  Hi newbe to gbpvr here
Posted by: numberonekiwi - 2010-03-27, 12:16 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi to all here first post from me

I just came across this application recently and am in the stages of setting it up have had a few problems so I am going to try a full system re install of windows XP Pro sp2 ( corporate edition )

I should really say what I have hardware wise
-Gigabyte x48 motherboard
-Q6600 processor
-Digistar 103g type DVB-s ( drivers may be out of date )
-4 GB ram ( win 32 only uses 3 )
-200 GB hard drive ( yes small but will expand later )
-ATI Radeon 4670 GFX

I originally had it working on FTA channels only as I hadn't configured the MD plugins properly will need some more figuring out on this one later

What happened is I can scan all the channels but as there are some sky box office channels named as "Sky Box Office" about 7 each on different transponders I can only see half of them will need to figure out how to add them manually

Well for now I will try with a clean install and post issues in the relevant sections if and when I need to

Cheers

Shaun

  Win7 Client - no .ts AC3 audio
Posted by: stoenjes - 2010-03-26, 11:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

I've been searching on similar posts and trying everything suggested, including SAF4.0, SAF5.0, and disabling the MS Media Foundation splitter.

Using MPV Decoder and AC3Filter, I can play a video with AC3 audio by using the Video Library option on a local .ts file, but it doesn't work over the network. What do I try next?

  No LiveTV on PCH
Posted by: Heezy - 2010-03-26, 08:17 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (13)

Hi,

I've been searching the forum, but haven't found a solution yet. I'm not that big of an expert on networks, so here I go:

GBPVR is running perfectly on my PCH-A100, except for LiveTV. I'm running Win7 x64 and a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-500. TV comes in through analogue cable. The EPG is up and running and updated.
But when trying to view LiveTV, I just get static.
In Windows Media Center, TV works, altough not fluently...

I have the feeling I'm overlooking a setting in the config.

In attachment the logs.

Thanks in advance!

  Net radio

SUB,
1) Where did you go to find the pre-programed NetRadio channels currently being used?
2) How do I add, change or delete a channel(s)? (i don't see them in the DB)

Thanks

  adjusting recording quality
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2010-03-26, 05:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I recall there was once a low, medium, high quality options for recording, I can't seem to find them; did they get removed at some stage?
I am trying to see if reduce the recording quality will stop my recording from stuttering, I may have a dying hard drive and I figure this is a way to test at lower quality.

No channels found but can see preview
Posted by: idkpmiller - 2010-03-26, 03:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I am reinstalling GBPVR on fresh XP install.
Setting up HVR3000 using DVB-S for NZ Freeview
When the automatic scan start it runs through the Optus D1 FTA (4 transponders) and finds no channels
If I then try a manual search and enter 12456 22500 H 3/4 I get no channels found.
I wait around 3 seconds after last step completing and I then get the video preview window showing TV!!!

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

  Video Card Recommendation
Posted by: kfecher - 2010-03-26, 04:34 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Can anyone advise just how important the PC's video card is to running GBPVR? I can play a DVD regular on the HTPC I built and it looks fantastic on my 46" 1080P television, but the GBPVR is iffy at times. I only have an analog TV card, so I understand that issue, but the image doesn't seem to flow as smoothly as the DVD does. I messed with the decoders etc. and got it to smooth out, but it still doesn't seem to be as good as it could be.

The PC is a Dell P4 HyperThreader running 2.8 GHz, 3 GB of RAM with a Hauppauge HT1600 TV card and an NVidia 6200 128MB video card with DVI out put to the TV via DVI to HDMI cable.

Thanks to all who pipe in here.

  MP4 Video Playback
Posted by: Maelwys - 2010-03-26, 03:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Greetings,

I have some MP4 video files that I just uncovered on an old drive and was hoping I could just drop them into GBPVR and view them, but alas, no luck. Is it possible to play MP4 files from within GBPVR? Is it just a codec issue? Do I need to re-encode them to AVI or somesuch?

Thanks!

  USB dual tuner w/hardware compression-39$US - Fry's
Posted by: pBS - 2010-03-26, 02:16 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

Well i finally saw some ATI USB TVWonder 650's at Fry's and picked one up for 39$...!
and guess what, it's a full blown dual tuner!!!
of course you have to use a specific driver to enable the dual functionality, but hey, usb dual tuner with hardware encoder for 40$? can't beat it with a stick...
it's the diamond "ati tv wonder usb hd 650 dual tuner"
driver cd that came with it says "180-V01126-100" which only works in "either-or" tuner mode..[single]
but i loaded my cd from pcie-650, "180-V01128-100" which enables dual tuner on pcie card[cat 8.11], and it works with this one too!
the drivers on that cd work well in either xp, vista or win7..Smile
6.14.10.250 is good driver version in win7 for "ati unified av stream driver"..

so grab one if you can...they won't last..pcieX1 also still available..same price..
the video quality is top notch and adjustable filters too..
reception is excellent, i've got a 4-inch antenna on it and it's picking up everything!

pair one with a fit2pc[245$] or Revo[199$] and you have a silent tiny multi-tuner setup for less than 350$!
or an excellent addition to any laptop..Smile
out of slots? add 2, for 4 independent tuners using only 2 usb ports! [2 analog + 2 digital, all usable same time]
[i'll be grabbing another tomorrow and test dual use, 2 units, same time]

only bad thing is no remote and they are the white ones...not black....wooo...lol
