When playing DVDs, for some reason it seems to be choosing "PillarBox" (but actually even thinner) instead of "Auto", and then switches to "Auto" as soon as the window is resized. I can tell that the highlighted portion of the text in the menu never seems to change no matter what (looks like it always fills the screen no matter what the settings are or when hitting F7). Anybody know exactly what the problem is?
I'm trying to get NPVR running on Win7 64bit. Setup sees the HD-PVR but all I get is a black screen. When I look at status, there is no device listed. I'm using Hauppauge cd2.4 Anyone using this setup and have it working?
I have one of these and its always been a little temperamental and after tuning some frequencies would produce a half green recording when tuning to another frequency. By that I mean half the screen is green and you can see bits of the rest of the screen in freeze frame. I've never sussed out tuning which channels would cause this as it didn't happen so often. However on a clean install (win764 pro like the previous install) with the latest technisat drivers it does this after every tune. So I can record / watch one prog and the next retune it'll produce green/useless results. Only way of clearing it that I know of is a reboot.
It is the first card defined in GBPVR and nPVR plus a HVR-4000 (which never goes wrong). GBPVR picks the skystar for recording and the HVR-4000 for LiveTV. I believe nPVR picks the last defined card (the HVR-4000) for both. Is it possible to swap the order in GBPVR without having to delete the config and do a rescan? as I think I'll cry if I have to rescan and re setup the EPG in GBPVR.
Anyone happen to have a skystar2 running in win764 with more useful drivers? I'll try finding older versions of the driver as it never used to be as useless as it is now. Ideally I'll sling it out for a new card, but dont have the spare cash at the mo...
I have an old 34 button Hauppauge remote.
It works ok with some of the buttons but nothing i the menu, only in live tv
I have tried to add an [nPVR] section to irremote.ini but nothing changed.
Is there someone who has this remote and got this to work more than a few buttons in live tv?
When I start live TV, the picture is small and in the upper left corner.
I have to go to aspect ratio and choose "fill" every time I start NPVR.
It wasn´t that from the beginning but I can´t find any option for this in the settings.
Under settings/channels I've deleted the channels I have no interest in so that my EPG is nice an small. So, say I want to re-instate a deleted channel, how do I do this without re-instating the whole lot again.
It got me to thinking there should be check boxes against each channel rather than the option to fully delete.
I haven't played with this so maybe there is an easy way.......just thinking out loud with actually looking into it fully!
PS. I have created an article (work-in-progress) on my website of my own HTPC build.....one which I hope will point others to NPVR and give our commander in arms the recognition/accolade he deserves.
When watching TV, and knowing there is a AC3 stream, there is no way to get sound.
For MPEG audio I use either the MPEG decoder or Microsoft bundled standard decoder. My decoder setting for AC3 is disabled. Seems that Win 7 handles it nicely and passes ac3 on the S/PDIF out. It works nicely for MKVs for instance, but not for TV.
It would also be nice to have an option in settings where I can choose a preferred stream. For me whenever AC3 is available, I want that stream by default. That would be on my wishlist for future relseases.
In GB-PVR you could choose this by selecting the "channel" with the AC3-stream in device setup.
I have installed FFDShow and AC3Filter but they do not show up on the decoders list...
Do I have to edit config.xml to include them? I thought N-PVR was a bit more dynamic?
PowerDVD 10 filters does show. Video seems to work (mpeg2), but not Audio.
In the H.264 list no PowerDVD filter is showing.
