  NPVR - prefer AC3 audio
Posted by: csy - 2010-12-11, 04:29 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Hi Sub

With respect to NPVR, for TV channels with multiple audio streams (eg TV3) could we please have an option to prefer AC3 audio stream.

I requested this a while ago, and just reminding you Smile

  Controlling ffdshow
Posted by: 7ore - 2010-12-10, 09:48 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (13)

It would be cool if there where a way to control ffdshow from within NextPVR.
Like changing audiostream or turning Subtitles on, off or switching between them.

I've benn looking for a way to let my remote control ffdshow in the background and maybe I succeed. But it would be nice if it were possible to do directly from within npvr.
I found this page with code examples for the ffdshow API

Surf the Web on the TV
Posted by: MixMan - 2010-12-10, 08:20 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Is there anyone that surf the web on the TV with a wireless keyboard?
If so I have something that might be interesting for you. I have been (trying to) learn PHP and MySQL for the last year, by working on this project.
I have made a website, Hello World (for use on a TV) that is a personal portal with a lot of links to webcontent, like newspapers, radio, tv and video … for the most countries in the world.
I’m also working on some other functions that I use. (see picture icons)
I might include current GBPVR translations, for online editing and generation of language files.
The site could also work as a source for logos and links to a plugin.
The site is in an beta-alpha stage on my home server, but it is fully working and I use it everyday. It would be nice to get some feedback on the usability of the site.

Occasional blank screen during play back and live tv
Posted by: Spidermonkey - 2010-12-10, 03:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I have a strange niggle, when watching a recording, video or live TV every so often the TV screen goes blank for a second or so then comes back. Its like the when the monitor goes off after inactivity, the TV displays seraching for signal for a second then finds a signal and comes back on. It happens every 10 - 20 mins but can be more random than that.

The HTPC is currently connected to a Samsung HDTV via HDMI.

Initially I thought it was a problem with the system setup, ie drivers, settings etc. but after some investigation changing cables, using a different TV and using VGA output instead of HDMI I haven't been able to cured it. Finally I played a recording with WMP in fullscreen mode for an hour and the problem didn't occur.

Can anyone shed so light on this?

It's not a massive problem but it detracts from the otherwise good user experience.

NPVR 1.5.33 is installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Just on a side note I think NPVR is excellent, GBPVR was good (my parents still use it) but NPVR IMO takes good leap forward, initially I thought it looked quite restrictive campared to GBPVR but I realised after using it for while that the features I use were built into the main program and just worked from the start. Basically I think Sub and the other developers have produced an excellent product with a good feature set and capability for a modern PVR/HTPC system. Well done and thanks Smile

  Snapstream Firefly remote in Vista/7
Posted by: SickBoy - 2010-12-10, 01:54 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Anyone have the Snapstream Firefly remote working in Windows Vista or 7? When I did the test install of Win7 (32 bit) the Snapstream software install didn't seem to work.

Seems Snapstream has discontinued support for this remote control...

RECORDING STATUS WINDOW shows incorect info
Posted by: zb1 - 2010-12-10, 07:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

The Recording Status window is suppose to (and use to) show the number of tuners (2) and what was being recorded on each tuner. Now, after reinstall, it shows all the tuners (2) and all the programs that are being recorded show up under the first tuner. Why?

Additionally, GBPVR use to indicate when you were trying to record more programs than you had tuners. Now it doesn't. I will see 3 programs being recorded and have to guess which 2 of the 3 are actually being recorded. Again why?

Thank again sub.

  Media Center Remote "Guide" button
Posted by: gonzo90017 - 2010-12-09, 07:54 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

I'm using NPVR with Windows 7. My problem is that whenever I click on the Guide button it brings up NPVR's guide but the Windows Media Center also pops up. Is there a way to disable WMC popping up when NPVR is active?

  Color based on Genre NPVR?
Posted by: gonzo90017 - 2010-12-09, 06:58 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (9)

In the GBPVR plugin there used to be an option to have the guide listings show different colors based on the genre. Is this possible with TVListings for NPVR?
