I am all for precision, but surely this is a tad ridiculous....

Fan Art in the Video Library
Posted by: smajor - 2011-03-02, 11:49 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

- added basic fanart support in Video Library

sub,

Could you flesh this out a little more? I had fan art with GB-PVR (mostly backgrounds). It is in the format: moviename-fanart.jpg

There are a bunch of batch file-renamers out there, so no worries if the filename format changed.

NPVR stops recording a few times per week and makes crashdump
Posted by: andcar - 2011-03-02, 08:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I have used NPVR for a few monthes now on Win 7 and have used GBPVR before that.
The problem is that the recording stops working a few times a week. A message is displayed that a crashdump has been created and the program stop working until I have restarted the computer. Then it works for a few days again.
I am not sure it allways happens during recording, I don't think so, but the recording service stops and no recording av made after the crash.

Pixellated picture when streaming .. live tv or recording
Posted by: softfoot - 2011-03-02, 06:16 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

I have installed the latest npvr and it works well with my Haupauge NOVA-S card (FreeSat in the UK) ... at least for recording and normal playback via NEWA (using VLC).

However, any attempt to stream either a recording or live-tv gives me a pixellated picture.

I cannot figure out if this is a VLC or nPVR issue?

I have tried VLC 117/103/099 at both ends - to no avail.

I seem to remember a similar issue with GBPVR that I think was a codec problem.

Any idease/suggestions welcome
Dave

Tuner priority - is this how it's supposed to work?
Posted by: JP23 - 2011-03-02, 02:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (29)

Hi,

I have a DVB-S tuner at the bottom of my device list, so it should be last choice. I find that if I start playing a channel that is available only on this tuner, and then change channel - say to BBC1, which is available on my DVB-T tuners, it is still played using the DVB-S tuner. If I now try to play a DVB-S only channel on a client, then I receive a 'no tuner available' message.

Is this the intended behaviour?

I understand that I'm getting faster channel changes this way than if NPVR changed tuner to use the DVB-T tuner, but it doesn't seem to be making the best use of resources.

Playing DVD's without menu: having NPVR
Posted by: BlAdEs - 2011-03-02, 12:15 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

Often I play ripped DVD's (VIDEO_TS + AUDIO_TS) without menu's. When starting the playback goes fine, but I cannot stop it. Stop doesn't do anything.
Next, since there is no menu I cannot (or dunno how) change/set subtitles. The Ctrl-Y shortcut doesn't work.

Only way to stop the playback: ctrl-alt-del - taskmgr - End process...

Solution for this? Related to codecs perhaps ? (Using SAF)

Skip ahead causes hang during playback
Posted by: fiteclub - 2011-03-02, 05:22 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (20)

While trying to FF during the playback of the tv show 20/20 the video freezes and then after about a minute returns to npvr recordings menu. This has happened on several different recordings, but not all recordings. Some behave properly. I have zipped and attached log files. Time stamp for trouble is: 2011-03-02 00:08:19.790

  NPVR (v2.0.3) Hauppauge 2250 QAM
Posted by: SFX Group - 2011-03-02, 03:27 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (20)

Hi

Ive checked, cant find an answer....

Installed the Hauppauge 2250 card, NPVR sees the QAM (and ATSC) tuners, did a search found 93 QAM channels, doesnt seem to play anything (black screen, however doesn look like its "playing", so cant be sure its not the receiver), how do i debug this?

I dont want to overfix something that isnt broken, i'm not 100% sure the system its on will play MPEG2 (i dont use NPVR on this system, its more a record, then watch that file on another system), however to test i always make sure it will play it, in this case its not.

Ive never used a tuner before (was always composite in GBPVR so never tested this soft of thing).

I have copied the settings to both QAM tuners, the status shows its only plating one tuner, however looks like its not rendering it.

Will give a go at recording then seing if theres video data in that file.

Ive only loaded the Hauppauge drivers (not WinTV7), however as this was for older analog cards and that NPVR sees the card, dont think i need it.

ideas?

  Upgrading to NPVR 2.0.3
Posted by: SickBoy - 2011-03-02, 02:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Quick question for sub/anyone else who was already running 1.5.36 and upgraded to 2.0.3 - what's the proper procedure for upgrading? Uninstall old version first or just run new installer over the top of the old install? Are capture source configurations retained from version to version?
