Clicking on Timeline Bar when Playing Back Recordings
Posted by: djpup - 2010-10-15, 05:30 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

A couple of problems with the latest 1.5.33 beta release ... Both have been reported previously, but they seem still unfixed.

1. When playing back a recording of a TV program that has had its commercials (advertisements) removed using comskip, if you move the mouse pointer, you get a timeline displayed near the top of the screen, with gaps showing where the commercials have been removed. In GB-PVR you could click anywhere on the timeline to have the recorded program begin playing at that point. With NPVR, clicking on the timeline doesn't seem to affect where the recording is playing; instead it just continues along from start to finish. This is a major Wife Acceptance Factor issue for me.

2. When displaying the Electronic Program Guide, if you scroll (using the right-arrow key) beyond the end of any text, off into the blank area, then try to scroll back to the normal part of the EPG, it doesn't seem to recover properly. I can usually use the left-arrow key (or Ctrl-left-arrow) to get back to the part of the EPG where there are program listings, then use the right-arrow key and the listings will reappear, but I don't think the functionality is working as it is intended. This one is a minor, low priority annoyance.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64, in case the operating system makes a difference.

In any case, it's great to see how far NPVR has come. Given the size of the rewrite, it's in good shape for the functions I use.

  Plugin development documenation for NextPVR?
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-10-15, 01:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I'm considering taking up plugin development for NextPVR. However, I can't seem to find any documentation specifically for NPVR. I haven't done any GBPVR plugin development previously . I'm assuming it's different than writing GBPVR plugins?

My main reasons to contribute are to add the following functions:

1) Cloned video on multiple monitors: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...highlight=
2) Tracking multiple users' viewing history: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...tched-what
3) Adding the ability to play musical Playlists and AutoPlaylists that are from a MediaMonkey3 database.
4) Adding remote control, via a two-way IP socket, from multiple room-sensitive wi-fi PocketPC/Android/iPhone/iPodTouch devices running an Adobe Flash-GUI.

Given these requirements, do you think NPVR is the right choice? Or should I be looking at MediaPortal, given that its core is open source, in case I run into issues with things like adding T-filters into the DirectShow graph to support my AV cloning requirements?

Also, I remember Sub posting something about how, with NPVR, plugins will be able to add their own graphics to the core screens... is that still the case?

Thanks Smile

  7zip restriction on new wiki
Posted by: Jaggy - 2010-10-14, 10:32 PM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (18)

I just got a
"BlueRetroVE.7z: file is larger than allowed maximum of 2097152 bytes for '7z' files"

so the question is why the smaller restriction for 7z files than zip files?

  v1.5.33 - Audio micro-glitching
Posted by: IanJ - 2010-10-14, 09:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (53)

Hi,

Seems to me that the audio micro-glitching is back.
With the previous release it could be eliminated by configuring just one audio decoder.

I'm still configured with the one decoder under v1.5.33 but am now noticing micro-glitching, albeit it only once every 15/30secs or so.

I have tried re-booting, tried configuring a different decoder, different channels etc.

Not sure........more testing required on my part. Maybe my sat feed is having a bad day.

Ian.

NPVR v1.5.33 MVP loading MVPMC & Rolling Buffer
Posted by: steeb - 2010-10-14, 08:44 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (24)

I hope I chose the right thread for this

Running NPVR v1.5.33 and latest mvpmc dongle (I think latest from here:

http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post387766 )

Rolling buffer thing seems to come back into play, from this post I deleted the registry hack

http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post390142

and previously with NPVR v1.5.31 LiveTV kept running, it is now doing the stop at 6 minute or so thing again. Should I re-implement the reg hack or have I missed something?

[Edit] Sorry forget that. Don't know why it happened at about 6 minutes. Currently running 2 x MVP's with LiveTV after rebooting them and the 1st one is well into over 10 minutes of LiveTV play [EndEdit]

[2nd Edit] No LiveTV definitely hangs at some point but does not appear to be at a regular time interval at 6 minutes odd like it was previously [EndEdit]

Cheers

Steeb

Audio and video drifting out of sync
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2010-10-14, 06:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

When watching a channel that has H.264 video and HE-AAC sound, it gets out of sync after a while, the audio is ahead of the picture it seems. A glance at the end of NextPVR.log shows that reference clock is set to MPEG1 Audio Renderer, is this correct?

  My feature requests
Posted by: IanJ - 2010-10-14, 05:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Hi all,

My feature requests:-

1. If a program is currently being recorded then when bringing up the current program info can there be some sort of indication that the program is being recorded. Suggest a flashing "REC" just above the CH. indication. Maybe I'm too used to my old SKYHD box where there was an LED on the front panel that indicated a recording in progress!

2. If a program is being recorded then allow WATCH. I quite often channel hop back and forth off/on a program that is currently being recorded. I know the workaround but...........

3. Using the Hauppauge remote I make use of the TV, VIDEOS, MUSIC & PICTURES buttons, but they only work from the main menu which isn't much of a saver. Can these not be made to work wherever the user is. I.e. I'd like to be able to get to PICTURES even if I am currently watching Live Tv.

UPDATES:-

4. If you are on any screen watching a video, live tv, browsing photos etc etc.....then if a recording starts then a wee OSD pop-up will appear. Yeah, I know this is maybe not so easy......but wouldn't it be such a great touch.

Ian.

  1.5.33 beta available (15th October)
Posted by: sub - 2010-10-14, 05:02 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (55)

I've updated http://www.gbpvr.com/NPVRSetup.exe to v 1.5.33

If you're upgrading from an earlier build of 1.5.x, you need to make sure you stop the NPVR software before installing. In future releases I'll make this automatic, but thats not the case yet.

Mostly just small changes and bug fixes in this release. Quite a few of these had previously been posted as patches.

Quote:
- fixed a issue with streaming live tv to client PCs.
- fixed a problem with tuner usage on HDHR
- fixed a problem with rewind key on MVP/PCH
- fixed a problem with weekly recordings.
- a couple of small MCE remote changes
- fixed an issue with screensaver on MVP/PCH
- added rolling file support to MVP server, allowing mvpmc to do live tv.
- fixed a bug with dynamic adjustment of number of MVP/PCH servers.
- fixed a problem DVB-S2 support
- added a few more notification events for plugin developers
- fixed a couple of problems with the 'manual recording' functionality added in the last release.
- fixed an issue with stopping the recording service when MVP servers are enabled.
- fixed a bug where machine could go into standby when listening to music on NMT.
- fixed issue with using the 'all channels' option on the manual recording popup.
- fixed a problem where a bad DLL could stop the rest of the plugins from loading.
- fixed a issue where recordings scheduled from tv guide might not update there state to show 'play' etc when recording starts. (ie, schedule a recording in tv guide, wait until recording has started, double click on show and 'play' option isnt listed)
- added ability to queue tracks in the music library, rather than just replacing the tracks that are currently playing.
- slight changes to switching in/out of fullscreen mode with the maximize button, or titlebar double click.
- fixed issue with web server which could lead to the recording service hanging when you attempted to stop the service.
- fixed an issue with MVP servers after resuming from standby
- fixed an issue with loading default art work in the recordings screen
- added the ability to delete folders in the Video library.
- fixed a problem with playing .m2ts files on NMT devices
- added ISO6937 text support for EPG (mainly eastern european countries)
- fixed an issue with navigation in the icon view in Video/Music/Picture library
- added support for Daemon Tools for playing .ISO DVDs.
- added support for jumping directly to a dvd chapter during playback by typing the chapter number then pressing enter
- added support for custom tasks
- added highlighting in TV Guide timeline for periods that have recordings
- added key (ctrl-w) for going back to the previous channel in live tv.
- reloads recording list each time you enter the Recordings screen so that the list doesnt become stale
- fixed problem with What's New list always showing 7 days, regardless of what number was configured
- fixed a problem weekly manual recordings.
- fixed a problem with live tv on the PCH
- fixed an issue that could cause stuttery audio
- now doing an asynchronous device stop, to hopefully work around an issue some users encountered when stopping devices.
- fixed a crash that could happen browsing folder.jpg images in the video/music library.

  channel changing using arrows
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-10-14, 05:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

When I use the arrows to change channels, for some reason, after hitting enter and watching that selected channel, I hit the up or down arrow to change the channel again, and it always seems to be on some channel far far away from the channel I was watching. Is there a reason for this?
