can't play m4v files on NMT through NPVR
Posted by: steveum - 2010-12-29, 08:45 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

I would like to be able to play m4v files on the NMT with NPVR. I can certainly play these directly on the NMT as a share or through myihome. If I try to play them from the NPVR videos menu, it either kicks me all the way back out to the NMT menu or back to the NPVR menu. I suspect I could just rename these to mp4 files and it would work. I would like to be able to keep the m4v extension though. The m4v extension appears to suggest the file may have multiple audio streams and chapter markers in the itunes, iphone and appletv ecosystem.

In a separate thread, Martin suspects that sub would need to add this extension to a hard coded list of extensions that can be streamed to the NMT.

  Black screen on Live TV?
Posted by: Bluethunder - 2010-12-29, 07:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I've been playing with NPVR for a while, fiddling around, and getting stuff to work.

I've run into a road block with Live TV, all I get is a black screen with audio. The playback counter and bar all display as well. Just no TV.

I'm running a Haup HDPVR. I also have TME installed on the machine as well. I do have the input set to component on the hdpvr.

I have PDVD7 with h264 playback, that works in both GBPVR, and in NPVR playing existing .ts files, as I have that set for h264 playback.

I've attached NPVR.log and Nrecord.log

Thanks!

  HDMI suppression while recording
Posted by: jw100 - 2010-12-29, 07:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When the PC comes out of sleep mode to record, the TV source switches to the HDMI port, away from the TV's internal tuner. This is desirable behaviour when turning the PC on to watch a recording, but a nuisance at other times. Has anyone found a way to stop the video coming on when the PC resumes for a recording event, until a remote button is pressed?

  high cpu usage
Posted by: steveum - 2010-12-29, 06:42 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (13)

I have noticed that when I have NPVR running and it is just showing menus, it has a rather high cpu usage for just showing a static image. Once I start playing a video, the usage goes way down. I don't recall GBPVR behaving this way. Is this normal or is there something incorrectly configured on my computer. I am running Windows 7.

New install with a black screen
Posted by: clydebuilt - 2010-12-29, 05:22 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I have installed NPVR and initially had problems with error message on recording or live TV.

Uninstalled and re-installed NPVR and now it opens with a plain black screen - no menu items. I have obviously missed or done something silly but can anyone tell me what?

Device status from tray shows no text but does have a green light top left - is this normal?

Hoping for your help.

  Stopping playback with mouse
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-12-29, 04:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Prior to 1.5.36 I could use the right click on the mouse to stop video (sometimes it would go too many clicks) but now right click opens a popup menu. On the menu I can stop by using the Menu but it drops me way out. I liked the old way, but I figure that you might add some navigation on this menu, could you add a stop in the meantime?

  1.5.36 skin issues
Posted by: McBainUK - 2010-12-29, 03:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I would expect to see the cover art for the selected track on the music playlist popup (see attached).

So does the skin it seems:

Code:
<Element name="PlaylistBackground" location="0,0" size="100,100" alpha="255"> <Rect location="0,0" size="100,100" fillColor="Popup_ScreenMask" /> <RoundedRect location="9.83,19.1" size="80.34,61.8" fillColor="Popup" borderColor="Popup_Border" radius="2.59" borderWidth="0.1"/> <Rect location="10,19.1" size="61.85,0.3" fillColor="Accent1_Horizontal_FadeIn"/> <Rect location="71.8,19.1" size="18.2,0.3" fillColor="Accent1_Horizontal_FadeOut"/> <Rect location="10,80.5" size="18.7,0.3" fillColor="Accent1_Horizontal_FadeIn"/> <Rect location="28.2,80.5" size="61.8,0.3" fillColor="Accent1_Horizontal_FadeOut"/> <Rect location="60.8,25" size="0.10,25" fillColor="Accent2_Vertical_FadeIn"/> <Rect location="60.8,49.9" size="0.10,25.1" fillColor="Accent2_Vertical_FadeOut"/> <Text text="Playlist" location="9.77,63.77" size="79,20" font="Title4ExtraLarge"/> <Text text="Now Playing:" location="11.38,22.25" size="11,20" font="Title2Small"/> <Text text="@name" location="21.77,21.77" size="66,5" font="Title1" wrap="true"/> [U][B]<Image source="@previewImage" location="62,30" size="25,42" fixedAspectRatio="true"/>[/B][/U] <Text text="@position" location="66,75" size="30,20" font="Title3Minimum" align="Center"/> </Element>

No Playback via MVP on NPVR....
Posted by: systemshark - 2010-12-29, 03:36 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Folks,

I've got a ethernet based NPVR (not wireless) connected to a NPVR server (1.5.36) and Martin's newest Dongle.bin.

When I select a recording or live TV for playback. the Screen goes blank and after about 30 seconds MVP reboots and returns to the NPVR Menu.

Here's the Live TV Log error :

Minor default skin issues & a question about TheTVDb
Posted by: smajor - 2010-12-29, 03:31 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (7)

Hi, I just installed TV Listings... pretty impressive! Nice work!

I noticed two minor skin issues, first:

Notice the start/end time (yellow text). The "M" is cut off. I noticed this only happens when the hour is double-digits for both start and end e.g. 11:00 - 12:00. 12:00 - 1:00 would not have this issue.

Next, this is probably a sub issue... but on the main menu TV Recordings the "s" flows into the selected menu item next to it:

Finally, my TVDb question: is there a way (or could a preference be added) that if you've linked a show to TheTVDb, that it's description overrides/replaces your guide's description. I find them better and more accurate. Obviously, this would have to have some logic that IF TheTVDb doesn't have a description, it would fall back to the guide's.
