This sticky thread contains information about developing plugins for NextPVR.

I've updated this first post to collect together the sample plugins I've posted later in the thread.

- Test1.zip/Test2.zip use a framework similar to that used by GBPVR in the past, but only really exist to help users porting old plugins over to NextPVR. It's not recommended you use these in new plugins.

- Test3.zip shows a simple NextPVR plugin, in the style of many of the built in screens, with list of items and hidden menu bar at the top of the screen. It also shows how implement a popup, and a settings screen.

- TestRecorder.zip provide a skeleton recorder for those wanting to implement support for custom tuner types.

There is plenty of other useful discussion later in this thread, and in other threads posted in the developers forum, but if you need more info, or want help on getting started, just post and I'll point you in the right direction.

Well, bugger it. I misremebered that you dropped support for OSD via plugins in the pvrx2 interface. Is there no hope at all for adding it back? You obviously have the ability in code to do it, is it that hard to expose it to plugins?

I don't mean that in a negative way, it just seems like it should be relatively easy to allow a plugin to call a method to put up some text and an icon.

Grumble, I really don't want to use MythTV...

I used this info from the forum to create a batch file for my clients to start the server before GBPVR is loaded. I just recently rebuilt the server with a new motherboard and it seems that it is a little slower to load things than the old one and concenquently i am getting the red X's on my clients.

The simple fix is having the bat delay starting pvrx2.exe but i have not figured out what the wait command is

Can someone help. here is the basic file info i am looking to place the delay between echo server found (wait 5 seconds) then C:\Progra~1\devnz\GBPVR\PVRX2.exe

Martin, I didn't know if this should be here or the plugin forum.
I'm not sure if this was always the case but I can't seem to get any volume control working on webradio. I tried changing the volume key mappings back to page up/down but that doesn't seem to have help. Is this a known limitation or is it just me?

Tonight I installed GBPVR on my XP SP3 box with a Hauppage WinTV TD-500 Dual DVB-T tuner. Install and config went great (and smooth), but when going to watch TV GBPVR crashes on C4 (NZ Freeview). Sometimes it immediately reports "No signal" and then locks up and sometimes it will play a few seconds and then report the same error.

This box was actually just running Media Portal, I disabled the MP services etc and after playing with GBPVR, re-enabled and it plays C4 fine (but gives me different kind of grief).

Anyway, I'm now suspecting there is something up with my rig that is contributing to my problems, specifically the Hauppage tuner - but I'm not really sure.

Attached are the logs from GBPVR from tonight - if anyone is able to shed some light on where I should start looking (based on the logs) I'd really appreciate it.

Hi. My cable provider recently switched our channels around and GBPVR isn't picking up a single channel in scans anymore, I don't know why. WinTV found the new channels. I found some threads on here about mapping them manually, downloaded TSReader, but I can't figure this out nor get TSReader working.

The new channels are:
117.1701
82.1601

I don't know how to derive the remaining info.

Editting Tips:

2. Trm video
Click “Trim” button, a dialogue will pops up.Then you can trim the videos by dragging the slider bar, click "Start Time" and "End Time" button, or setting the values



3.Crop video
Click “Crop” button and you can crop videos by selecting a crop mode, adjusting the crop frame, or setting the crop values.

I need this SRT that is important for translate.
do you all have example SRT from NTSC and PAL format?

After a computer hardware glitch, I now start PVRX2 only to find my list recordings does not appear, even though all the recording files are still on my hard drive.

I assume PVRX2 maintains a database of recordings. Is there any way to reconstruct this database from the files on disk?

Or, if I'm totally off-base, is there any way just to get my recordings to show up in PVRX2 again?

I had an 8600gt Video card in my pvr for the longest time and it was ok but the final straw on this card was when the fan started making noises which drove me bonkers one day and I opened the case and removed the heatsink and fan to clean the fan and broke the cheap plastic pin that holds the heatsink to the board.

Without the heatsink firmly in place the gpu will no doubt burn up so that was a huge mistake.

So as I threw the flipping video card on the ground in pure anger thinking I have no pvr until I get a new card I entered my motherboard model into google and realized my motherboard has on board video. (p5lmx)

No HDMI but it is directx 9.0. I loaded the drivers and started pvrx2 and was amazed at the picture quality of High Def Survivor. The picture was at 1450x1080 I believe and was for sure interlaced because I remember seeing the lins sometimes on pannings but the picture was soo sharp like I was in overlay mode or something...

anyway the audio would drift at times so I grabbed another computer that had an ati4200 pro card (correction... it was a 2400 pro) and put that in the pvr and man the picture sucked. You could see bad pixellation on the walls and faces and everything stationary had blotches of moving pixels... Annoying as hell.

After trying many different modes I ditched the card and went back to the GMA950 on board video since the quality was amazing even beating the 8600gt.

Well too my surprise now the gma950 was de-interlacing the pictures and the sharpness of the video is lost again and after days of trying every option and codec I could never recreate the non interlaced overlay picture quality.

I have been reading reviews on the HD5450 Video card I am seriously thinking of getting on for $54.99 cdn.

Some reviews stated the card could not do some important de-interlacing however the problem was a driver issue that has since been corrected.

Does anyone here have the card or are thinking of getting one and have some opinions or what to get?

Does the card work nice with the HDPVR h.264 files?
