I have two lineups: digital and analog. In my schedulesdirect.xml, they are well identified, but when I update EPG, I get my digital lineup. Did I miss some place where I can choose the appropriate lineup?
I've got a DVB-S tuner and 4 DVB-T tuners. With GBPVR I was able to tune all the channels and map them so that I was able to use the DVB-S TV Guide listings for all tuners, and each TV channel would show up only once in the TV Guide.
Now that I'm trying out NPVR I am finding that I can't seem to map it so that I only get each channel listed once in the TV Guide. For example, TV One shows up twice (once for the DVB-S and once for DVB-T). During the initial DVB-T tuner card setup it did ask if I wanted to use the same configuration/mappings as the first DVB-T tuner card I had setup, but it didn't ask this when it came to setting up the DVB-S card. I must be missing something. Anyone have any suggestions?
Haven't moved over to npvr yet - will probably do so when first full release comes out - since it will involve rebuilding my machine to Windows 7. But thought I'd put my oar in for a request.
We had in pvrx2 a played indicator on the recordings screen. Wondering if on npvr we can get the same on the video library.
And if possible to add another request of mine that the played indicator in on the filename only and not the path (SysteM.IO.Path.GetFilenameNoPath(string))
Check out how stupid I am: I've been checking http://www.gbpvr.com every so often for over a year now, and reading the new replies to the announcement thread for GBPVR 1.4.7, waiting for news about a new version. It was only when one of the posters there described 1.4.7 as outdated that I looked again at the forum front page and realised my mistake. Maybe there could be a message about the name change on http://www.gbpvr.com? Anyway I'm glad to be using NPVR. It's even better.
I have two questions and two problem reports about the user interface. (I've only tried the default skin, so far.)
How do you exit full screen mode?
Can you scroll the TV guide left and right using the mouse?
Here is a really nit-picking point: when you double-click a program in TV guide, then click record, you can change the recording type (daily, weekly, etc) by clicking two little left-right arrows. But if you click one of them twice without waiting in between then nothing happens (presumably because the two clicks are interpreted as a double click, and double clicking doesn't do anything there). So you have to do it again more slowly. This can really throw off your rhythm if you have a lot of programs to set up. If those left-right buttons could be told not to expect double clicks that would be cool.
If I open settings from the right-click menu in stay-on-top mode (Doctor, it hurts when I do this ...), the settings window comes up behind the main application window. I can't close the settings window because it's behind the main window, and I can't interact with the main window until the settings window is closed, so if I do want to interact with the main window I have to kill NPVR and start it again.
my media files are on a NAS, and I would like to enter a path (\\server\volume) instead than mappping it to a letter, as UNC paths seem to be more reliable.
Apparently the NPVR dialog for choosing media folders allows me to go only through drives mapped to letters.
Against my wishes, my home is filling up with feminine iFruit technology. My wife has requested that I put iTunes on my brand new, perfectly working GBPVR machine so she can listen to her Abba and Lady Gaga tunes through the living room system (when I am not home).
Does iTunes behave itself on an HTPC? Seems like every time I go near my wife's machine iTunes is throwing up boxes begging to be updated or something else.
Long story short, I'm an idiot and had to reformat my PC because apparently I can't tell the difference between a bad HDD and 8 blown capacitors on the motherboard, so I figured I'd play the masochist this week and install 1.5.whatever.was.released.Christmas.Eve.
After a couple failed installs involving .Net framework, then Windows Firewall (where I briefly installed GBPVR 1.47 only to have the same issue getting the MVP to find the server before the light bulb lit up in my head), including installing XP twice, I finally have 1.5.w.w.r.C.E installed, my 2 analog capture sources are listed, I have an EPG and I can play a couple old recordings left over from 1.4.7... on the MVP... using dongle.bin if that makes a difference.
When I navigate through videos to the location they're stored in, I get nothing, no video or audio when playing through NPVR on the server. I have basically no decoding options in setup. I think there's one for audio, and all that does is cause the recording I play to stop after a couple seconds. If I leave it on default it's 'acting' like it's playing, I just can't see or hear anything.
Is this a case where I need to install decoders, kinda like Windows MCE where you either have to install a DVD player or pay for MMpeg decoders in order to play a DVD? I have PowerDVD somewhere I can install if that will help.

Hi, I'm a pretty new user of GBPVR and have been tweaking and playing with plugins for the past couple of weeks. Anyway, from what I've read here on the forums, IMDB has changed their site completely so the 'scraping' that SearchWiz does for the program details is not working. I'm actually quite happy with SearchWiz otherwise and would like to figure out how I could have SearchWiz query MovieDB instead.
