I just upgraded the drivers for my ATI graphics card from 10.2 to 10.3, and now whenever I try to start GBPVR it says "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video renderer". I tried the other renderers, but EVR runs at about 1fps, and overlay displays nothing at all (not even a blank screen). I tried reinstalling GBPVR, including completely deleting the install directory, but that changed nothing.
Everything was working fine until I changed the drivers, and that was the only change I made.

Are there any gbpvr plugins or settings to use that would display the
Signal Quality in the OSD for an ATSC USB BDA tuner device while ur in Live TV?
Actually was thinking it'd be cool if we could capture a logfile of it over time, where
ya could then import the log to excel or sumthin and chart it. Just for curiosity sake
of keeping an eye on various stations over long periods of time, say over the course
of a day or so....Is anything like that possible?
I have seen a signal Strength / quality bar graph pops up if ya accidentally unlug the USB
tuner device while in Live TV. But I've never seen it when ur actually plugged in and using it.
Figured it must be there for certain Cards or something.
I have a TV card Hauppauge wintv-pvr150 on my computer.
I am interested in capturing video from my VCR (from a video cassette) to the computer, at highest quality possible. I have windows XP. local system is PAL.
I configured the software GBPVR to the best of my understanding, created a new channel, plugged the VCR to the pvr, and began recording.
A 1.5 hours VHS movie became a ~4 gigabyte MPEG2 file.
I have 2 question please:
1. on the computer, the movie looks great. However, when I burned it to a DVD and tried to view it on my DVD/TV, it was "jumpy" (sorry about the English, not sure which adjective to use... ), The image slightly flickers.
Checked the disc again on my computer, on the DVD drive, and it looks fine. What could be causing this?
2. Is there a way to capture in avi format or some lossless format? instead of mpeg2? perhaps I am missing something in GBPVR configuration?
Up until yesterday, my GB-PVR program was working fine. All of a sudden, everytime I try to open the program I get the following message: "PVRX2 has encountered a problem and needs to close." This happens whether trying to access the main program or the Config program.
I tried uninstalling the program, downloaded the new program and installed it. The same error message keeps coming up.
I have one glitch on my Windows 7 64-bit install. I don't think it is related to GBPVR, but I am posting here in case anyone can help.
On some channels I get audio popping in Live TV - it's hard to describe but the sound seems to be changing volume very fast; you would imagine it as a sawtooth pattern. So most noticeable on long duration sound like background music.
It is very noticeable on channels such as CBS Action, ITV2, Film 4 - and even ITV HD. It cannot be down to a particular Hauppauge tuner, because it effects both DVB-S and DVB-T
If the channel is recorded, the sound is fine when played back. Don't think it's the decoder - I normally use FFDshow but I have tried others and same thing. I dual-boot this PC and in XP I don't get the problem. Tried updating the Realtek HD sound drivers to the latest on the Gigabyte website (Sep 09), updating the Hauppage drivers to 1.3c, and have tried different builds of FFDshow - but problem persists.
I am trying to install an AVerMedia H797W* AverTV Combo card. I seem to be moving forward but am stuck again.
1st GBPVR didn�t have the card in the list of known cards. I added the card using Graphedit and updated the bda.ini file.
That helped but I could only get net radio stations.
I was still not able to map any tv stations and I would get the �unable to start the BDA device� until I did the next step.
2nd After reading some post I changed the bda.ini file to;

This seemed to help because I was able to at least scan in the Digital Channel Mapping but after the scan I
get the �No channels found. Please check your signal and configuration settings�.
3rd I then found the post on XMLTV Plug in that is needed for USA. I set up that file and was then able to see the TV Guide (btw nice
looking interface) but was not able to view Live TV. Now, sometimes I can see the TV Guide and then its gone.
What am I doing wrong?
How do I get the card to be seen?
How do I keep the channels enabled in EPG?

I thought I'd give you an update on mvpmcx3, the next emulation mode client for the Syabas A200 and C200 machines. This 4 min. video, (my first in 2Mb HD) on YouTube.
In the current state as you can see, you get primarily get the GBPVR UI and if you play a video it will launch the PCH player after a delay and then you have an option to return to GBPVR. You can't do LiveTV but you can watch Recordings in Progress. I've tested ATSC, QAM, HD-PVR and analog records without issue so far. The first recording in the demo was an HD-PVR recording in HD from my cable STB. Audio and Net Radio playback using this interface is not really practical.
There is a bit of a lag playing through the HDPVR but the system is at least as responsive as the current PCH clients.
Just a quick note to explain the frustrating day I've had, and what I did to finally resolve the problem (at least, I think it's resolved).
I've just installed Windows 7 Professional (clean install) & upgraded to 1.4.7 on re-installing GB PVR.
All looked good until I tried to record something. The recording service was running, the id I was using was set up as an Administrator, I found the programmes to record & selected a quick record. The programmes were marked to record in the listings screen, and also appeared in the Pending list under Recordings. All looked good.
The following day (the day after they were supposed to record), they still appeared in the Pending list.
I scratched my head, and thought that the PC must have gone to sleep instead of recording (I quite like the W7 Sleep/Hibernate hybrid).
I then tried to delete them from the Pendings list. They wouldn't go.
I checked the security settings for the GBPVR directory & the gbpvr.db3 file & gave everyone every access, adding Local Service, just to be sure.
Still no effect.
I deleted the pending records from the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table, just in case these were messing things up (I know, but I was getting desperate, particulary since there was nothing in the logs to indicate there was a problem ... in fact, having switched the logs to Debug, they reassuringly told me that the deletion of the pending programmes had been successful, when they clearly had not been).
I set up a few dummy recordings to take place immediately. Nothing recorded, and I couldn't then delete the entries from the pending list. In fact, I couldn't delete them from the standard Recordings screen, but I could from the TV Recordings plug-in ... except they popped back again, so I was clearly operating only on a cache.
There was nothing in the Windows Event Log (that I could see) to indicate what was going wrong, but I was sure it must be something to do with security permissions, despite my ID having full admin rights.
I could find nothing in the Forum to suggest a solution (forgive me if it's in bold in half a dozen key posts from sub all labelled "Important - please read", but I REALLY did look hard for a solution from you guys & I found nothing).
In desperation, I switched off UAC (not something I really wanted to do).
SUCCESS !!! I could record & delete enties from the pending list.
To be sure that it was not something else I'd done, I put UAC back at the recommended level, re-booted, & lo & behold the problem resurfaced (no recording, couldn't delete pending entries).
Except switching off UAC is a bit of a nuclear option, so I thought about refining things.
I also thought about whether setting the PVRX2 & Config progs to run as Administrator. I couldn't see why this would help, since I AM an administrator, but what the heck ... I couldn't see why UAC notification should make a difference either, but it clearly does, so I tried it.
SUCCESS !!
So ... bottom line, after all this, all I had to do was right click the icons in my Start Programs list, choose Properties from the context menu that pops up, choose the compatibility tab, hit the Change options for all users button & tick the Run this program as an administrator check-box.
I've typed all this so that:
a) those of you older (unlikely) & wiser might be entertained for a short while
b) those of you as inexperienced as me, hitting a similar problem & seeking desperately for a solution might avoid the frustration that I had.
Oh, and in passing, it's an excellent program Sub - many, many thanks for all your efforts - at one point today I thought I was going to have to convert to Windows Media Center, & I wasn't a happy bunny.
