I have discovered that my cheap 19" guest TV cuts of the image from my NMT (even in the NMT config Menus.)
so I'd like to figure out how to compensate both in x and in y (+ and -). What values can you use in the <MVP> config section?
I just bought an NMT for the guest room which has a 19" TV that measures 16" by 10" (is the 16:10?)
I have major overscan issues, I only see a small portion of the top menu and the left and right is cut off.
Are there recommended settings I should be using for this?
the manual says the TV will display 1280X720 native resolution.
I'm using component video.
a couple of the top menu items aren't doing anything for me..
the manual recording button in recordings screen doesn't do anything when i click it..
and the 'convert' item in video library also...
will that be the replacement for transcode button?
oh and also the 'channels' button when right clicking on ui too..
recently I have had to do some reconfiguring and retuning of my channels. As the cable company moved them around. I have the channels showing up on the right number but the epg data is not showing up correctly. For instance I have TNT on channel 41 the content is correct in live TV and in the TV guide it shows TNT 41 (then no show details). But if you go to the end of the TV guid on like channel 130 there is TNT again with the correct show information. How do I get that to move down to the correct spot?
If I try to set a recording on the 130 item it fails or the channels frequency is wrong. doing it down on 41 is not right because the show lenght is all set in hours. Thanks for your replies.
Sub, I am trying out the npvr and have been setting up the device and completed a channel scan successfully. However I get no picture watching Live TV. I can also not play mpg files at all but avi files plays just fine. The logs gives me the message "Unable to find named decoder".

I guess I am missing some vital filter or decoder registration/installation but cannot understand what.
This is a continuation of the problems reported at the end of my DVD playback problem thread but I've started a new one as it has nothing to do with DVD... I cant play back any H264 1080i .ts recordings or live TV since upgrading to 1.5.21. In 1.5.19 live TV worked but .ts playback did not, now nothing does. Some further digging around I've managed to prove that it thinks it's an mpeg2 stream not H264 and is attempting to build a graph with the chosen mpeg2 decoder instead of the H264 one. I've tried changing the mpeg2 decoder to various ones that dont have H264 capability (e.g. the ATI decoder) and sure enough for live TV it attempts to build a graph the mpeg2 decoder and not whatever I have selected for H264 playback - sure enough it doesn't work.
I've tried in Graphedit to build a graph with NPVR ts reader -> mpeg2 demux and sure enough from what I can tell the output video pin claims to be mpeg2 so will only let me connect it to an mpeg2 decoder not an H264 one. It then obviously fails to play...
Can anyone (preferably watching UK HD 1080i content) confirm that they can or cannot play BBC HD either live or recorded .ts in 1.5.21? Also if someone wouldn't mind trying to play this in 1.5.21 and let me know what happens and what graph it builds (in the npvr logs, or connect graphedit to the remote graph as it plays and post a screen shot), I'd be most grateful. I dont see how this could be anything I've done, but you never know!
I ran into a thread on here a little while back that allows you to export the UK DVB EPG fom a BDA capture source to an xml file to populate the EPG for the equivalent UK analogue channels. Now I need it, can't find the thread again. CAn anyone point me to it or post the instructions again.
thanks
I've just upgraded from NPVR 1.5.19 having made sure that the three NRecord.exe/NTray.exe/NextPVR.exe processes were not running. I had already closed the tray icon so only had to stop NRecord.
Anyhow the setup seemed to install ok but when I checked the details I had loads of skipped files. Also my setup window says this is version 1.5.20.
I feel like I've missed something here. I've just installed 1.5.21 over 1.5.19 and lost the start NPVR option when I right-click on the tray icon. I also found that the window does not retain it's size when I change it (an improvement stated in the changelog), and the installer and Settings window still state that it is version 1.5.19.
I then unsinstalled NPVR and deleted the User-Public-NPVR folder then tried a complete fresh install (rebootng the PC each time), but with no improvement. Later I again uninstalled and deleted everything and put back 1.5.19 but I still can't start NPVR from the tray icon (just Show Status and Exit). I'm worried that I've overlooked something so obvious that I shouldn't even be posting this and showing how dumb I am, but I'm sure that I could bring up a start option by right-click the tray icon an hour ago!
