So i just built a computer im trying to get as a small time game machine but mainly for PVR things,
I have a Hauppauge 1600 and im trying to use it for antenna channels. i can see plenty with my wintv software that came with it. but i can't seem to get the right setup to see any in the PVR. the most i can get it to do is scan and see 4 channels that i cant select enable on.
I've looked at the "new" setup tutorial PDF file and still hasn't worked.
And as a second minor thing, need to figure out how to get the remote to work if possible.
Can anyone help me? I'm not sure what information you need from my system to help me with the problems, so please be patient, this is my first time!
I've been ignoring this for a while, but the WAF is on a negative trend.
In my old XP setup I put a shortcut to PVRX2 in the start menu Startup folder and it worked fine to start PVRX2 on boot. I didn't pay any attention to which start menu (all users, HTPC user, etc), it just worked.
Now I'm in Win7 and when I put the PVRX2 shortcut in the user's Startup folder (the only one I can easily get to because of security), I end up with PVRX2 minimized to the taskbar and cannot get it to maximize (I have it set for full-screen in config). Hauppauge IR.exe is in the same startup folder, and it works OK. It has been this way since the first installation of GBPVR on a new Win7 install.
So, is this a Win7 security quirk, a problem with my basic Win7 install, or a PVRX2 quirk?
I have achieved my Dvb-S,Hauppague USB 2 Nova, set up but when I attempt to set up my second tuner,
Pinnacle 73e,
which used to be my primary set up and I know works, Saves setup but does not update Epg hence no mapping.
Appears to load but at the end does not display channels to be mapped with consequence error message which says after attempting to map "GB-PVR was unable to display the Bda device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and is not already in use.(Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA configured capture device)"
The 73e woks with original software (far inferior to GB-PVR) and I cannot see what I am doing wrong.

I have been using GB-PVR with cable for some time now, and it has worked out great. Recently, I cancelled my cable and switched to an antenna. The problem is that I cannot see anything besides fuzz through my computer now. When I plug the antenna directly into the TV, I get many clear channels.
I updated the config to Internal Tuning -> Antenna. I am using schedulesdirect to receive channel information and I have updated that too. My capture card is Hauppauge PVR150, and I am using GBPVR 1.4.7.
Any thoughts as to how I can fix this? Thank you for your time!
I have many recordings that I rip on my laptop and copy over to my PVR. This has worked great for a long time. Recently the sound giving me problems so I started fiddling around with various settings until I discovered it was my external amplifier which was faulty. I bought a new amp, and now videos have very, very faint voice when played through GBPVR but sound fine when I play them through WMP. I'm guessing when I suspected it was a codec issue, I changed something I shouldn't have.

audio not the greatest, but apparently it has headers inside for the others..

it has a nice dual heatpipe architecture that should keep it fairly cool and it completely silent..truely fanless for a change..
4 sata ports inside, tho i'm not sure how you'd use them all...lol [external esata headers?]
but it is kinda roomie inside without bulky heatsinks..[inside at least]
no room inside for optical disk, but those are easy, just get a slim usb external and place it where you can load it..pc could remain hidden..
they have several other models, and other chipsets also.. i saw a tiny fit2pc sized box but it had no markings on it at all and barely any heatsink visible...can't find it's maker anywhere but i can ask where it's from..didn't even get warm..
well, just thought someone might wanna know...not too many out there are actually fanless..
I am using GBPVR 1.4.7 with a Hauppauge HVR 1600 card. I have basic cable which includes a mixture of analog and digital channels. The digital channels are clear QAM. I can see and record the analog channels.
I have added a second capture device and selected Hauppauge HVR-1600 (QAM) for the capture device. I scanned for the digital channels and they were found.
However, I cannot view or record a digital channel because they do not show in the guide. What must I do to view a digital channel, for example 110-1? What must I do to record a channel that does not appear in the guide?
Client is Dell 11z netbook, Win 7 home premium, wireless n
Server is XP sp3
Once I put them in the same workgroup, networking seems fine
Set the netbook as client, streaming in config/capture sources
tried both server name and IP for server
clicked ... for Database Share to get the gbpvr share (also used IP here)
gbpvr share is in c:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr
I can read and write to the gbpvr share, movies play fine in w media player
The GBPVR Interface comes up, but nothing is connected. No TV Guide, Recordings shows "No shows ready to watch"
