I wish there was a "NMT Tray Icon" plugin for nPVR with similar function as the MVPTrayIcon for GBPVR. Having now switched to nPVR, I miss being able to see the status of the NMTs.

Also miss the nPVR tray icon indicating the recording status.

I'm in the middle of replacing some of my HTPC's bits and bobs, and figured it was as good a time as any to move from XP to Windows 7 while I was at it. But - and it's a very subtle but - the video quality I'm seeing with 7/EVR is not as good as XP/VMR9.

With MPEG2 I'd say they're identical, and probably with 720p AVC too, but the 1080i HD broadcast material (mainly BBC stuff) isn't. Even the wife agrees, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not :eek:

DXVA should be happening in all cases yes (XP and 7)? The same decoder is in use (PDVD7), although I've tried the MS one too. I've even chucked the same video card in (an ATI HD4550) so it can't be that. I know 7/VMR9 won't give DXVA with AVC content, so I've tried that with software decoding, and to be honest, I'm not even convinced 7/EVR was better than that! Should I have aero on or off for the best EVR performance?

I think all I'm after is confirmation that 7/EVR should be as good as, if not better than, XP/VMR9. If so, I'll persevere and try to get to the bottom of it.

(This is all with GBPVR by the way; not NPVR, although I'd assume it shouldn't really matter).

For a while, now, many of my listings blocks have contained the "Update UltraXMLTV" message, so I finally loaded it and upgraded when prompted. Now, when I update the EPG in PVRX2, UltraXMLTV hangs and does not complete.

Naturally, I would like to fix this and would appreciate any advice as to how.

I know my base script worked but adding the mounting of DVD share seems to have broken my setup can anyone suggest where I have gone wrong?

The server share is \\w2k8r2\dvd
It uses username and password for access rather than guest.

I have created a native media share on the PCH and can play the DVDs without a problem. The DVDs are backed up as vob structure i.e:

First a big thx to pBS for all testing, especially involving the LCDSmartie, LiveTV and Recording section.

This it the plug-in for handling LCD and VFD Displays.
It supports LCDSmartie (up to 4 Rows!, via registry) and iMON VFD & LCD displays Natively.
Configuration is done via an easy to read xml file.

Alternatively you could use the new External Display release for nPvr which Raply provided here.

Functions:
- Fully Custom Configurable Output for LCDsmartie depending on your need.

i use IRSS for remote, and it has events for suspend,etc and it works well for me because it's a service so can make windows wait for execution...

i had to remove the smartie rss .dll's to make it small enough to upload..[libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll] and sg_vfd.dll tho users should have that one already..

I'm trying to get some directory browsing working for a plugin, but the performance I'm seeing as it loads preview images for the UiList isn't as good as any of the built-in browsers (Videos, Pictures, etc), especially with large images sizes.

I figure it must be related to the caching of images, but I'm not 100% sure how I should be doing it?

- Can I just create a single ImageCache object (via GetInstance) and then reuse it as often as I want?

- At the time I parse the files in the directory and build the UiList, should I fire off a background thread to pre-cache everything? If so, would it be something like the following for each file?

I'd like to use NPVR but in the device settings my TV card doesn't show up. I have a Hauppauge PVR-350 installed on Vista 32bit, the latest Hauppauge driver installed. It works fine with Windows Media Center. In the log file I get these messages:

I'm using a hauppauge 45button remote and built a new mediacenter. With GBPVR I used the native Ms Remote Control commands, described here:

With NPVR some mysteries occur:
- The "*" & the "#" button give a 3 or 8 instead of an F7 for the "*" button.
- When pressing the green button, an exception is generated the the application crashes.
- The coloured buttons don't work at all, no respons.

Strange behaviour; using NPVR .36 on exact same system (win7 32bit - hauppauge changer - ...) Only difference is NPVR <=> GPVR.

Anyone ?

My problem with the Schedules Direct EPG is fixed (Thanks, Sub) so I'm trying to get my DVB satellite capture source set up. I'm running NPVR in the same box as GB-PVR so it's using the same hardware (Twinhan DVB card...1025, IIRC) and drivers. It all works fine in GB-PVR but NPVR scan doesn't find the channels. I'm using the same values in both and the ini files for the satellite are virtually identical. GB-PVR finds two channels as Unknown1(AC3) and Unknown2(AC3). Looking at the NPVR log (attached) it looks like the signal strength and quality are there (and the same as GB-PVR shows) but it doesn't appear to find the channels. The TwinhanDTV app also finds and plays them just fine so I'm pretty sure the signal is sufficient. It's looking at AMC21, tp 22 (12140V) if you want to check Lyngsat. I'm trying to get the PBS HD channels. This where I record about 80% of my shows so I'd really like to get it going so I can swing over to NPVR. Any idea where to look? Any help will be appreciated.
