  NEWA - Genre Search Missing?
Posted by: cbutera - 2010-10-14, 01:18 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

I love EWA and use it to auto-record a lot of shows. Making the transition to NPVR and when I loaded up the new EWA the Genre select list is missing. Also noticed there is a d> after Search for phrase.

Below is the HTML source:

Code:
<tr valign="top"> <td align="right"><B>Search For Phrase:d> <td align="left" style="width: 596px"><input name="_ctl0:ContentPlaceHolder1:searchPhrase" type="text" id="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_searchPhrase" size="50" /> <input name="_ctl0:ContentPlaceHolder1:caseSensitive" type="checkbox" id="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_caseSensitive" title="Selecting this will force the search to match the case of the letters entered in the search phrase." /><span>Case Sensitive&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </span> </td> </tr> <tr valign="top"> <td align="right" visible="false"><B>Genre:</B></td> <td align="left" style="width: 596px"></td> </tr>

  DVD Playback not working
Posted by: cbutera - 2010-10-14, 12:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi everyone,
Trying to make the transition to NPVR. Everything working okay for the most part - except DVD playback. Both Discs and Hard Drive ripped video_ts folders don't play video. Discs seem to at least play audio - whereas the hard drive rips don't seem to do anything.

Found this in my npvr.log

Code:
2010-10-13 19:16:15.852 [DEBUG][1] Adding EVR renderer 2010-10-13 19:16:16.317 [DEBUG][1] about to load video decoder 2010-10-13 19:16:16.422 [DEBUG][1] about to load audio decoder 2010-10-13 19:16:19.937 [ERROR][1] DVD Navigator pin failed to render 2010-10-13 19:16:25.051 [DEBUG][1] Source Aspect Ratio: 1x1 2010-10-13 19:16:25.052 [DEBUG][1] Setting display rect: 0.200000,0.000000,0.800000,1.000000 2010-10-13 19:16:25.731 [DEBUG][1] Graph filter list: 2010-10-13 19:16:25.732 [DEBUG][1] - Default DirectSound Device 2010-10-13 19:16:25.732 [DEBUG][1] - ffdshow Video Decoder 2010-10-13 19:16:25.732 [DEBUG][1] - EVR Renderer 2010-10-13 19:16:25.732 [DEBUG][1] - AC3Filter 2010-10-13 19:16:25.732 [DEBUG][1] - DVD Navigator
Specifically this is what stood out to me:
2010-10-13 19:16:19.937 [ERROR][1] DVD Navigator pin failed to render

I've tried different decoders with no luck. For what its worth the DVDs play correctly with WMP, VLC, Cyberlink, and PVRX2.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

laggy and freezes up while recording
Posted by: Andrewh - 2010-10-14, 12:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

running the last gbpvr.
Have a dual core processor 2 gb of memory and 2 dual tuner hauppague 2250's.

So I can record 4 channels at the same time.

But I find if I try to watch a recording and all 4 tuners are recording at the same time, the machine will start to lock up, or rather gbpvr shows as not responding and will either studder during play back, or just lock up for a while. It will recover on its own if you give it some time.

CPU usage is still under 10 percent total, and memory usage is pretty low too.

So I figure I must be disk bound. Running a 1.5tb sata drive.

But that really doesn't explain gbpvr locking up, or does it?
C drive is a different hard drive, where it is installed.

Is it possible to point each tuner to a different drive?
or at least each card?

Or am I looking in the wrong place?

  NPVR - DVD error
Posted by: IanJ - 2010-10-13, 08:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Hi,

Was trying out my DVD drive (1st time) since I built my HTPC.
Got as far as navigating around the DVD menu to turn off the subtitles (just happened to be the menu item I had selected to test) when NPVR crashed.

As attached.

If you want any of the NPVR logs then let me know which one.

Ian.

Do you ever get tired of looking at a plain computer case??

I was walking through a second-hand store and found Thomasville night stands for $25. So I have a new NAS case for my work room. I thought about removing the drawers but kept them in the end. Each drawer has motherboard, hard-drives and a 200mm fan in the back.

  Channel changing problem
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-10-13, 08:07 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I remember in GBPVR the recording service used devices from the bottom of the list on up, and live TV used the devices from the top on down. Has this changed?

Here's my problem: When I am recording something (stb 2) and then turn on live tv, I can see it goes to the cable box that's not recording (stb 1), but then when I change channels, it changes the channel of the box that is doing the recording (stb 2). When nothing is recording and I go to watch live tv, I see it goes to (stb 2), and changes the channel of stb 2. Is there a problem?

  Background recorder questions
Posted by: Koala Kid - 2010-10-13, 04:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I have searched the forums but cannot find answers to these questions.

1. does the background recorder run every time windows starts after I have ticked the "enable" box

2. I have set a weekly recording of a TV program every Wednesday at 9pm, does the background recorder automatically record the program if I do not start NPVR beforehand.

3. if the background recorder program runs every time windows starts, what is the name of it so I can see it in the windows task manager process list.

In case you're not following it...

A mining rescue expert went down about an hour ago (and is still there) and the first miner has been safely brought up to the surface about 10 minutes ago.

GBPVR keeps recording after end of program
Posted by: stoenjes - 2010-10-13, 03:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have a recurring recording from 1 - 2 PM for "One Life to Live". It was still recording that channel when I got home at 5 - the .ts is over 30 gigabytes. I restarted the recording service to stop the recording. I can't delete the .ts from GBPR or windows XP file manager (though it does play OK). There is still > 200 gigabytes of space on the hard drive.

I had recurring recordings tonight at 7PM for "No Ordinary Family" and "Glee" - both resulted in 0 length files. What is going on?

Recording with a Hauppauge 1600 and a USB950q and GBPVR 1.4.7

Stan
