Cannot get drag and drop favourites to work
Posted by: agerdin - 2010-03-14, 06:47 PM - Forum: Music Spot - Replies (33)

Thanks McBainUK for the start of what might become the "killer plugin" for the GBPVR. I think many of us have been wating for this.

I Installed it and manged to search, add and play within GBPVR. However, I did not get the drag and drop to favourites functionality to work. I only got the "not allowed" icon trying to drag directly from spotify. Also tried to add a spotify url file but nothing came up in the list.

Finally, I saw that you have NMT support as todo. This is actually what I will need the most. Is it doable? I vote for this as being prio 1 Smile

Thanks again,

\\Agerdin

Possible render bug: mini guide "find all"
Posted by: imilne - 2010-03-14, 04:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

The following steps all work fine with the main menu's TV Guide. Using the (F1) mini-guide in live-tv mode however results in the final popup window not rendering correctly.

- Select F1 and get the mini guide up (screenshot1)

- Select a programme and go to the Find All option (screenshot2)

- The results list then appears, but doesn't render correctly. It's nearly fully transparent, and only by scrolling up or down can you get something to be (almost) readable (screenshot3)

This is on XP SP3, using VRM9 FSE.

It's obviously not a big deal, but I thought I'd point it out anyway.

  Client-Server issue Windows 7
Posted by: ScaryBox - 2010-03-14, 03:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Just a reminder for everyone...

I recently upgraded two pc's in my home to Windows 7. One (Server) is my Home Theatre PC the other my regular computer.

I struggled with Windows 7 eventually installing GBPVR into a "public" directory of the HTPC, shared with my homegroup, in order to get the client to see the GBPVR directory. (database share et al)

The thing I forgot...I've seen a few posts in the forum.....You must set Windows Firewall on the server to allow the GBRecordingService through. After I remembered that, the client computer was able to play the live TV.

The playback on the client is still quite choppy using both streaming and file sharing. I'm working on that.

If anyone has any thoughts, I'd be glad to hear them.

Community Skin WS Big Red X
Posted by: stangdaman - 2010-03-14, 06:11 AM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (2)

I recently upgraded GBPVR to 1.4.7 and then upgraded the community skin as well. Whenever I try to go in to the skin option on PVRX2 now I get the big red x. I'm sure I just have something set to the wrong directory but any tips would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.

  Hadu crash?
Posted by: chrisevans1001 - 2010-03-14, 04:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody is using Hadu successfully? I've tried it and it has very fast channel changes but the moment I try leave GB-PVR or change over to a FTA channel it crashes PVRX2.

I've tried Acamd as well - this seems reasonably stable but I have noticed if you do a lot of channel changes really quickly it messes it up and then seems to not pick up that you've changed channels after. It also seems to try to login in more than once to CCcam.

I'd be happy to post the required logs for Hadu in case it is something that is easily fixed but not sure which ones will be relevant?

Also, I suspect Hadu won't work for me anyway. I intend to run 5 MediaMVP off this machine one it's working ok but I think Hadu only allows 1 signal to be decrypted?

Cheers

Chris

wake intel pc with mvp remote!
Posted by: pBS - 2010-03-13, 10:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

well i finally found the silly CIR dongle that can be used on a Intel motherboard as a mce remote..Smile
http://cgi.ebay.com/IR-Receiver-with-Cab...4cec7c4a29 $19 US $24 with remote
designed to be mounted internally, it's pretty small..
i thin blasters are just external ir eyes, and a detection circuit to tell how many are plugged in...[not included]

nice thing is, seems *all* the CIR compatible receivers can use RC5 [mvp silver remote, etc] remotes for wake and commands...[now why doesn't it work on mce dongles? grrr ]
that dongle plugs in Intel Media series board CIR header, i haven't found a blaster, but it does have dual blaster capability and separate header for ir eyes..

i have also found schematics for making one..Smile
[not many parts either]
the driver comes on intel cd, it should be compatible with any soft that can drive mce remotes..

it's same setup as hauppauge "WinTV 23885/7/8 Consumer IR" setup..which can also use RC5 remotes to to wake system....Smile
anybody have one of those? i'm assuming it's a mce lookalike possibly plugged into usb..
[driver "hcw85cir.inf" is almost identical to intel's]

a mce dongle is going to be simlar in capabilities, but it can't be woke from RC5 remote..[even tho it knows how to decode signals.]
so that's why i'm getting one, and use my old MVP 45 button remote alone with sleep/wake ability..
i'll try to see if i can't use the RC5 power key code on MCE dongle...but they look quite different..

if anybody has any insights into translating one to the other let me know any ideas..

  No Signal on Windows 7
Posted by: chris-at - 2010-03-13, 10:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I've replaced my old PC with one running Windows 7 (x86) but I'm still using my Hauppauge Nova-SE2 (DVB-S).

The problem is that GB-PVR 1.4.7 doesn't get a signal.

I've checked
- card and connection is OK (Windows Media Center can receive TV)
- Windows Media Center doesn't interfere (stopped the service)
- configuration is the same as on the old PC where it was working
- logfile (attached) shows no errors

What could be the problem?

thanks, chris

  Show Your System!
Posted by: ga_mueller - 2010-03-13, 10:03 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

OK, this may be a bit lame, but I thought it would be cool to show the physical setup of our GBPVR's... all those perfectly functioning systems throughout the world! (in my case Silicon Valley, CA) My constraint was that it all had to fit in a pre-existing cabinet (else WAF=0) and I didn't want to go to the hassle of remote-ing everything, so 32" it was. As you can see, the system comes well-accessorized with included cat...Smile

Thanks again for a great piece of software, and wonderful learning experience.

George

No know cards deteced in this machine
Posted by: gonzo90017 - 2010-03-13, 06:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I installed GBPVR in Windows 7. But when trying to setup my TV card I keep getting that error message. The card's drivers are installed (Avermedia Duet A188). These work fine using 7mc.

Channel lists don't match, can't delete.
Posted by: tomekz - 2010-03-13, 05:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I had some problems with the channels. Dish network recently changed channel 406 (SETENTA) to Fox Soccer Plus. The channel no longer updated.

I tried everything fixing it, but couldn't .. . I finally created a new analog source, etc, and now the channel shows up correctly in the channel list under my new analog source..

However, the other list still shows the wrong list, and the TV guide still shows the wrong list.

How do I deleted all the channels from the TV guide and have them reload.
I can't seem to find a way.

thanks,
