PCTV HD Pro 800e (USA) recognized incorreclty as DVB-T device
Posted by: autumnmist - 2011-09-21, 02:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

We've been having some funkiness with our NPVR setup (we have a Colossus card and a PCTV 800e) which we thought might be traceable to the various manual adjustments we had to do to get the Colossus working (prior to sub coding full support for the Colossus).

We decided to wipe our old NPVR setup (config.xml, npvr.db3, are backed up) and reinstall. Upon reinstallation, NPVR automatically recognized the Colossus and the PCTV HD Pro... but not entirely correctly. It thinks the PCTV stick is actually the European DVB-T (330e/800e) version instead of the US version (800e). This is a problem obviously because when it asks to set the country/region, the US is not an option.

Concatenate Name and Subtitle in Pending Recordings Screen
Posted by: Northpole - 2011-09-20, 02:54 PM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

I noticed that the Name and Subtitle are concatenated in the recordings screens for "Whats New" and "Ready Recordings" but not for "Pending Recordings". I was hoping to have that feature added so that the subtitle lines in the skin can be removed thus eliminating the double display.

Thanks.

  Automerge and newa missing channels
Posted by: march - 2011-09-20, 09:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi everyone. just got a new computer and now newa works fantastic Smile My automerge isn't working or should i say when i want to bulk map channels with the same name. I have 4 tuners. This worked beautifully on the old computer. is there a patch. I have the latest version of npvr from august this year.

Also i'm missing some channels from the newa web page, about all i can say on that one, so not all the channels are appearing.

  Maximized windows versus full screen
Posted by: WKleeven - 2011-09-20, 06:50 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

If I maximize the NPVR screen I get a full screen instead (no borders), so I can't minimize the screen anymore. Only by exiting and restarting the program.

NPVR not selecting the correct tuner card
Posted by: WKleeven - 2011-09-20, 06:45 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I have 2 tuner cards, 1 analogue, 1 dvb-c.

For some reason (probaly signal to weak) I can't receive 2 channels digital, only analogue.
I merged every other channel (from analogue and digital source).

When I start watching tv on a channel I can only receive analogue, of course this card is selected.
But if I then select another channel, which I can receive both analogue and digital the digital card isn't being used, although in settings the digital card is listed first (and I havent' checked "use reverse priority for live tv").

No thumbnails anymore within TV Listings after progressing to NextPVR 2.2.6
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-09-20, 12:30 AM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (10)

Hi Alibert!

After updating the server and clients to NextPVR 2.2.6 i can not see any thumbnails created by xmltvextras.exe anymore. They're just disappeared. Has something changed in the database of NextPVR?

  Skin element Details in NowNext
Posted by: Jaggy - 2011-09-19, 11:43 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

Because it's such a cold wet lousy day I decided to get onto some of the thing "I don't want to do" ie. updating BRVE+ for 2.2.6 & I have run into a snag almost right from the start.....

In 2.2.6 you have added a "Details" element to the players NowNext skin & while it will crash if it's not in the skin I can't find out what it actually displays as it doesn't seem to display anything for me??

  DCTTuner plugin pre-Alpha test
Posted by: whurlston - 2011-09-19, 06:25 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (25)

I was hoping to have this plugin completed before the new season started but it did not work out.

If anyone is willing to run some tests for me, this is a base for a DCTTuner plugin. It is not useable for recording or live TV but it will gather some information that I need to detect clear QAM channels and copy-freely programming. It will not make changes to your database such as adding channels so it should not affect regular recordings. It does save a capture source to the database but no channels will be associated with it.

The couple of people that previously ran a test for me should delete their "[userdata]\Plugins\Common\PSIP Parser.*" files if you still have them. The new version does not have a space in the name so it will not be overwritten.

  1. Stop all NPVR processes.
  2. Unzip the file to your [userdata]\Plugins folder.
  3. Start NPVR.
  4. Open Settings.
  5. Select Devices.
  6. You should see a capture source with type "DCTRecorder" for each of your tuners (a Prime would have 3 capture sources listed).

    [Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=31757&stc=1&d=1316456515]

  7. Select one and open the Device Settings (or double click on the capture source).
  8. If "Carrier Lock" has a check mark, it means the CableCard has an OOB lock with your provider and you should see a list of channels.
  9. If you do not see any channels or if you see an incomplete list, close the device settings screen and re-open it after a few seconds (giving it a little more time to acquire the OOB data). It usually takes about 30 seconds after starting NPVR for my ATI to aquire the data.
  10. If it takes significantly longer than 30-60 seconds, try rebooting the machine and/or tuner and then try again.
Once your channels are listed, you will see a "Test" button and a "Scan" button.

[Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=31758&stc=1&d=1316456521]

"Test" will scan the selected channels and print some debug information in the logs.
A "selected" channel means one that is highlighted, not one that is checked as "Enabled" (check marks can be ignored for now).
You can select multiple channels using "Alt + click" or "Shift + click" or you can simple test one channel at a time.
If possible, select one of each of the following and click the "Test" button:
  1. A known Clear QAM channel (one of your local channels is a good choice).
  2. A known encrypted channel to which you are subscribed.
  3. A known encrypted channel to which you are not subscribed.
  4. A PPV channel.
  5. An OnDemand channel.

"Scan" will scan all channels in the list and print the same debug information in the logs.
This will take a long time (about 15 minutes for 500 channels by my tests). This will be significantly decreased this once I get the information I seek. I don't recommend running a full scan at this time but I left if enabled in case someone just has nothing better to do.

After the test/scan is complete, you will get a popup telling you that it completed, the number of channels scanned and the time it took.

Please post your Nextpvr.log after running the test. I'm specifically looking for Prime/2650/Ceton tests and tests from a Scientific Atlanta CableCard. (I am running an ATI with a Motorola CableCard).

@wtg, if you run this test, you can use channels 64, 145, 156, 501 and any channel to which you are not subscribed.

Once the tests are complete, you can stop all NPVR processes and remove the Plugins\DCTRecorder folder if you wish.
