Repeatable crash during pause of live TV
Posted by: am2pgs - 2011-08-08, 09:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

My nPVR crashes everytime if I pause live tv and then press the up arrow button on my hauppague remote.

You may ask why would I press the up arrow button after pause. Well not intentionally at first. I had a problem of nPVR crashing everytime I used my sony remote. I turned out that sometimes nPVR/hauppage remote receiver interprets some sony remote commands as "pause" followed by "up" and that causes nPVR to crash every time.

Now I can repeat it with my hauppage remote.

Can somebody please confirm if the same thing happens on other setups?

Edit: it seems it is not just "up" that does it, but some other buttons as well (like "down") which if pressed during pause crashes nPVR.

Cheers

Feature request: apply EPG source to all channels
Posted by: ak1i - 2011-08-08, 05:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Hi Sub,

I'm aware that the EPG source can be different for different channels for some folks.

I am trying to add EPG source to each channel. In my case, I just have one XML file to use for all the channels for a particular device.

So it would be a very nice additional option to 'apply EPG source to all scanned channels' after a scan.

That way, for those who only use one EPG XML file for all channels for a particular device, they don't need to go thru' every individual channel (100+ in my case)... .

Thx... .

  Colours wrong on PCH-A110
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-08-08, 06:11 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

This is really just a curiosity which I'm not too bothered about but what would cause my PCH to display incorrect colours for the npvr UI?

Examples...

I use the Default skin with the Texture_Stone background - on the PC it is graded with white / grey / black with an almost 'silver' look to it. On the PCH, it looks a 'gold' colour.

When I go to the TV Guide and schedule a recording, the slot is highlighted in blue rather than red.

I use SSPanel as my screensaver but instead of the 'X' showing as blue (as in the logo on the forums and on my PC) it's yellow.

One possibility, of course, is I have an HDMI cable wired as BRG rather than RGB but when viewing live TV or recordings all colours are correct so that doesn't make sense.

Cheers,
Brian

  visible="@isFolderWithNoPreviewImage"
Posted by: Northpole - 2011-08-07, 09:17 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

I've seen visible="@isFolderWithNoPreviewImage" use for displaying an image when no preview is available for a folder item. Is there something like that available for items like visible="@isItemWithNoPreviewImage"?

Thanks.

display virtual channel info during channel scan
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2011-08-07, 08:46 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

It would be very helpful if the channel scan screen could display the virtual channel # when available in the stream. It's always available for OTA ATSC, and I believe is often available for QAM channels.

I just found a new channel in a channel scan, but I can't figure out what it is - it doesn't show up on my regular TV grouped with the other channels on that frequency, so clearly it uses a different virtual channel number. Schedules Direct only identifies channels by virtual channel number, so I have no way to know what line of EPG data this new channel goes with. In fact even for channels where I do know what they are, it's sometimes hard to remember which channel call sign identified by NPVR goes with which Schedules Direct channel.

I'm sure it'll turn out that this particular channel is another garbage channel I don't want, but finding it highlighted a minor shortcoming in the current channel scanning process.

UK Freeview Ch 4 HD - Camelot Sound Problem
Posted by: Lao Pan - 2011-08-07, 06:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

I recorded the series of Camelot for "She who must be Obeyed" (Nice British Kung Fu Series Big Grin) All have been fine until last nights final episode when at the last ad break they switched to stereo sound and then didn't switch back to 5.1 for the final part of the program - thus loosing all the dialog.

Anybody else notice this or is it all my fault again Rolleyes

Hauppauge HVR11xx Analog Capture not working?
Posted by: repli - 2011-08-07, 10:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi NPVR experts,

my son and I have had a half day spent in trying to set up NPVR for an internal PCI card from Hauppauge for analog capture via S-Video input. We have installed all the prerequisites including WinTV mux files according to walkthrough, and we are working on a Win 7 Home Premium 64bi system. NPVR installed under x86 path, manually added analog capture driver according to filtercheck output, added svideo channel to analog driver after it has shown up in devices list correcly.

Result: Black screen in LiveTV ;-(

In other software like TVcentral, S-Video input is shown correctly (however, recording does not work there, it's a phased-out program)...

Any hints? Or is the HVR11xx simply not supported - yet?

Thankful for any support,
Reinhard and Leon

merge channels on the same tuner
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2011-08-06, 09:36 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

My local Fox affilliate broadcasts their HD signal on physical channel 11. They also own another station and broadcast tower on channel 13. The two have different footprints, so they broadcast an SD version of Fox on channel 13.4 as well to cover as many homes as possible, but many people including me get both versions just fine.

I wanted to take advantage of this fact using Multi-Record (because I often record shows on both Fox and the 'regular' channel 13), so I merged the two Fox channels together.

However, it appears to have simply deleted the HD version of the channel altogether; only the SD 13.4 version now exists in the channel list for either tuner.

I realize this was not the planned use of the Merge function, so clearly I confused it by trying to do this (at least it didn't just blow up!).

This sort of manipulation was possible in GB-PVR by creating multiple instances of the same tuner device, and then carefully defining the channels available in each instance.

Could you fix/improve the Merge logic so that it's possible to merge two versions of the same channel on the same tuner without losing one of them?

This would be an even bigger help to QAM users who almost always have SD and HD versions of each channel on different frequencies.

  wiki semi-broken
Posted by: Jaggy - 2011-08-06, 08:05 PM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (16)

Is anyone looking at fixing the wiki as it has been semi-broken ever since that hacking attempt the other day (I assume sub did some update that broke something else) & for me it displays really weird. It does give me this warning message at the top ...

"Warning: filemtime() [function.filemtime]: stat failed for wiki.d/totalcounter.stat.l in /var/www/gbpvr.com/nwiki/cookbook/totalcounter.php on line 1190"

I feel it is a bit of a let down at the moment now that we have a really nice main web page to have it displaying like it is currently can't give a good second impression to new users.
