  Possible bug using "Open file"
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-07-11, 06:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

This is what I did:
1) NPVR > Right-click > Open file and selected a .TS file. Picture appeared.
2) GraphStudio > File > Connect to a remote graph. Got a single choice.
3) NPVR > Right-click > Open file and selected a .TS file. No picture, but got sound.
4) GraphStudio > File > Connect to a remote graph. Got two choices.
3) NPVR > Right-click > Open file and selected a .TS file. No picture, but got sound.
4) GraphStudio > File > Connect to a remote graph. Got three choices.
...etc.

Interestingly, when no picture showed, GraphStudio showed that no Video Renderer was connected (nor did it even appear in the graph).
Was using the DivX h.264 codec.

  NPVR Popup sample
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-07-11, 04:25 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (3)

Sub, when you have a chance, could you provide a sample of how to do popup's in NPVR fashion. I can get the popup itself but adding the left buttons to it are a mystery.

Thanks,

Martin

  IR/remote replacement?
Posted by: kjc - 2010-07-11, 01:32 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I have a Hauppauge 1800 card, which came with a remote and ir blaster wire/receiver. Somehow I've managed to lose both the wire and the receiver, though, and I can't figure out what to replace it with. Everything I can find either looks shady or says it's only for Vista or Windows 7, and I have XP. I'm not against replacing the remote too, I guess, but I like it fine. I just want something that works!!

I have found the exact remote kit that I have (http://store.hauppauge.com/hardware2.asp...mce_remote), on the Hauppauge site, but it specifically says it's for Vista. Does that even apply to me since I'll be using it with GBPVR and not Media Center? Can anyone recommend something that should work, or give me some pointers about what WON'T work?

Thank you!

New EVR "Remove LetterBox" Zooming feature
Posted by: ForestKlown - 2010-07-11, 01:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I finally got around to trying it out and it works great for zooming 4:3 content, but it kind of zooms to far on the super wide screen content.

Is there any way to mix the "Fill" setting with the new "Remove LetterBox" zoom setting in that it Zooms just enough to fill the screen(no more no less)?

Media Player Classic calls this "Touch Window From Outside".

Thanks for your time!

  EPG language + DVB subtitles
Posted by: mikaelgu - 2010-07-10, 09:51 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Hi,

First and foremost: Thank you for the amazing app that just keeps getting better and better!
I spent the better part of today configuring nPVR and it's working like a charm now (at least almost).
Here's what I can do, that Pvrx2 didn't handle:
1) I can now use both tuners (doing this in Pvrx2 resulted in a BSOD 100% of the time)
2) I can record encrypted channels and only one, I can do several!!!
3) I've got a gorgeus new skin (Wave - Thank you Hairy!)

Roses have thorns though...
In earlier versions there was a setting you could put into config.xml to choose epg language. As Finland is a bilingual country, my epg is currenty kinda mix and match of finnish and swedish. Config.xml has changed quite a bit and I was wondering how to configure that now? Or, if the setting is missing, please please add it back.

Second problem is with DVB subtitles, which I can't seem to get displayed. It's not a big deal, but just wondering where nPVR is with this.

Again, thanks for a great piece of software!

  Live TV display mode?
Posted by: 86atc250r - 2010-07-10, 09:47 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

How do I make my display normal instead of like pictured?

Using latest beta of npvr, XP Pro, VMR9, nVidia decoders & Hauppauge PVR500 if that matters.

  GB-PVR stopped working
Posted by: Alista - 2010-07-10, 03:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I installed GB-PVR and everything worked fine but now it seems to have stopped working. Specifically when i click on watch (any programme) in the tv guide it briefly shows a blank screen then returns to tv guide. All the channels seem to have been found during the scan although when i click the Map digital channels to epg channels i get a message saying "unable to start the BDA device you have configured". So confused, hope you can help as i really like this software when i had it working.

  Where Does xmltv.xml Go?
Posted by: djpup - 2010-07-10, 05:33 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I am running Windows 7 x64 in Los Angeles. The over-the-air EPG seem mostly empty, so I'd like to use Schedules Direct. I've obtained mc2xml and successfully downloaded the EPG data, which seems to be in file xmltv.xml (there's also a mc2xml.dat). If I want to use the data in xmltv.xml with NPVR, where does the file go (or are there other things I need to do)?

  CPU usage
Posted by: Nistrod - 2010-07-10, 04:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (14)

Nextpvr.exe is using 20% of the CPU, just displaying the screen saver. Is this normal?

If I wake it up, this drops to about 18%

Cheers

Memory leak? Out of memory exception error
Posted by: BigMoose - 2010-07-09, 10:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (33)

I decided to give nPVR a go for the evening viewing with the wife instead of GBPVR, with the Wave skin - which is really nice! So it's the first time I've had it running for over 2 hours, but it threw an "out of memory" exception - although the channel was still showing in the background. I had a look in the task manager and the npvr.exe process was running at 570Mb which I thought was rather high. I copied the exception log text but not sure it's any use...
