No QAM channels being retrieved with HVR-2250
Posted by: Misko5 - 2010-12-30, 10:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I believe I have everything set up correctly as far as my recording source goes, set at Digital Recording Plugin - 2250 (QAM), latest drivers, latest gbpvr release...but when I click on map digital channels to EPG channels, it scans all 138 channels or so, and doesn't find any channels. I have my TV right next to my computer and swapped the coax cable between the card and the TV and my TV picks up all the channels just fine. No dice with the card however. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. Time is of the essence.

  Blank screen saver
Posted by: trummel - 2010-12-30, 10:55 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Is there any way at the moment that I can set a blank screen saver -ie nothing displayed at all. The reason I ask is that all of the current screen saver options seem to run the feeble CPU in my Atom ION clients at about 15%, which is enough to kick the (admittedly quiet) fan in after a while. Just enough to be irratating in a silent room though.

Configuring USB Surround Sound headphones for surround sound
Posted by: spotty - 2010-12-30, 09:56 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hello,

I've bought some Somic e-95 headphones,& I really like them. The sound quality seems good and they're quite cheap.
Now I've got the audio going through hdmi to the tv and when I plug in the headphones it switches to the USB headphones. This was done by making the USB audio device the default and disabling any other audio drivers other than the hdmi out.

I am using GBPVR with SAF codec pack and am suspicious that I am not getting 5.1 surround to the headphones though by looking at the filters (but Im not really sure).

Any advice, software tools, help etc would be appreciated.

John

You can find them at http://www.goodluckbuy.com/champion-vers...-e-95.html

  Schedule Direct Issues
Posted by: zed - 2010-12-30, 04:28 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I've been putting off looking at NPVR until Schedules Direct support was added. So today I downloaded the latest file and installed it. It installed OK as far as I can tell and the ATSC channel scan worked OK and found all the local channels but when I try to map them into the Schedules Direct channels I don't seem to get all of them from Schedules Direct. I have several that have sub-channels, like KAETDT1, KAETDT2, KAETDT3, and KAETDT4. The problem is that the SD channel drop-down only seems to show the last sub-channel for each channel, i.e. KAETDT4 in this example, so I can't map the others. They're all present in the SD report and it works with GB-PVR so I think SD is OK. I'm probably not doing something correctly...any ideas? Thanks...

  HD-PVR setup help
Posted by: SickBoy - 2010-12-30, 04:27 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Hi again,

Just got a Hauppage HD-PVR with my Christmas money and am having some issues getting it set up.

What is working:
- Channel changing, am doing that via timmoore firestb and channel.exe
- I get a video signal in live TV mode
- Audio works when testing the HD-PVR passthru connected to the TV

What is not working:
- No audio through the PC
- Video shows a scrolling message regarding an elecard codec or SDK that needs to be purchased/upgraded with a watermark in the upper right corner... (?)

What I've not tried:
- Recording and playback of recordings made by the HD-PVR

Since the channels that my HDHR can tune, I know it's not a larger issue with the hardware config. Those channels work fine with the decoders I have chosen (Cyberlink Video Decoded PDVD10, ATI MPEG Audio Decoder, and AC3Filter).

  MPG Playback Issue
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2010-12-30, 03:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem playing back some mpg's that I have. I noticed this with version 1.5.33 with all the patches, 1.5.36, and 1.5.36 with the patches. The issues are:

1) The timeline is incorrect. For example, one video will be 1:01:43 but the timeline will show 3:13:25. Both Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player will show 1:01:43. This particular file is 13.6 GB.
2) When I skip forward, it seems that it will start to skip forward from the last time I skipped forward. So, if I skipped forward up until the 5 minute mark, watched 10 minutes, and then attempted to skip forward again, it would start back at the 5 minute mark.
3) Occasionally the video/audio will randomly freeze. I am able to hit ESC, wait about a minute, and then it will exit and return back to the list of videos.
4) Occasionally the audio will get out of sync.

I tried using different video/audio decoders but that didn't seem to help. One interesting thing that I've noticed is that since I've changed from using FFDShow from my video/audio decoders, it still uses them.

Thanks for your help.

  EPG won't update
Posted by: nate - 2010-12-30, 01:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Under the Capture Sources tab, I have EPG Update set to run at 2am. This doesn't seem to work.

Every week I select one of the my DVB-S cards, click edit then Update EPG. This works fine.

How can I figure out what's stopping the automatic update EPG from running?

  NPVR not responding
Posted by: stevenb - 2010-12-30, 12:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hi

I have installed 1.5.36 on a Win XP machine with HVR-4000 as the tuner, scans and finds the channels all fine, but when going to LIVE TV locks up in the not responding state.

Pretty sure I have done all the required updates, any advice?

  Suggestion: Emulation within NPVR
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-12-29, 09:08 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

A long time since the last "gamezone" built is over and it does not looks like, that gamezone will be adapted to NPVR.

A HTPC is the ideal consoleplatform for playing arcadegames and stuff. So, what shall we do?

We have four options left:
1. We drop the fun of any console emulation.
2. We're using the "programs plugin" offered for NPVR. But this one doesn't work right on my systems (no arguments will be used).
3. We add every emulator separately as custom task. This isn't funny and the steering is...
4. We're just using an external frontend for our emulators!

I have decided to use the "emuControlCenter". This is a very nice frontend, which has a clear look, is good structured, has a wide preconfigured support for different emulators. And best of all: It can be steered simple with a gamepad! No need to play around with keyboard/mice for starting any emulators/games.

Just try it out: http://www.camya.com/
