"Prompt for resume" option in NPVR
Posted by: Sheik Yerbouti - 2010-12-26, 12:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I'm missing the option "Prompt for resume" in the setup of NPVR. I'd like to turn it off for the Videos plugin, it's not very handy for home videos.

1.5.36 Multiple Video & Sound Issues
Posted by: BTJustice - 2010-12-26, 11:57 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I just started using NPVR and I am having a few issues I was not having with GB-PVR...

  1. A lot of times, the video and sound are out of synch.
  2. The audio cuts out and comes back. It is like it is skipping.
  3. The video is fuzzy.
  4. The F7 ratios do not display correctly. My 16:10 monitor use to have bars on top and below the video. Now it is like it is being shown as 16:9 though I have selected 16:10 in the options. Things on video are thin and tall.

I am not sure what is going on. I tried to set up NPVR like my GB-PVR is set up. Logs are attached. Thanks in advance.

  1.5.36 issues
Posted by: Nistrod - 2010-12-26, 05:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

A couple of issues with 1.5.36:

  1. XP install needs C:\Users\Public. On my machine - I dont have it. It doesnt seem to install anything there, but gave a range of errors when installing. These went away when I created the empty directory.
  2. Still not highlighting pending recordings. See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...highlight=. Interestingly, the same shows are not highlighted on my server (Win 7) and client (Win XP). Sometimes, things are reversed - I get the show highlighted, but not the time bar at the top.
  3. High CPU load. XP, client mode = 80%. No problem on Win 7.

Update to point 3: I have a Matrox G550 video card. dxdiag says no Direct3D. There are errors in the log about Direct3D - could this cause the high CPU load? Do I need a better video card?

Thats all so far...

To post process .ts or not?
Posted by: steeb - 2010-12-25, 09:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (19)

Dear all,

he he and ho ho Xmas got in the way but what with Sub's new release and all the dev's goodies with great plugins etc I cannot see now why I wouldn't want to shift my whole HTPC system over from GB-PVR to NPVR.

It will no doubt take a few days as I think GB-PVR will be heavily used in our house over this festive period but due the great implemention of Sub (allowing GB-PVR and NPVR to run alongside each other) and Martin with his new dongle, when I can find a few quiet moments I can play away in the background Big Grin

To the point Wink

I have got so used to my recordings being .mpg's, totally understand how .ts's are working for me now (multiple recordings, same frequency) but what would be the 'boiled down version' over whether to re-process/post-process my NPVR .ts's recordings back to mpg's. What would I be losing/gaining? A simple rename from extension .ts to mpg? etc etc Do I lose some attched data doing this?

Thank you and ho ho ho Big Grin

Steeb

  NPVR 1.5.36 / NRecord.exe don't want to work
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2010-12-25, 07:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Hiho sub!

Just upgraded NPVR 1.5.33 (incl. latest hotfixes) to NPVR 1.5.36. Not very successfull, i think.
NRecord.exe don't want to work anymore (xmas mode? *buck*) and just produces a lot of system errors depending of ASP.NET 2.0.

  Universe Plugin on MVP
Posted by: Blue Racer - 2010-12-25, 04:25 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (15)

On my NMT Universe works great. I watched shows on Netflix, Hulu, CBS and the fireplace scenes. Its awesome to have this built into NPVR. I tried it with my MVP with the new dongle and I couldn't get it to work. It found Playon and let me browse my netflix listings but when I tried to play a movie it kicked me out of NPVR. I then pressed enter on the "Emulation Mode" to get back in NPVR.

Christmas is a time for wishes
Posted by: imilne - 2010-12-25, 02:46 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

So here's some of mine, in no particular order, and with no expectations of any of them being possible any time soon...

- detection of frame rate and setting the video refresh to match
- video continuing to play in an inset while browsing the menu (like in GBPVR with VMR9)
- genre support in the epg
- always remember and default to the last used aspect ratio (eg "fill")
- more HD channels on free UK TV

If you can handle that last request sub, you really are a genius Big Grin

  Newa login without password
Posted by: smiffypr - 2010-12-25, 10:42 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (26)

On version .33 I could get on without having to supply username and password. I found in the config-web.xml (in C:/Documents and settings/All Users/Application Data/NPVR) there is a parameter <autoLoginNetworks> which had a set of IP addresses which it would allow unrestricted access from. I changed the IP addresses to False so the line is now
<autoLoginNetworks>False</autoLoginNetworks>
restarted NPVR service, and I then had to login as before.

On version .36, this issue re-emerged. I looked at the same config file, and the value was "none". I changed that to "False" again and it cured the problem, i.e. I now need to enter the correct password to get on.

Jump forwards very variable on 1.5.36
Posted by: smiffypr - 2010-12-25, 08:56 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Using a windows media centre remote control, on NPVR .33 the following worked:
skip (next chapter), forward 1 minute
replay (previous chapter), back 30 seconds
forward (fast forward), forwards 10 seconds
rewind, back 10 seconds
All useful.

But on version .36 there is no consistency, e.g.
the skip button will give a jump forwards of anything from 10 to 100 seconds,
replay only jumps back 1 second sometimes, other times nearly a minute
sometimes the forward button will cause the video to go BACK 10 seconds, sometimes forwards by up to 70 seconds,
the rewind button causes a jump FORWARDS by 10-15 seconds sometimes

All very inconsistent, and almost useless.
