hi, can watch tv fine, and can record fine when not watching tv, but if i schedule to record a program whilst watching another, picture freezes and have to use Ctrl Alt Del to end program, any thoughts?
I am now getting another big problem after the change of my PC as mentioned in my earlier thread.
Most of the recordings that I am doing are being faulty with stream errors. Around 2 hours of recording are showing up as only 10 or 20 minutes in the time bar. Also the cursor gets stuck or jumps midway which is also evidence of stream errors.
I am using Windows XP and using the same Hauppauge cards since the last 2 years with no prb.
I need your help.
I'm trying to turn my home server into a web based PVR with NPVR.
So far I have hit some major roadblocks I'm hoping you can help with.
Here is some info:
Environment:
Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 + Desktop Experience (aka Windows Media Player)
The following software has been installed:
Microsoft .NET Runtime v2.0
DirectX 9.0c runtimes
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtimes.
CCCP Codec Pack
NPVR
Tuner Card:
Ati Theater 650 pro (FilterCheck.log in SOS package)
Problems:
1. I can play DVDs put the screen is upside-down.
(This really is a minor issue, what I really want to work is the PVR)
2. I cannot watch live TV. Everytime I try it says Unable to locate Crossbar Filter
(Screenshot included in SOS package along with logs)
To me the logs do not indicate a problem. Please assist.
In the settings menu it complains it cannot find DirectX. I installed both DirectX and DirectX 11 runtimes.
I am really new to this software and would really like to get it working.
All help appriciated.
For Auto Record, when does it Autosearch the EPG? Only at EPG updates? Once a day? Only when you log in once?
I ask as last night a game did not record, and when I looked in the NPVR Guide and Pending Recordings Screens (i.e. not NEWA) other games with the same Auto Record criteria were not highlighted.
However, when I then logged into NEWA, the Recordings immediately showed as greyed shows i.e. "Autorecords".
When I then went back into the NPVR Guide and Pending Recordings Screen, lo and behold the same recordings that were missing 2 minutes ago now showed up
So I guess my question is what actually triggers an Autosearch, and what can I do to make sure that the shows I want to Autorecord are searched for? If it only searches after you log in, this seems to be a potential show-stopper, if you excuse the pun!
Would a "Search every 6 hrs" (Selectable) option make sense here?
A few years back I was told the only way to record/view HD material from an HD box (in gbpvr/nextpvr) was hauppauge hd-pvr. Is that still the recommended device or is there something newer out there I should go for?

I was originally planning on getting some dvb-s2 card to put in the computer, but the rumors here are that the two satellite distributors here have or are about to user card pairing, which means I might not get it to work in my computer. So to save some nerves, I thought the best course of action might be to use the box they provide me with and then the USB-UIRT blaster as a channel changer (or does the hauppauge hd-pvr have a built in blaster, maybe?) Today I use the USB-UIRT as a remote receiver only.

When I'm finished with npvr for the night, I hit the Power button on the PCH remote which takes me to the PCH 'Home' screen (the one with the icons for the music, video, photo, 'documents' folders). I then hit the Power button again to put the PCH into standby.
Working in reverse, I bring it out of standby with Power then have to select the 'documents' icon then select the 'NPVR' option from the pop-up menu...after a short amount of time I get the npvr home screen.
So....thinking as a recent ex-MVP user where I simply had to use the Power button on the MVP remote to wake or standby the MVP using mvpmc, what is the closest I can get to that experience? Are there scripts I can tweak which would speed things up?
I am not sure where the correct forum is for this question. However:
I have installed the Netflix Viewer but can not get the database installed. I have tried 5 or 6 times and once it reaches about 2 minutes into the download it just shuts down (the download app). Let me know what info you want and I will present it. Help?
The goal
We're close to finishing a custom WordPress theme for use with the new NextPVR homepage.
The problem
We have a rendering issue in IE8 that looks to be CSS related.
The solution
CSS is really not my area so I'm asking if there's any CSS gurus (even better WordPress theme guru) that could help out? PM me or post below.
