  Win7 issues with latest NPVR
Posted by: Glynderi - 2011-04-25, 03:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Before I go into detail, I'm certain I'll be asked to zip up & post some files. Only I need to know today is which files/folder/directory do I need to zip for a new Win7 installation. Once some helpful person tells me that, I can then post a meaningful query about my problems getting NPVR to record.

The error message "Access to C:\ProgramData\NPVR\config.xml is denied" is part of the mystery!..

Well, it's a mystery to me. :confused:

Thanks

Robin

  Manual Recurring Recordings
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2011-04-25, 03:12 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

I would like to setup NPVR to record programmes which may come along in the future. An example is I would like to record all episodes of “Red Dwarf” but the problem is that the series number is included in the title. At the moment episodes of “Red Dwarf II” and “Red Dwarf VI” are being broadcast so I have setup two recurring recordings. Setting “Match start of title” does not appear to catch both series from just one recurring recording entry. At the moment I try to remember do a search every week to see if a different series being broadcast so I can record it. Is there any way to setup NPVR to record “Red Dwarf *” on a particular channel? NEWA has a manual recurring option but that is based on a specified time slot only not a programme title.

  channel setup
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2011-04-24, 07:34 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hi,

Quote:- added ability to get DVB listing from another device. For example, you might get tv listing for an DVB-C or analog channel, from a DVB-S device in the same machine (even if the channel isnt listed on the DVB-S capture source)

So how do I do that?

Specifically, I have 3 devices, and 2 lineups:

Device1 = WinTV PVR-150
Device2 = WinTV PVR-350
Device3 = DTV-DVBS-878

Devices 1 & 2 can capture my cable company analog service channels, using simple analog tuners.
Device #1 can also capture my satellite company service over composite input, with HaupBlast.exe changer.
Device #3 cannot capture anything (encrypted), but it can see the entire EPG of my satellite company.

Now I figured how to make both devices #1 and #2 use the XMLTV file that I have for the cable service.

How do I tell #1 about all the channels it can see on the composite input?

How do I tell #1 that those new channels require HaupBlast.exe but the analog ones do not?

Oh - and there is no "Israel" in the list of countries...

Thanks, sub, guys!

GoodGuys.

  Can't Interface With Analog (S-Video)
Posted by: LewE - 2011-04-24, 03:30 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have a Hauppauge 2250 and two 1600 capture cards. In GBPVR I useed the 1600s to get 1 QAM channel and interface with two set top boxes via s-video.

Although I can play back previously recorded programs when I try to view Live TV via the set top boxes I just get a blue screen and noise.

I rebooted the computer and then triedd to view Live TV and have attached the logs.

Any help to get past this would be appreciated.

  Resuming a video
Posted by: imilne - 2011-04-24, 12:52 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (28)

The following "seems" to work:

Code:
Int32 duration = new Int32(); int position = PlaybackPositionHelper.GetPlaybackPosition(path, out duration); PluginHelperFactory.GetPluginHelper().PlayVideoFile(path); IPlaybackProxy proxy = PluginHelperFactory.GetPluginHelper().GetPlaybackProxy(); proxy.SetPosition(position);

But like most code pulled from the innards of an API I don't really understand, I'd like to know if it's ok?

Thanks

Iain

  How To Turn Off GBPVR
Posted by: LewE - 2011-04-24, 11:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have GBPVR running and wanted to try out NPVR. The Guide says to not have both programs attempt to use the same tuners. How do I turn off GBPVR so there is no conflict?

  Analog setup and backup
Posted by: fuchstractor - 2011-04-24, 09:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

This may seem an ancient story for some of you, but a part of the world, even if there's already some form of DVB broadcast, still uses an analog system. (As for me, it's analog cable service with some 50 channels.)

A major portion of the channels are widescreen now, but lazily developed drivers and/or factory software are simply ingnorant, so I just get black bars watching widescreen (16:9) programs on a widescreen monitor.

I've been looking for some PVR application, and found NPVR. I was able to set up the analog reception with SoftPVR on my hardware, which is Leadtek Winfast PxDTV 2300 H, so far so good. (It has configurable aspect ratio and letterbox handling, yay)

It's very inconvenient that there isn't any possibility for scanning. In my case setting up 50 channels manually, well, it takes quite some work and determination. But it's okay, I would do that - if I have to do it only once in a lifetime.
But how could I make a backup of the tuned channels? If the OS (WinXP) is reinstalled or changed, I will just lose the settings... I can't find it in any files, so I'm clueless now.

Is there any way to backup the analog channels?

  recordings from Prime channel won't play since yesterday
Posted by: smiffypr - 2011-04-24, 07:56 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I'm receiving my signal from the Kapiti (Ngarara) transmitter.
Last night I tried to watch "Going Postal", and NPVR wouldn't play it (no audio or video or duration on the time bar). PowerDVD10 wouldn't play it either, but smplayer would.
Today, I have three more programs recorded off Prime, and none will play in NPVR.

Top Gear Australia will play in PDVD10, but I can't navigate the time line. If I play it in smplayer, I can step forward, but the display shows the total duration as zero.

Fifth Gear plays OK in PDVD10 and smplayer, but again the display shows the total duration as zero.

QI won't play at all in PDVD10 but will play in smplayer, with a duration of zero again.

Most channels seem fine, only Prime, Maori TV,TVCentral, TV33 and Parliament TV (all on frequency 762000) seem to have the problem, and I can't even watch them live. It's as if they have changed something in the transmissions. NPVR logs don't show anything odd at recording time,

Anyone else having problems with Prime? Or maybe its just from this transmitter?
