playback of recordings crash the application
Posted by: paf077 - 2010-06-26, 12:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

It crashes on playback of recordings all the time after stb replacement. was perfect before. the stb was replaced because it kept blanking out randomly. it was a pace 501 ~5 years old. the new one is a SA4250
both are HD. the recordings are fine! it crashes on every recordings after 3 to5 minutes and I have to use the mouse to close pvrx2 and then restart it. It was rock solid since the install when it came out. 1.4.7 with hauppauge HDPVR.

Any suggestions?

Paf

  Use background recording service?

Should I be enabling "Use Background Recording Service" in settings? What will be different?

  what's new sort order reversed?
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-06-26, 01:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

It looks like the sort order for What's New has reversed since 1.5.19? It's now showing oldest first. I know you'll be adding sort options later on, but it seems it ought to show newest first until then? Or is there a button to change the sort I just don't know about?

Also, a minor grammatical thing, N-PVR is displaying "Whats New" without an apostrophe, it should be "What's New".

  Video Library showing hidden directories
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-06-26, 01:04 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I set the video library path to the root of the drive that has all my videos, dvd rips, etc. N-PVR is showing all the hidden system folders like Recycler, System Volume Information, etc. Methinks it should not show these folders; GB-PVR didn't.

Please Allow Data DIrectory to be opn Another Drive
Posted by: LewE - 2010-06-26, 12:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I just upgraded from version 1.5.19 to 1.5. 21. I was hoping to be able to specify that the DATA directory would be able to be installed on a drive other than c:.

I have found that the data files get fragmented during the course of a day when they are on the c: drive. I want to put them on a different drive that doesn't have the frantic activity that exists, and consequently causes files on the c: drive to become quite fragmented just because of all the small holes left in the c: drive from normal Windows activity.

Please consider allowing us to install the DATA directories where we want during installation in a future release of NPVR.

Dear all,

Could have trawled through forums but I'm getting old and it has been a long week :p

[EDIT]

Should have said this is with GB-PVR 1.4.7

[end EDIT]

NPVR likes my tuners better than GBPVR did
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2010-06-25, 11:02 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

As well as GBPVR worked, it didn't always play nice with my tuners. During a scan, sometimes it would find all the channels, sometimes it would just find some of them, other times it would find none.

Occasionally too, even if it had scanned successfully and been working fine, one tuner would just stop working.

I'm not sure what's different about NPVR internally, but none of these problems seem to happen any more. So far, NPVR is outperforming GBPVR in regards to tuner stability. I have a pair of Twinhan AD-SP200 DVB-S tuners and a couple of THESE tuners, (although currently I have only one in use).

This all adds up to a much more stable environment for me - so good work Sub!

Bill.

  N-PVR Wiki?
Posted by: steeb - 2010-06-25, 10:46 PM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (18)

Dear all,

always know that documentation gets to the bottom of list but would just like to clarify?

Have I missed a thread somewhere or is there a bigger plan?

If a bigger plan I am not part of then that is great and please read no further, just reply: 'BIGGER PLAN' Big Grin

Is new documentation for N-PVR going to:

1) co-exist with current wiki somehow
2) new existence in some way
3) not exist at all
4) none of the above

this is not a poll, just was interested???

very many spiritual fortunes our way

Steeb

  Mc2xml
Posted by: soccerdad - 2010-06-25, 09:53 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Anyone having issues with MC2XML? I use the "legacy" support and can't seem to get a good xml file anymore. I tried schedules direct for testing, and it worked. But since nPVR is not SD friendly yet (hopefully in the future??) I have to process it with MC2XML and I get an empty guide. It does not even parse out many listings. My cable system recently remapped, but even with new tuners added, I can't get guide data.
