I have a channel that won't show up in the list of scanned ATSC channels. I can see from the log file that it scanned and was found but it is not in the list of channels so I can't map it to the EPG. I have attached npvr.log that says the channel was found and a screen shot of the scanned channels with the channel missing. The channel in question is KUCW-DT 30.1 & 30.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've downloaded XMLTVextras and placed the file in the scripts folder and the postupdateepg bat which is included in the download in the npvr folder but I don't think it's working. I don't see a postupdateepg log file like I have for postprocessing. Do I need to change something in the postupdate bat for it to work? I use SD, does it work with the native SD support? I'm trying to get it working so I can start using the tv listings plugin.

I have Hauppauge's HVR-1950, GBPVR v1.3.11, and WinXP, SP3. Over the past several months (perhaps since I installed the HVR-1950), I have noticed that several recordings have some annoying distortion when the actors speak loudly. It sounds as if some analog circuitry was being over driven and clipping the audio peaks. I never noticed this problem with my previous WinTV PVR-250. I have tried reducing the audio levels in as many places as possible but nothing seems to help. I've fiddled with the SoundMax Volume control but that doesn't do much. Is there a volume control in the WinTV7 v7.0.29160 software? I can't find it. What have I missed?

Can anyone suggest a way to clean up this distortion?

Every now and then I get hit by a missed recording, caused by 'Recording service not running at recording time'. It's always unexpected and it might be weeks from one occurrence to the next.
I never do things like stop the recording service manually and my system runs 24-7. I can only guess that NPVR just stops responding every now and then.
Is this a common occurrence or is it just me? If I'm not the only one, has anyone thought of a way to at least raise an alert that something is not right (recording service not running)? Some sort of watchdog process maybe? How could this be done?

I like the live paused feature quite alot. For example, I will pause the news whilst going to eat dinner in another room. When I return I can skip through the garbage I dont care for and catchup. However, when I return and unpause the video will often jump forward missing huge gaps of the program.

What I have noticed that the maximum pause time seems to be around 15 mins. The buffer never seems to reach more than 15min.
Can someone explain the parameters of this functionality. is this normal? how can I extend the buffer?

So after many issues getting things set up using an HVR-2250 I finally gave up, returned it, and got an HVR-1600 which I know works. Everything installed smoothly, nPVR sees it and is configured to use it. The only thing I can't get to work is the remote. I've modified irremote.ini as suggested on the wiki, but it will not work with nPVR. When I press the power button it opens Windows Media Center and that works with the remote fine. The remote also works with WinTV7 fine.

Previously I've had a Pinnacle PCTV usb remote kit attached to this computer. Is it possible some registry key for that is overriding the hauppauge remote manager? Any ideas? This is really annoying me.

I have 2.2.6 installed and patch 1. When I play a ripped DVD and change volume (either with my remote or on my computer using the Volume icon in the System Tray), it crashes with the following data from the Details button (the dialog immediately reappears if I click Continue button):

NOTE1: I have the VolumeOSD plugin installed, and have not tried uninstall it to see if the problem goes away.
NOTE2: I can change volume with LiveTV and recordings with no errors.

Sub, can the recording end time be changed programmatically when the are being recorded? The reason I would like this is I was reading about a SageTV plugin which adjusts recording time around sporting events that go too long by checking online for the status. I know I could use this.

If it is possible I envision a tuner plugin that creates the monitoring thread with no tuners in NRecord. It checks the site http://www.livepvrdata.com/events.jsp (mainly North American but the site itself can do other sports, I will push for F1) and if the event is ongoing it moves the end time before padding starts.

A second option would be big feature here in North America, even for non-sports fans. Typically on Sunday nights the football games go late and the stations don't cut the following programs. I'd like to move not only the end time but the start/end time of subsequent programs that are chained after the game.

Do you think this is possible?

I use the free to air program guide (in Oz) and during the week scheduled some recordings for the weekend. The program guide was later altered quite dramatically by the broadcaster. I had a bit of bother trying to get npvr to update it's epg info to reflect the changes (visible natively on my tv) and with hindsight I guess the best thing would have been to delete my scheduled recordings first and start again.

So my question is, what does npvr do when it has recordings scheduled via the guide and the guide info subsequently changes? If it doesn't alert the user to the fact that scheduled recordings are no longer valid, I'd definitely like to add that to the feature wishlist.

Other than not scheduling recordings too far in advance, any tips to avoid problems?
