NPVR does not honor tuner priority
Posted by: paf077 - 2010-07-12, 10:58 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I tried recording the grand-prix off of the HD-PVR which is first on the list in capture devices, but NPVR used the HRV1600 on ATSC channel 6 CBC which does not carry the F1 schedule,. The channel changed on the stb but the recording was from the Antenna on the HRV1600. Both capture devices have their own epg.

On a second note, I did not find the Map digital channel to epg from SD. It works fine on GB-PVR.

Setting analogue tuner channel is OK with WinTV 7 but not NPVR
Posted by: rwnz - 2010-07-12, 09:52 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

I'm being a bit lazy here but I've been unable to sort this issue out before heading into the office today and I'm hoping that someone might give me an answer so that I can fix it immediately I get home tonight!

I'm unable to get a program signal on the desired channel on my analogue tuner. I have a WinTV-HVR-2200 and NPVR 1.5.25. The DVB channels have set up and work fine but I have a cable STB with an analogue output fixed to 815.25MHZ = cable chan 332 = TV chan 64 which I wish to set the analogue part of tuner to. However when I go to Settings-Devices-Analog-Device Setup and program in the cable cable channel 332 I get a blue screen and some audio noise.

I've confirmed that it is the correct channel & the that tuner card works OK by programming it into WinTV 7 and viewing it there. I've also confirmed that NPVR is set to channel 332 by opening up Device Setup afterwards and checking. I've tried each of the mpeg2 video decoders (a couple result in a black screen and lockup). We have analogue signals broadcast on lower channels which I don't normally use NPVR for but I've found that TV channel 1 plays OK on NPVR, but haven't had time yet to check other channels.

So, why does it work for channel 1 but not channel 332 when WinTV7 is OK?

I'm running 1.5.19 on 64 bit Vista

Dual Tuners problem recording 2 programs at the same time V1.5.24 Win 7.
Posted by: hansol123 - 2010-07-12, 06:25 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

I have two tuners installed in my system both Hauppauge DVB-T and DVB-S.

Both tuners work perfectly when the recordings are at different times of the day.

The problem I discovered this evening was when trying to set the system to record BBCHD at 9PM using the DVB-S tuner and ITV to record at 9PM using the DVB-T tuner. After I set the BBCHD recording the system informs me that no tuner is available to record ITV1 although the channel is mapped to the DVB-T tuner.

This arrangement works on GBPVR.
Am I missing something ???

NEWA: Recordings/Live Buffer Directories Point To Wrong Drive
Posted by: aritafari - 2010-07-12, 06:03 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (7)

In NEWA, both Recordings & Live Buffer directories are pointing to my F: drive even though I mapped both as follows: E:\PVR & E:\PVR Buffer respectively.

Note the following:
A. Recordings & Buffer are actually recorded where mapped i.e. E: drive. So it works as specified
B. NPVR is installed in the F: drive

It is more cosmetic. I can live with it, I just thought I should point it out.
Thanks for the great work.

recording in progress during epg update causes problems
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-07-12, 04:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (15)

I've discovered one of the ways recordings can get marked "Failed - Recording service not running at recording time".

I have a recording of a kids' show at 3:00am, the same time as the EPG update (only XMLTV, no dvb epg). I've discovered for 2 nights in a row that the recording in progress during the update gets duplicated, and then it and all subsequent recordings get marked "Failed - Recording service not running at recording time".

It appears also that after the EPG update, the recording service gets into a bit of a confused state. It no longer updates it's recording wakeup schedule, until some event occurs to wake it up. On 7-11, I restarted the recording service which caused it to reload the schedule. On 7-12 at 8:00am I simply deleted an old recording, which caused it to wake up.

The attached NRecord7-11.log.zip has the logs pertaining to the 7-11 occurance. The order of the log files is a little funny because I had to recover some from windows' "Previous Versions" facility. Then the attached NRecord7-12.log.zip shows this morning's occurrance.

Of interest is this line from the NRecord.log.2 file in the 7-12 zip:

Code:
2010-07-11 13:17:12.750 [DEBUG][6] Requesting wake up for 'RecordingOID1272' at 7/12/2010 2:58 AM
So recording 1272 is set for 3:00am on 7-12.
Then this morning, in the NRecord.log:
Code:
2010-07-12 03:30:00.195 [DEBUG][6] Stopping recording (1272). Past end time of recording.
Good, recording 1272 stopped on time, all is well... but then after I deleted an old recording to "kick" the recording service:
Code:
2010-07-12 08:00:43.695 [DEBUG][6] Requesting wake up for 'RecordingOID1354' at 7/12/2010 2:58 AM ..... 2010-07-12 08:00:43.708 [DEBUG][6] Marking recording (1354) as 'Recording service not running at recording time'
Recording 1354? Where did that come from? It's a duplicate of recording 1272 that didn't exist before the EPG update. Yes, the 3:00am Zula Patrol recording shows up twice in "What's New": one successful, one failed.

Things went the same way on 7-11, except two other recordings occurred but were marked "failed" before I restarted the recording service.

Enjoy!

  Avoid Duplicate recordings?
Posted by: leaded1 - 2010-07-12, 03:23 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

sub,
I see that NPVR doesn't have a tag for <AvoidDuplicateRecordingsIfPossible> in config.xml and that it schedules all showings of the same episode to record for season recordings. Will this functionality make it into a future build, or is it there now and I just need to add the tag to config.xml?

Thanks,
leaded

  DVB-Radio on NPVR

When can we expect dvb-radio to be ported to NPVR? I'd really welcome that Smile

  Setting Analogue Tuner Channel
Posted by: rwnz - 2010-07-12, 11:09 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I'm unable to set the desired channel on my analogue tuner. I have a WinTV-HVR-2200 and NPVR 1.5.25. The DVB channels have set up fine but I have a cable STB with an analogue output fixed to 815.25MHZ = cable chan 332 = TV chan 64 which I wish to set the analogue part of tuner to. However when I go to Settings-Devices-Analog-Device Setup and add a channel e.g.:

  • Number: a program number not used by any other program in NPVR e.g.100
  • Name: I'm calling it "Cable"
  • Input Source: Fixed Channel
  • Country: New Zealand
  • Tuning: Cable
  • Fixed CH: 332
and hit OK it assigns Channel 72, not 332.

I also tried a similar thing with Input Source = Tuner and a seemingly random channel is assigned.

I had expected that I could edit the programming by double clicking on the channel but the only thing that can be changed is the Number.

I've attached some screen shots in the order that I've just described.
