EPG and xmltv - EPG is not updated
Posted by: jesk - 2011-09-27, 07:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

Hi

I have a problem with EPG and xmltv. When I select a xmltv source for a channel, the
EPG is not updated :-(

Source is always "..." in the Settings - Channels window

I have tried to "Empty EPG" and "Update EPG" with no success

If I use the DVB-EPG data, the EPG is showing the the wrong programs for all the channels. But never mind, I would like to use the xmltv file

Newest nextPvr version
Windows 7 32bit

Help !

I have attached the log and a image

recording failed in a really strange way
Posted by: dumbledore - 2011-09-27, 06:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

it looks like the tuner just kept changing channels for some reason, i didn't see anything in the log file though... here's a sample of the .ts output it made: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=59SABTYY
i checked and the stations you see it switching between aren't even on the same broadcast frequency.

  intermittent recording failures
Posted by: bcdudley - 2011-09-27, 04:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have been running my current gbpvr system for many years with no problems. About a month ago, it started failing on some recordings and others would say successful, but would be 0kb files.I am hoping that someone could help me out with this. I missed a show I really wanted to see tonight while my wife was able to record dancing with the stars (GRRRrrrrrrr.)I have 2 QAM digital cards and another analog tuner card. I am not sure if this is a hardware failure or something else. I have attached all of my logs.If it makes a difference, the show that failed that I wanted to watch was Terra Nova on channel 357 at 7:00.

Version is 1.4.7

I would be appreciative of any suggestions. Meanwhile, I will be googling like crazy trying to find a downloadable copy of the show I missed.

Thank you.

  Aac audio playback
Posted by: toricred - 2011-09-27, 02:39 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I have several hundred videos from SageTV that I am trying to watch through npvr. I am finding that the recordings with AAC audio play but no audio plays out my HDMI card. I have been trying to use AC3Filter as the decoder.

  TS playback problem
Posted by: WKleeven - 2011-09-26, 08:46 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I thought I had everything configured alright, but yesterday evening when I wanted to play back a (digital) recording it turned out differently.
I think because I had channels of an analogue and a digital tuner merged, I didn't notice before that the video being played back on the MVP was from the analogue card, not from the digital card (whick had a higher priority).
So today I disabled the analogue card and tried to watch live tv or play back a recording (made with the digital card). Now I get no video (black screen) and stuttering audio. I can see and hear the files normal with windows media player and also on my laptop (client) with NPVR (so no firewall problem or codec). Just not on the MVP.
I am sure I have the correct dongle (20 febr 2011, showing when starting the MVP).
Also, I can play back mpg-files normal, it's just with ts-files.

  NMT hit or miss
Posted by: pcostanza - 2011-09-26, 06:18 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (12)

I've done nothing new to my setup but add a new HDTV. I am now fully HDMI but with 2 systems hooked to the PCH, one works everytime but the other is hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've done nothing but change the screen res setting to both. It's not the firewall but other than that, I have no idea.
Before I start from scratch, I wanted to ask here first.
Here's the result of the NMTChecker:

Channel appears on wrong MUX scanning UK DVB-T (as well as correc6t one).
Posted by: martint123 - 2011-09-26, 01:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

On my soon-to-be-live npvr install on a new box that is running in parallel with the ever reliable old GBPVR box, I got shouted at because a couple of recordings went missing.

It looks like that during scanning, a channel (may be more than one, just that one has been noticed) is found on a mux that it is not really on and that mapping picks the wrong one by sods law.

Channel in question is "challenge" and is on the mux at 730MHz but is also detected at 546MHz and this is what seems to get used.

Attached zip contains log from a scanning run starting from an empty database also a listing from ScanchannelsBDA that shows what that finds.

I have a vague feeling it may be a broadcasters fault combined with subs excellent system of detecting UK channels that are "part time".

cheers,
Martin

  Index errors stopping a video
Posted by: psycik - 2011-09-26, 08:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hi

Been finding some index errors coming up after stopping a video. Seems to happen on from the video library and from existing a recording.

Here's the JIT error:

hey sub, thought i'd continue the conversation from geekzone here.

where do i put in these values

Quote:Most likely you've got incorrect LNB settings. If you dont know the specs for you LNB, in NextPVR you can try all 11300/11300/11300 or 10750/10750/10750. These are the settings I use on my two different LNBs. You might require different settings, but give these a go.

in the digital recorder settings popup, ive tried optous d1 and optus c1,d3 but no channels are found.
