24/7 Recording - I want to record EVERYTHING, then later pick which bits to keep.
Posted by: Brenden - 2011-08-30, 05:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Hello everyone, here is the description of a setup I would like to emulate, and I'd like to know how possible it is with NextPVR:

One computer, with multiple TV tuners (say, 6), each one recording a different channel continuously, splitting the output into different shows, saving them as MPEG-2s named by time and title, into folders named by date and channel.

Dealing with programs running before or after their EPG-alloted time is not an issue, I'll use ffmpeg or simple windows concatenation to join the ones before and after them together and virtualdub to strip them away again, my main question to you is, could nextPVR be set up to continuously record like this? Some macro to automatically click "record this" for every item on the EPG, even?

ps. I know that the output of this will be HUGE

  NEWA issues with SearchLite
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-08-30, 12:23 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

UJB, further to this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post418173 I was having troubles saving a recording and then removing it because of a locked database.

I think I solved it by adding aReader.Close(); to line 187 of web/App_Code/Classes/NPVRSchedule.cs

  v2.2.6 localhost= Server Error in '/' Application...

Installed v2.26 directly on top of v2.1.5 as an upgrade install, and attempted to open NEWA interface, which immediately responded with the following...

Suspecting a corrupted install, I re-downloaded v2.26 and tried again...no joy! So, went to \Application Data\NPVR\web and deleted the entire folder, thinking this would force a new install of the Web interface components. Installed v2.26 again and Success! Everything is running just fine at the moment.

I felt I should simply report this issue in the event someone else sees a similar event...

2.26 Client Crash using new NPVRTSReader file
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2011-08-29, 09:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I installed 2.2.6 then late Sunday evening the first time I ran the new version the client crashed three times within about 15 minutes so quickly replaced the client computer with an old one with the previous version installed to see the end of the programme. There was obviously a serious problem so checked the forum where there were others with similar problems and the new NPVRTSReader file which I installed but it was too late to try it by then.

This morning as a test I started the client running a two hour film to itself but 45 minutes later I saw the server go into sleep mode so I knew the client had crashed. Enclosed is the client NPVR.log with the crash at 10:15 with a SQLite error and the Server NRecord.log has an “Unexpected exception” at the same time. I have previously had Client crashes so now have extra logging enabled so also enclosed are the client reader.log and stream.log files covering the client crash.

Support for Anysee E7 T2C tuner with CI+ requested (for Boxer, Sweden)
Posted by: Barsk - 2011-08-29, 06:01 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

Hi!

It would seem that the AnySee E7 T2C may be the solution to the situation in Sweden with terrestial broadcaster Boxer. Boxer does today encrypt all mpeg-4 and HD channels with a technique that requires a CI+ capable hardware CAM. The CAM includes an embedded encryption key that enables the decoding of those channels. Until now all attempts to use a software CAM has been futile since noone has the decryption key. If that was found however it could be fed to OSCam (a softcam) which can handle this decryption. The prospect of that is slim and the proper way to go is to use an official hardware CAM that has the key embedded. The E7 does all this and it is now reported that mpeg4 and HD channels from Boxer work with this tuner.

There is an SDK to enable the decoding which I guess has to be supported in NPVR. This is where Sub comes in... Wink

The SDK and other info can be found here: http://www.anysee.com/eng/download/TC_Series.php

(Edit: This is of course for anybody with an operator demanding CI+ decoding, not only Boxer)

  Bug in client setup?
Posted by: Jesper - 2011-08-29, 04:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hi

I have installed NPVR at the Server.

In my livingroom I have a HTPC where I have installed NPVR as a client.

I have shared the the data folder at the server and I have shared the recording folder.
From Windows explore I can access the shared files and I can delete and edit them.
From NPVR I cannot play them but I can se the recorded show, When I choose watch nothing happens. I have tried move a file to the local harddrive and play it from the video folder. Then NPVR plays it. Therefor I do not think there is any codec problems.

When I look at the logfile it is pointing to D:\Optagelser_NPVR\Juno\Juno_20110828_15051645.ts. D is the local drive at the server where the file is stored. But is the program looking at the HTPC's local harddrive D?

Is the client installation handling this correct?

Thanks

Jesper

  HVR-2250 BlastCFG Issue
Posted by: hollow5555 - 2011-08-29, 05:14 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I set up NPVR recently and got it all configured and installed. My last step was to attempt to configure the IRBlaster on the capture card (HVR-2250). The software for the HVR-2250 appears to need to learn from the cable box (Comcast Motorola DCH3200) remote, but whenever I try I just get "Your remote does not appear to support the toggle bit - Retry Learning1"

I've seen other mentions of this issue, but no resolution. Has anyone gotten this to work or do I need to buy a different capture card/blaster? This is really starting to tick me off...

  Kapiti, New Zealand, frequency changes
Posted by: smiffypr - 2011-08-29, 01:48 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Just a reminder for anyone on this transmitter, they have switched frequencies this morning so you will have to delete your existing channels, set region to "All Regions" and re-scan to set-up your "Devices" again.
The new channels will also need their EPG source and channel numbers set.
If you collect EPG data off air you may also need to change the frequencies your EPG collector uses, e.g. for "EPG Collector" edit the Configuration/Tuning parameters/dvbt/New Zealand.Kapiti - Ngara.xml file and reconfigure to use the new frequencies (586000, 570000, 602000).

DirectX runtime is not available/Unable to communicate with recording service./Crash
Posted by: justcosmic1 - 2011-08-28, 11:21 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (34)

Sorry for the long title - but I am having all the above issues.
I have searched previous posts on some of these issues and tried suggested fix's but to no avail.

To clarify, right clicking and selecting "setup" I see in red:
"WARNING: The DirectX runtime is not available on this machine. Software rendering instead."

When trying to play live TV I get the message:
"Unable to communicate with recording service."

And when trying to update the EPG it crashes.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, I have .Net 3.5 (& 4), DirectX 11 (& have tried running the web updater of 9.0c)
Have all the latest Win7 updates.
I think I may have disabled Windows Media Centre - that's the only thing I can think of that logically might cause a problem.

I was successfully using GB-PVR until a day or so ago when I upgraded to NPVR. Am hoping I wont have to go back to GB-PVR...but right now can't see any other options - so would really appreciate some input.
Many thanks in advance.
