  Can't Switch Between Guides
Posted by: LewE - 2010-08-10, 06:30 PM - Forum: TV Listings - Replies (1)

I am using TV Listings Version 2.11 with the wide screen Community Skin and have two television listings guides defined. This is running under Windows 7 64 bit.

When I bring up TV Listings I can't switch between the guides.

I had to reload Windows and reinstall all applications. Before the reload I was able to switch between guides by clicking on the guide name with the mouse.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

"The tuner being used for LiveTV is no longer available"
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-08-10, 05:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (49)

LiveTV won't work any more after changing channels, then exiting livetv and attempting to restart it. LiveTV will then start, but then quits after about 5 seconds with the message "The tuner being used for Live TV is no longer available". Only a recording service restart will restore livetv.

In the attached log I first watch live tv on 3 separate channels, exiting and selecting a new channel from the TV guide each time.

Then I start live tv again, but this time I change channels 3 times. Everything is OK to this point.

Finally, I exit live tv, and try to watch 2 different programs from the TV guide. Both times Live TV starts, but then fails after about 5 seconds; the log says it failed to renew the lease.

Unable to disable analogue tuner and can't stop EPG update.
Posted by: martint123 - 2010-08-10, 05:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Got npvr up on the main PVR machine, but slight problems before changing over main use.

Fixed channel STB, RedEye serial port USB blaster working fine so far.

While configuring Analogue, fixed channel, STB use and direct DVB-S use, I would like to disable the digital and analogue tuners in turn. It works fine with the digital tuner, but removing the tick from my analogue tuner has no effect. Digital, disables it and shows as disabled, analogue keeps going and shows as enabled.

Still asking for and waking for EPG at 0300 when 'none' selected.

cheers.

Removing of paranthesis on file names
Posted by: 7ore - 2010-08-10, 05:32 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Is there a way to hide all the "[ ]" around folder and file names?

A tweak in the skin or in config.xml maybe?

nPVR selectable timeline and other features
Posted by: soccerdad - 2010-08-10, 04:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I miss being able to select the timeline to jump to a position.

I also miss on the guide that the top no longer shows red indicating you have a recording scheduled at that time slot.

Minor, but they were useful.

  EPG No Longer Works
Posted by: Paul D. Bellamy - 2010-08-10, 02:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I have WinXP, SP3, GBPVR v 1.3.11, and EPG MC2XML. I have been using these components for several years (it seems like), and all has been well. Recently, after returning from a 2 week vacation (during which the computer was off) I attempted to record a program, and noticed that the TV Guide says "no show details". I have piddled around with various things, but can't get it going.

Is the MC2XML source working? Does anyone have suggestions about how to get the TV Guide filled in with information?

Thanks for any help.

UltraXMLTV - Errors with _SeriesIDs.txt file
Posted by: TomR - 2010-08-10, 01:34 PM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (4)

Today when I ran UltraXMLTV I'm getting error.

I'm getting a message that indicates a process is using the _SeriesIDs.txt file. When I click OK and then click GO to manually run the process I get an error indicating that the argument 'Length' must be greater or equal to zero.

When I open the _SeriesIDs.txt file it contains incorrect data. It is a XML file that when I load into an editor it tells me the domain registration expired Aug. 9, 2010.

I have deleted _SeriesIDs.txt file and re-downloaded the file and I have also deleted my installation of UltraXMLTV and reinstalled. But this has not corrected the problem.

Any suggestions on how to correct the problem? Or is it really a problem with the domain registration expiring?

  no live TV picture
Posted by: mpooley - 2010-08-10, 08:57 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all
I have just tried to use pvrx2 again after a gap of several months.
I had 'some' minor niggles before and felt I needed to come back to then when I had more time. The system had been working ok just a bit slow.

Now I tried to use it yesterday and downloaded the epg ok no problems. I can watch old recorded programs ok and it all seems to be working ok.
Except for Live TV ! when i select this the screen goes blank for ages and then I sometimes get sound ! but so far no matter how long i leave it .... no picture.

I have not altered anything since last use and even the little acorn PC that is my media centre has been off all that time as well so no changes there either.

Can Anyone suggest where I start to solve this please?

Thanks

Mike

NRECORD cancelled a recording-in-progress because I deleted a previous recording
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-08-10, 06:42 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Ok, this one is bizarre:

at 9:00pm NRECORD started recording "Last Comic Standing", recording id 3953:

Code:
2010-08-09 21:00:00.363 [DEBUG][6] About to start recording (3953): F:\Recordings\Last Comic Standing\Last Comic Standing_20100809_21002300.ts ... all the recording starting messages ... 2010-08-09 21:00:05.657 [INFO][6] DigitalRecorder.StartStream() allocated handle: 0x1 2010-08-09 21:00:05.658 [DEBUG][6] Temp at 8/9/2010 9:00:15 PM 2010-08-09 21:00:05.658 [DEBUG][6] Started recording (3953:F:\Recordings\Last Comic Standing\Last Comic Standing_20100809_21002300.ts)
then at about 9:08pm I decide to clean house on the completed "America's Got Talent" recordings that have all been watched, which as always also caused it to reload the recording schedule:
Code:
2010-08-09 21:08:32.760 [DEBUG][3] DeleteRecording(3389) 2010-08-09 21:08:32.760 [DEBUG][3] Cancelling wake up request for for 'RecordingOID3389' 2010-08-09 21:08:32.833 [DEBUG][3] -removing: F:\Recordings\Americas Got Talent\Americas Got Talent_20100803_21002300.ts 2010-08-09 21:08:33.320 [DEBUG][3] PlaybackPositionHelper.DeletePlaybackPosition(F:\Recordings\Americas Got Talent\Americas Got Talent_20100803_21002300.ts) 2010-08-09 21:08:33.562 [DEBUG][6] Reloading recording schedule 2010-08-09 21:08:33.577 [DEBUG][6] Requesting wake up for 'RecordingOID3953' at 8/9/2010 8:58 PM .... all the rest of the recording schedule is listed, all is ok ....
oh, but what's this at the end of the reload?:
Code:
2010-08-09 21:08:33.580 [ERROR][6] Unexpected orphaned recording found (3839). Stopping it... 2010-08-09 21:08:33.580 [INFO][6] DigitalRecorder.StopStream() handle: 1 2010-08-09 21:08:33.581 [INFO][6] No more streams active. I have no idea what this 'orphan' recording 3839 was, I can't find it in any of the NRECORD logs (the logs fill up too much with GetQuality() messages), but when it thought it was stopping that it actually tore down the graph for "Last Comic Standing". The 2 hour recording is only 8 minutes and 30 seconds long (and it was timestamped at 9:08pm).

I deleted a couple more recordings, and each time the same orphan recording 3839 shows up at the end of the reload.

When 11:00pm rolled around, it still thought it was recording 3953, and it thinks it ends that without incident (along with a Seinfeld (3903) that started at 10:30pm):
Code:
2010-08-09 23:00:00.153 [DEBUG][6] Stopping recording (3953). Past end time of recording. 2010-08-09 23:00:00.153 [INFO][6] DigitalRecorder.StopStream() handle: 1 2010-08-09 23:00:00.254 [DEBUG][6] Starting: C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\PostProcessing.bat "F:\Recordings\Last Comic Standing\Last Comic Standing_20100809_21002300.ts" 4 2010-08-09 23:00:00.325 [DEBUG][6] Stopping recording (3903). I *think* restarting the recording service will get rid of this ghost-of-recordings-past 3839, but this sort of housekeeping shouldn't tear down the graph of a current recording.

  SearchLite Plugin for N-PVR
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-08-10, 05:27 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (73)

I am pleased to release SearchLite, a small search plugin for N-PVR. It uses the NEWA search engine to search your EPG and also queries TVDb.com and TMDB.org to get television and movie program information and artwork.

For more information check out the wiki

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...SearchLite

This is a public beta and I am looking for more feedback on way to improve. Feel free to update the wiki. It currently is supported by the Default, BRVE+, and Wave skins.

Thanks to the many people that have provided alpha testing and useful suggestions, and also to UJB for his wonderful NEWA Web Service that made this possible.

Note that I believe there is a scheduling bug in the current version of N-PVR that causes canceled records from SearchLite, NEWA or the EPG to crash the Recording service.

Martin
