  MC2XML problems
Posted by: pcostanza - 2010-08-10, 12:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Anyone else having problems with updating the EPG via MC2XML using Microsoft Legacy? I keep getting 'no new data available' even though it's been 4 days since the last update. This on 2 machines. I'm not sure if it's an MC2XML problem or a microsoft.com problem. If I delete the .dat file, it, of course, creates and new one and give me an updated guide. So, why won't it update something 4 days old?

  No Tuners Available
Posted by: LewE - 2010-08-10, 12:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

My PC's motherboard died and I had to reinstall all my applications.

I did a clean install fo PVRX2 version 1.47. I have a Hauppauge 2250 card and two Hauppauge 1600 cards. I've been taking it one step at a time. So far I have only configured one tuner on the 2250 card for Clear QAM and mapped it to the appropriate channels. I was able to successfully watch the channels using WinTV.

From GBPVR's config, I can view and listen to the channel when I map them to the station channels.

I then went into TV Guide and tried to WATCH one of the mapped channels and I get an error saying that "No tuner is available".

I do notice that there are entries in the Task Manager's Processes list that I don't remember seeing before. Are these responsible for me not being able to use the capture card?

I see that UiList.ViewMode.HORIZONTAL_ICON exists. Does anyone have an example skin showing how to use it?
Thanks

Second Instance of LiveTV or Recording Still Fails in Version 1.5.28
Posted by: tjb - 2010-08-09, 03:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

Sub,

I was really hoping that the new beta 1.5.28 would rectify the problems I am having with the 2nd instance of LiveTV or recordings. Reference my last post at http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...s-Programs

But the same problems appear in the new version on my system. I believe the problems are related, and since it is easier to test and recover from failures in LiveTV this is where I am focusing my efforts. Just to review, I am using an HDHR configured as ATSC/OTA and I have completely reinstalled my Windows 7 Ultimate system from scratch.

The first time I run LiveTV everything runs perfectly. If I escape out and then go back into LiveTV, I always get the message "Failed to communicate with recording service" even though the recording service is still running. If I try a third time, I get the message "Failed to start stream". If I restart the recording service, then LiveTV works again (but only once). I have attached my log files and was hoping you would have a minute to look at them.

The first instance of LiveTV in the logs looks like this:

Code:
2010-08-09 11:18:13.275 [DEBUG][5] StartStream(7173:WLWT-HD) 2010-08-09 11:18:13.291 [INFO] [5] DigitalRecorder.StartStream(LIVE&C:\Temp\live-WLWT-HD-3761.ts) 2010-08-09 11:18:13.291 [INFO] [5] Creating BDA graph 2010-08-09 11:18:13.378 [DEBUG][5] Using tuner Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 10117487-0 (1) 2010-08-09 11:18:13.430 [DEBUG][5] About to auto detect capture filter 2010-08-09 11:18:13.716 [DEBUG][5] No BDA capture filter for this device 2010-08-09 11:18:13.814 [DEBUG][5] Graph filter list: 2010-08-09 11:18:13.814 [DEBUG][5] - BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter 2010-08-09 11:18:13.815 [DEBUG][5] - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer 2010-08-09 11:18:13.815 [DEBUG][5] - NPVR TS Mon 2010-08-09 11:18:13.815 [DEBUG][5] - Tuner 2010-08-09 11:18:13.815 [DEBUG][5] - Network Provider 2010-08-09 11:18:13.818 [INFO] [5] About to start BDA graph 2010-08-09 11:18:13.820 [DEBUG][5] Starting graph... 2010-08-09 11:18:13.823 [DEBUG][5] About to tune BDA graph: <tuning> <type>ATSC</type> <locator> <physical_channel>35</physical_channel> </locator> <service_id>1</service_id> <tsid>2243</tsid> <service_type>1</service_type> </tuning> 2010-08-09 11:18:15.156 [DEBUG][5] locked=1, present=1, strength=95, quality=97 (took 1186ms to check) 2010-08-09 11:18:15.185 [INFO] [5] DigitalRecorder.StartStream() allocated handle: 0x1 2010-08-09 11:18:15.188 [DEBUG][5] Live TV handle: 0x140001 2010-08-09 11:18:15.238 [DEBUG][3] GetQuality() 2010-08-09 11:18:15.238 [DEBUG][3] GetQuality()@exit 2010-08-09 11:18:15.256 [DEBUG][3] GetQuality() ... 2010-08-09 11:18:21.540 [INFO] [3] DigitalRecorder.StopStream() handle: 1 2010-08-09 11:18:21.562 [INFO] [3] No more streams active. The second one (which is a different channel) is much shorter and appears to me not to try to tune the channel (there is no <tuning> section in the log for this entry):
Code:

Which batch files are executed in NPVR?
Posted by: mila06 - 2010-08-09, 11:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Hi

Which batch files are executed in NPVR and which parameteres are send to the batch-files.

In PVRx2 i use the Recordigstatus batchfile to control the recording-LED in my htpc-case, and i would like to do something like that with NPVR.

North American closed captions in 1.5.28
Posted by: petercooperjr - 2010-08-09, 12:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

It seems that this new release tried to move to "Line 21 Decoder 2" per my request, but I can't get it to display closed captions at all. The right-click menu option is there, but selecting it or pressing Ctrl+x doesn't seem to do anything. From looking at the filter graph, it looks like the output of "Line 21 Decoder 2" isn't connected to anything, which I'm guessing is related to the problem. Also, the "NPVR CC Dump" isn't connected to anything whatsoever, and there seem to be a lot of unneeded ffdshow audio decoders in there. (The actual audio content is in AC3 format and being handled by AC3Filter, so the ffdshow instances are there to handle the audio formats not in the file or something?) I don't think they hurt anything, but it looks like quite a mess. I wish I'd thought to take a look at the graph more before I upgraded so that I could compare, but I didn't, so I'd need to try to downgrade in order to see how it worked before.

Filter graph screenshot from GraphStudio attached. Thank you so much.

1.5.28 Skip settings for new recordings
Posted by: skinny - 2010-08-09, 12:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (45)

I've been hanging out for the next release of NPVR, I thought this was going to help things...

Quote:- added a workaround to give more accurate skipping when playing .ts recordings (for comskip users etc). New recordings on NTFS drives are those that will benefit from these improvements.

I'm having trouble with the skip functions in new recordings made with V1.5.28 they do not adhere to the settings of SkipSecondsForward and SkipSecondsBack in Config.xml
I was playing around this morning and to get it close to what I want, I had to use something like this

- to skip forward approx 60 seconds I needed to set the SkipSecondsForward to 40
- to skip approx back 20 seconds I needed to set the SkipSecondsBack to 40

Old recordings and avi files adhere to the settings in the config file

Is it just me, or is this a bug?
Cheers

  Cannot see PVRX2 main menu
Posted by: smvr99 - 2010-08-08, 11:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have just installed GB-PVR version 1.4.7 on Win XP SP3 but when I run PVRX2 from the Windows start menu, I do not see the main menu. I have verified that I have the prerequisites (Directx 9.0, C++ redist, etc) installed. Attached are the logs & a screenshot.

Thanks

  Client machine with local tuner
Posted by: ACTCMS - 2010-08-08, 10:26 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I installed 1.5.28 on one of my GBPVR servers and set the dev laptop to client mode. Recordings, Videos, etc worked fine, but I had a problem with Live TV due to no available tuner.

The GBPVR server has 2x Nova-T 500 and I setup only the 4th device in NPVR. The laptop has a single USB tuner which was not connected at the time. I had a look at the device list on the server and it showed the 4 Nova-T devices plus the USB device. The status screen only shows the 5 Nova-T devices.

On the server I disabled the first 3 server devices and the USB device - see screenshot - and live TV now works fine. I think I can figure out why Live TV failed before I disabled the ones I didn't want to use, but does the fact that the server sees the laptop local tuner imply that NPVR will support some sort of tuner farm?

Apologies if this behaviour is common knowledge, but I just got back from two weeks in the hills and I've really only skimmed through the last two weeks posts...

Client smooth using videos but really choppy from Recordings and Live TV
Posted by: soccerdad - 2010-08-08, 08:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (12)

I can use Videos to watch a recording on the client, but the same recording is unwatchable using Recordings. It has HUGE stutters. Live TV is also working, but unwatchable. This is for both analog and QAM tuners.
