Does anyone know if you can use the older MCE remotes with the 2250? I have been using the one I got with a PVR150MCE with my PVR 1600 without problems. I'm getting too many dropped recordings due to the 1600's weak QAM tuner and am going to swap them out with a 2250. I can get the 2250 without the remote, but didn't know if my current remote will work or not.

I'm also using IR Server Suite at the moment and am hoping that's compatible with the 2250 as well.

While trying to puzzle out why the keyboard volume controls showed icons in PVRX2 and remote buttons didn't, I soon found that the remote is controlling system sound and the keyboard (when app is in focus) only the app sound - obvious with the Windows mixer panel alongside. Why can't I send the app codes instead when the program is running?

I have used Translator to map various combinations of Left/Right, +/-, ^Z/^X, with or without curly brackets, but the behaviour doesn't change. Any ideas?

I am just installing GBpvr to see if i like it better than WMC .
I have WMC running fine and it has no problems finding all channels available but I'm following the instructions to configure GBpvr and it will only find a few radio channels , bbc parliament and cbbeebies!

I have tried it a few times but with no joy.



what else can i do?

I like the look of GBpvr so far and think i would swap over if i can get all channels recognised.

BTW I'm on win 7 x64 and my tuner is a peak AF 9015 BDA

I have a PC (Windows 7) on my home network running GB-PVR (1.4.7) configured to record to its local hard drive.
I also have a NAS attached to my home network (Synology DS409+), with its disk configured to spindown/hibernate after 20 minutes of inactivity.
I have listed one of the NAS directories in the GB-PVR 'Video Library Directories', and suspect that this is causing the disks in my NAS to wakeup before and after every recording.
I reference the directory 'C:\Users\NAS_Library\NAS', which is a link to my NAS at \\192.168.x.x\NAS.
From the NAS log I can see that the disks get woken up a couple of minutes before a recording starts, as well as being woken up around 10 minutes after a recording completes - which relate directly to my GB-PVR 'Recording Padding' of 2 pre-show and 10 post-show minutes.
I really dont want to remove the reference to my NAS disk from the 'Video Library Directories' as my wife finds it very useful to quickly navigate to my archived recordings.

Question: Is there an entry I can make to the GB-PVR configuration file to stop it waking up the NAS disks before and after every recording.

Recently, (and only on a few channels) when I go into the TV Guide and select a channel to watch no picture or sound comes up until I hit the PAUSE button to start the recording session. Then after a second or two the picture appears and when I release the PAUSE button picture and sound are good as any other channel. Again this only happens on a few channel. Logs attached. Any Idea what's causing this and how to correct it?

got it all working visually, but as of now, I can record but i can not seem to get sound from it when I have anything recorded. I tried to find by looking though support and such and the settings in the GBPVR, but nothing.

I have sound when watching Live TV but not on recordings,

I am not near it now, so if i need the Log file it will come tommorow

I have my display working pretty well now, except I have tried to expand it to fill all the way out onto my LCD TV like the regular TV does. GBPVR Starts out with it expanded, but then quickly jumps to a smaller size. The GBPVR Menues appear to be expanded, but the television won't stick there but for a couple seconds then sizes down. It is tolerable, but I feel I should get more. I am set at 16:9 and have messed with configuration settings until I am blue in the face.

I'm trying to get TV guide up and running using a DVB-C card called FloppyDTV from FireDTV, the device is working in its own program and it was able to load EPG in Mediaportal, however in gbpvr it finds all the channels updates and maps the EPG, but when i try to view the TV-Guide it is completely empty.
I'm running "FireDTV DVB-C CI" device as Recording source, "DVB EPG Broadcast" as EPG source and "No channel changer".
The pvrx2.exe.log is a normal startup and pvrx2.exe-1.log/pvrx2.exe-2.log is startup with "pvrx2.exe -updateepgonly" option, in case it had any extra information.

I spent a chunk of time yesterday reinstalling my PVR with Windows 7 x64. One of the first issues I came up against was this one (glitchy sound).

But the big problem, which is a complete show-stopper, is very glitchy video. What I am seeing is intermittent tearing. The image will be fine for a second or two, then tear, then ok, then tear again. Sometimes this causes bad stutters, this is most noticeable watching sports. Even watching a news ticker, as it moves across the screen it will alternate between very clean and then blurry with tearing every few seconds. I have tried various splitters and video decoders, but nothing makes any difference at all.

I know it takes time to get this stuff tuned, but at least in XP, when I changed decoders I could see a difference and keep experimenting until I found flawless playback. It seems that Windows 7, nothing makes a difference. The codecs that were flawless in XP are very poor in Win 7.

It really feels to me that the codecs aren't the problem, rather something in the guts of Windows 7 just screws up de-interlacing. I'm almost ready to roll back to XP. Anyone got a clue with this?

This is a bit odd, when I try to do some analog recordings, most of the time, all goes well, however, sometimes, it starts out good, then all of the sudden, it looks like it is recording through a lens of mud.
It just gets, very, very dark, and there is no recovery.

It isn't the playback software, nor the machine, since it happens on multiple machines that I view the file.
I even tried VLC, and it was too dark to make out what is going on.

Nothing in the logs indicate any problem at all.

Any pointers to finding out what the issue is?
