Not sure what the deal is, but neither the regular search or the advanced search screen find any results, no matter what I search for.

  DVB-S Tuning .ini questions
Posted by: RattyDAVE - 2011-02-17, 04:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I am trying to update my transponder list and there seem to be some differences in the .ini

NPVR .ini in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Tuning\DVB-S

Code:

Is there a definition for the NPVR format of the ini file?
Is there a converter that I could use?

Thanks in advance.

  NEWA Bug?
Posted by: chuck_2330 - 2011-02-17, 11:43 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

Thinks seem to be going fairly well with the new setup but I've noticed what may be a bug in the Enhanced Web Administration component.

Using the html interface (ie localhost/Manage.aspx, not localhost/Manage2.aspx) there is no Delete button beside each recording. In the CSS version (ie Manage2.aspx) the delete button is there. Under GBPVR, there was always a delete button.

Hope this can be fixed as we use the NEWA interface exclusively.

dvb-epg guide listings problem & suggestion
Posted by: dumbledore - 2011-02-17, 06:35 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

hi

so i have all my channels set to use the dvb (atsc) guide listings.
sometimes when i'm browsing through channels live and then go back to the guide listings, it seems like the guide listings for one channel have been imported onto the wrong channel number, causing the listings for that channel to be merged with another channel, and it screws things up pretty bad. i'm not sure how to fix this...

also, is there any reason why the atsc epg doesn't pull in the show descriptions as well as the names? i know this data is available from broadcast because it shows up on my hdtv when you press the info button, and the tv has no internet connection.

thankx

  No sound from Live TV
Posted by: Russ1 - 2011-02-17, 05:15 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I'm in New Zealand, close to the author it seems.

I get no sound with live TV, DVB-T (Freeview). I do get it with the same connection on a regular TV. I do get it with the bundled software that came with my AVlabs USB tuner, but I don't like that programme and it can't cope properly.

I have installed the patches in the top thread.

Attached are the logs and a screen cap of the settings.

In HE-AAC setting I have a choice of "ffdshow Audio Decoder" only.
In AAC Audio I have "ffdshow Audio Decoder", "Nero Audio Decoder 2", "MPC - RealAudio DEcoder", and "Cyberlink Audio Decoder(KWorld)". None of them work.

I can play video I have stored on my computer in nPVR and audio works.

I'm not THAT literate at this type of stuff, so please be gentle.

I have searched on this forum to no avail for a solution.

Windows XP SP3.

Also - is there a list of keyboard commands somewhere?

Thank you.

Suggestions for converting DVDs to MPG for MVP playback
Posted by: wtg - 2011-02-17, 04:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (15)

I'm trying to convert my wife's work-out videos to mpgs so she can avoid juggling DVDs and I'm having trouble finding a rock-solid way to do the conversion. So far my best results have come from VLC (isos -> mpg) - nothing else I tried kept the audio synched properly. However these results aren't perfect because the timeline displays incorrectly (several minutes too short) and trying to fast forward or skip causes playback to restart at the beginning.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a flawless way to do this, something that provides a video that will playback well using NPVR and the MVP?

  Glitch with video player
Posted by: cathrynm - 2011-02-17, 02:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Does anyone else get this glitch with the video player? I'm playing on a secondary monitory, that's TV resolution. When I start a video, often the screen will be incorrectly zoomed in. If I click the 'aspect ratio' button, the problem is always fixed, and the video returns to fill the screen properly.

I think it might have something to do with playing a high-res video on a lo-res screen. It looks like when I first start, the videos are playing the center of the video, as if it was playing full-resolution cropping off the edges and only showing the center.

  Upgrade problem
Posted by: Waynesm - 2011-02-17, 01:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

When I upgrade the Oct 15 version to 1.5.36 I have no Tv. A scan at this point finds no channels. When, as I have just done, restore system image the previous version reinstates all channels and works perfectly.
I will select live tv now and post logs then install 1.5.36 and post logs at that point.
Thanks, in advance,for any help.
Waynesm
P.s I don't want to have to reinstall Windows 7 if poss.

All done. Now have no channels

  VMR9 issue
Posted by: Croftie - 2011-02-16, 11:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (27)

What is VMR9? I just reinstalled XP due to a motherboard upgrade and now GBPVR gives this message when I try to open it.

"Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render."

All drivers and updates are installed and up to date as far as I can tell. I've tried all the suggestions posted in other threads but nothing is working.

Graphics on the old board was the onboard HD4200, new graphics is onboard HD4290. Not a lot of difference.

If I use Overlay manager GBPVR opens and seems to work OK.

What's the difference between VMR9 and Overlay manager though? Should I be looking to fix VMR9?

Thanks for your help.

Can't get client to play vid or audio
Posted by: Engineer_Ted - 2011-02-16, 11:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I tried every combination of renderers and decoders (focusing on MPEG2) to play a recorded show from the host computer.

Vido renderer options: EVR, VMR7, VMR7 custom, VMR FSE, Overlay

MPEG2 Video decoders: FFdshow, microsoft mpeg2 video decoder, CBVA DMO wrapper filt, cyberlink video/sp decoder (HP), and P2G decoder

Right now, just trying to get video working. Then I'll work on audio.

Think with GB, I used the ffdshow, but that's just not working now.

I did get the client working on another PC (as a test case) and was successful there.

I assume the video renderer isn't that important, the key is finding the proper mpeg2 video decoder? Is it safe to assume that the shows are recorded in MPEG2 format?

Using Hauppage 1950 if that makes any difference.
