Posted by: Beaulieu - 2011-01-03, 12:19 PM - Forum: Blinky and PhotoCopy Plugins - No Replies

I'm about 80% there with a zip utility to automatically zip up the GBPVR Logs and place them into a directory.

Anyone else seeing this one ?

  32 vs 64? 7 vs xp pro?
Posted by: skyking - 2011-01-03, 04:12 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Hello all!
I had a xp32 bit GB-PVR install that I used for a while, and I think I was plagued by some flaky hardware. It became unusable. I want to go at it again.
I am leaning toward win7 over the old OS. Any reason not to?
What about 32 vs 64 in this application?
ThanksSmile

  Assistance no problem!
Posted by: steeb - 2011-01-03, 12:40 AM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (35)

Dear all,

guy's and gal's,

NPVR Wiki has actually tried to keep up with NPVR.

The Authors of plugins and skins rose to the occasion, and New wiki for NPVR is here:

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php

it should never be a case of 'how' do I put something on the wiki.

It should be a case of 'perhaps' I could put something on the wiki?

If you would like to put something on the wiki ASK Big Grin

Thank you and a very happy New Year

Steeb

NPVR can't stop recording and hangs
Posted by: msantic - 2011-01-02, 08:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hello!

Here is my configuration:

- Windows XP SP3 with latest patches
- NPVR v1.5.36 with latest patches
- 3 x Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T PCI
- XMLTV source for EPG .

My PC can handle recording 12 different TV shows from 3 different DVB-T MPEG2 MUX-es.
Problem is when recordins must stop, then recording service hangs and all current recordings stops.
I have to restart recording service and everything works OK until again any recording must stop which again crash recording service.

Please help.

Thank you!

Greetings from Croatia,

Mladen

  SkyStar 2 ver 2.3P
Posted by: verdiverdi - 2011-01-02, 06:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Hello

I would use nPVR with my SkyStar 2 ver. 2.3 P, but I have some problems because to use npvr the BDA drivers are needed. I tried all of those which have been made by Technisat, but none of them have worked regardless of whatever software I use
The OS that I use for my tests is Windows XP SP2.
Before I used XP SP3 but I read somewhere that BDA driver and SP3 have more problems.
Does anybody have any experience with this?

Thank you

Al

  SchedulesDirect Utilities Updated
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2011-01-02, 05:29 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (24)

9/22/2014 *** Schedules Direct Utilities will no longer work with the move of source data to JSON based API. I am not sure if I will remediate the utility to work with the JSON API or not. ***

SchedulesDirect Utilities has been updated.

This utility now provides extended EPG data to EWA(GBPVR) and NEWA (NPVR) users that utilize SchedulesDirect EPG data.

NPVR Users will need the attached NEWA patch & NPVR patch to re-enable the feature within NEWA until the next NPVR release.

This release has the following changes:

  • Utility now supports both EWA for GBPVR and NEWA for NPVR.
You can download it from the wiki page or from here directly.

Source code is also available on the wiki at the bottom of the page or from here directly.

If you have any questions or problems please post in this Support Sub-Forum.

Enjoy! Big Grin

FYI: S3 problems under Windows 7 x64 (not fully working as it should)
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-01-02, 03:27 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

A lot of people seems to have problems with their multicore cpus under windows 7 x64 if they try to get advantage of the "real" S3 mode.
Many systems just go only in ACPI S1 mode (easy to recognize: the fans inside the pc are running).
But these systems hadn't (as example) absolutely no problem with this under windows vista x64 or even windows 7 x86. This seems to be a bug inside windows 7 x64.

If you're looking for solutions, or help, then you'll see just a bunch of useless informations. "Install mce standby tool*!" (*replace this piece of software with any other 'solution'). But this is no "solution". It's not even a workaround.

So, if you are searching more, then 'perhaps' you'll find the information of a existing 'hotfix' for windows 7 x64. The hotfix is known under the name 'Windows6.1-KB977307-x64'. You can get it here.

Yeah, one of my systems had this problem. I have just found the (working) solution. Over 17 weeks i searched for the solution. Played around with 'powercfg -energy', tested different firmwares and a lot of different bios settings.

Finally... peace... S3 is working well. I am happy. Hopefully this information can help one or two people with the same problems... Big Grin

Help - I screwed somthing up
Posted by: ElihuRozen - 2011-01-02, 01:35 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I was using an MVP with GBPVR until I got a PCH-110 in August. I started using that with GBPVR until I upgraded to NPVR in mid-December. That was working fine until I upgraded to 1.5.36. I had problems with my analog tuners with Sub fixed in a recent patch. Trying to get it working, I uninstalled & installed & went back & forth between 1.5.33 & 1.5.36. Now, I can't get the PCH to connect to NPVR. I am not sure when it stopped working. All I know is that it did work with 1.5.33 & now it doesn't work with 1.5.36. I tested to see if it would still connect with GBPVR & it does. I use a USB stick & I have it automatically start the emulation since I only use it with GBPVR/NPVR. When I try to connect, it displays the screen that says it will load automatically unless I hit ENTER & after the indicated seconds it attemps to bring up the interface. It never succeeds & keeps retrying.

This is my output from NMT Syntax Checker:

Code:

Checking NMT Version Checking NMT Display Calling NMT Source

I attached a zip of the contents of my USB stick that is attached to the NMT. (I removed the Plugin.Music.zip & Skin.Mayhem3.zip from this zip file to save upload space. I should probably delete them from the USB drive, as well.)

I also attached my logs. (Two logs were in use since I am recording so I had to use copies of them in the zip.)

  Weird issue with audio playback
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2011-01-01, 11:20 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (1)

I have run into a weird issue with one of my a-100 PCHs. I am at a loss as to whether this is a software or a hardware issue. It stopped being able to play any audio streams (music or video) other than DTS and AC3 pass through including mp3. However the same files will play fine through the NMT interface (I tested the mp3 ones)

I have another A-100 with the same latest firmware without the issue. They are identical in their setup.

I posted this to the PCH forum but it got buried among other similar complaints.
