2 Episode 5
     .
     .
     .
     Season 2 Episode 21
     Season 2 Episode 22
     Season 2 Episode 23
     Season 2 Episode 24
     Season 2 Episode 25

Would become
Series Name 1
     Season 1
     Season 2
     Season 3
     .
     .
     .

Opening Season would result in
Series Name 1
     Season 1
          Season 1 Episode 1
          Season 1 Episode 2
          Season 1 Episode 3
          Season 1 Episode 4
          Season 1 Episode 5
          .
          .
          .
          .
          Season 1 Episode 21
          Season 1 Episode 22
          Season 1 Episode 23
          Season 1 Episode 24
          Season 1 Episode 25

or even
Series Name 1
     Season 1
          Season 1 Episode 1
          Season 1 Episode 2
          Season 1 Episode 3
          Season 1 Episode 4
          Season 1 Episode 5
          .
          .
          .
          .
          Season 1 Episode 21
          Season 1 Episode 22
          Season 1 Episode 23
          Season 1 Episode 24
          Season 1 Episode 25
     Season 2
     Season 3
     .
     .
     .

or even something else similar.

Desktop App won't play Mono Radio Stations
Posted by: Agamemnon - 2023-07-29, 06:13 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

The Desktop App (version 6.1.4 (230625)) is unable to play UK DVB Radio Stations such as BBC Northampton or BBC Cambridgeshire or BBC There Counties Radio which are encoded at 80kbps MP2 Mono no matter which Decoder I select including LAV, The best it will do is show the Radio station has been opened in the Show Status window and the file is displayed in the live buffer directory which is playable in any external player. At worst is starts downloading the .ts file with no sound the file and then stops a one or two seconds later.

This issue does not occur playing radio stations such as BBC Radio 1 which are encoded at 192kbps MP2 Stereo and does not affect the mono stations if they are played back using the Web App which will play back the audio trans coded in MPEG4 including a video stream at 2000kbps which therefore wastes bandwidth and CPU power, so I'd rather the stations play in the Desktop app.

Can this be fixed in the next update?

Thanks.

How to delete seemingly corrupted recordings?
Posted by: three6zerocool - 2023-07-29, 01:29 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Is it advisable to set the timeshift directory onto a NAS as opposed to an actual hard drive?

Reason being, I created a timeshift dataset and share on my NAS for timeshift data.
I have some recurring series configured.

What has happened is that NextPVR says it is currently recording, but when I try and jump in to watch the currently recording show, I get the unable to play stream error message, which is the same one I got when I did not have the timeshift folder configured correctly.

What seems to have happened, is that the TS file in the recording folder does not increment and stays at zero size.
When the recording is finished, the filesize is still zero.

I try deleting the file in NextPVR web interface of Kodi interface, and it does nothing.
Similarly, if I go to the recording folder and try manually deleting the relevant files, it gives errors of files in use.

I am guessing that configuring live TV timeshift location to the NAS was not a good thing to do?

How should I go about cleaning up the rogue recordings?

I have configured the timeshift folder back to a local drive, and things seem to be working fine again, with the exception of the couple of rogue recordings, which don't really seem to be there, as they are zero bytes in size.

  Import recordings
Posted by: VCR58 - 2023-07-28, 08:54 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (7)

My HTPC Linux box cannot import recordings. I get a message that says "Import failed. Not logged in"

Obviously, I am logged in so don't know why this error.

  Strange channel logo behavior
Posted by: djenson - 2023-07-28, 06:02 PM - Forum: Android - Replies (5)

Hi there. I have changed to some updated channel logos in the C:\Users\Public\NPVR-Data\media\channels path. These show up in the webclient, and nextpvr.exe windows client, but do not show on the UIdroid client which is clinging onto the old logos. How do i tell UIdroid to refresh logos? I have tried clearing data, reinstalling, and briefly looking for a cache file in the android system, but have been unable to find one. any help appreciated.

Edit: Should add

NextPVR Version: 6.1.4.230625
UIdroid version 1.7.22

  Kodi add-on not working (linux)
Posted by: Oempa - 2023-07-28, 05:39 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (8)

I was a happy user of a pretty old Kodi on OSMC (Vero 4k+)
NextPVR running on Debian with an HD Homerun
All LAN wired with gigabit

Kodi 18.9 OSMC Linux with add-on 3.3.21 > Smooth NextPVR with timeshift
Kodi 19.4 Windows with add-on 19.0.6 > Smooth NextPVR with timeshift

Now on another Vero 4K+ I upgraded to Kodi 20.1
Using add-on 20.4.1 things are quite bad
TV is going in slow motion and audio is off sync
Opening a stream takes 10 seconds (was 2)
Switching between real-time and timeshift doesn't help

It's missing dependencie inputstream.ffmpegdirect
And I do not know how to correct that

Is there a ZIP available for Linux with add-on 19 ?
