I'm not sure if this is an mvpmc issue or an npvr issue so I just thought I'd post here.

I'm running npvr 1.5.36 and latest dongle.npvr.bin (also tried previous mvpmc dongle). I have a recording (made with npvr) which is causing problems on playback, specifically skipping (unsurprisingly).

I start playing it and if I hit the Blue button on my remote, the timeline correctly shows the start time up until about ~18 seconds into the recording. At this point, the start time on the timeline shows 00:-52:-55 (the end time on the timeline remains correct).

The recording plays perfectly with npvr on my PC and shows the correct timeline and will skip forwards/back without problems and without losing AV sync.

I encode my DVD's using Handbrake's high profile setting. They look great, except only when viewing a uniformly dark scene. Then, blockiness is visible. I use DXVA and tried several DXVA-enabled codecs; Divx, Cyberlink, ffdshow, and the one I typically use, mpc-hc. All showed the blockiness. Then I tried the "standard" ffdshow encoder without DXVA and it looked great; no blockiness. Is this a typical result of using DXVA? I'd like to use DXVA, as some of my videos cannot be played smoothly without it.

Edit 1: CoreAVC doesn't have any artifacts for me in dark scenes, and with CUDA the CPU usage is "almost" as low as with DXVA, so I can play anything...ta da!

Edit 2: CoreAVC had it's own problems, namely panning was not smooth. I solved the problem with DXVA this afternoon and I'm stoked. I figured since all the decoders had the problem, it must be a driver problem. It turned out I had enabled a "feature" called "Dynamic Contrast Enhancement", which caused the blockiness problem. Hope this helps someone with a similar problem.

I'm trying to set up an IR Blaster that came with the Microsoft MCE Remote 2004 (version 1). The wiki states that GBPVR is compatible with this version but I am getting nothing from the blaster. The remote works fine for controls but the blaster does not flash at all. When I select the MCE 2005 Plugin as my channel changer and then try to edit the settings, I don't get any instructions to do key presses. The little box just says waiting and then claims all my instructions have been learned. Is this feature not natively supported? Do I need to setup HIP in order to make this work?

After installing nPVR 1.5.36 any video played through TVListings, either Live TV, in progress recording, or completed recording, stutters very badly. The same file watched through default TV guide or with recordings, plays smoothly. Are different decoders used?

The current server that runs NPVR is a bit of beast and happily consumes 120W idling, it also runs Windows 2008 R2 as the OS as it is my lab server. I'm looking to move to a dedicated NPVR and DVD library server that runs Windows 7 and is easier to support. What would be a recommended spec for running NPVR with Live TV yo a maximum of 4xPCH clients?

Which out of CPU, memory or graphics card is most critical to overall performance of the NPVR server?

This error happens only on nPVR clients and seems to be depending of the account of installed tuners.
This is NO new error, i have this since the first nPVR release, but because of the poor streamingperformance (nobody of us used live tv via lan because of the stuttering and asynchronity with all tested decoders).

We start at channel 1, watching for 10 seconds. Then using PgUp and go to the 2nd channel. Watching for 10 seconds going to the 3rd channel. After more 10 seconds we go to the 4th channel. Till now all is fine. If i now try to "zap" to the next channel, then i'll get the message "the tuner being used for live tv is no longer available".

It looks like, that nPVR is going through all 4 tuners of this channel guide (the 5th tuner has another guide) and then just stops instead using one of the free tuners.

For me this is a low priority bug, because in television is most time only trash... But just to let you know (and perhaps fix this for other people).

I've upgraded from .33 to .36 and now keeping getting the error "unable to find available capture device". Previously the configuration was working, the card is a "Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-S Tuner/Demod" any thoughts?

I really don't get it. How can whatever weird signal it's getting when the TV and amp turn back on force it into sleep mode? It can't be a hardware fault, because it doesn't happen with XP.

The PC's HDMI output is from an ATI HD4550, sitting in an Asus M2A-VM motherboard.
