  no channels are found
Posted by: sammawatt - 2010-02-22, 06:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi!

I have a MSI TV@nywhere Satellite II DVB-S2 card.
I followed the installation guide I found in this forum (from Systemshark), but I can't get it to work.

In the configuration I checked the box "Only show de ices detected in this machine", there I can select the Twinhan AD-SP300 and the Technisat SkyStar HD2 Card.

I have a Diseqc Switch with the satellite Astra (19.2) on SimpleA and Hotbird (13.0) on SimpleB.

At the end I press "EPG mapping", but then I get an error:
"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use."

Then I tried to make a new entry in the BDS.ini:

[eigene Karte]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER=DTV-DVB Mantis DVBS BDA Receiver
FILTER_CAPTURE=DTV-DVB Mantis DVBS Caputre BDA Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

(in the FILTER_CAPTURE Section ist a spelling mistake, but the entry in Graphedit "BDA REceiver Components" shows exactly that spelling! Obviously a mistake in the driver...)

With that setting I get the new card "eigene Karte". Wehn I set it up and press EPG mapping, the error ist gone. The scan runs, but nothing is found (0% signal and 0% quality).

Maybe I have the wrong settings in the LNB part? I can't find the Hotbird and for Astra there are several entries. (Would be helpful if the position was in the list as well.)

Could anyone help me by giving a hint? Do you need the filterlog?

I couldn't get mediaportal to work as well (always "couldn't start graph").

btw: The Satellite Card works with the program supplied by the manufacturer.

Thanks in advance!

alex

  Control screensize on HDMI output from ATI HD4200
Posted by: mila06 - 2010-02-22, 07:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

My media center is built with Windows 7 and an onboard ATI HD4200. It works very well, but once in a while I experience a "funny" thing
about screen size. If I switch the media center on first(and wait untill it is up and running), and then afterwards turns on the TV and switches to the correct HDMI channel on the TV, it happens that the Windows desktop switches to the right resolution(i can hear the "connect-a-usb-device-sound") but gbpvr remains in a 4:3 solution.
So I can see some of the Windows desktop right to gbpvr, though I run gbpvr in full screen(?). Gbpvr is the active application and I then have to close gbpvr and open it again to get gbpvr to fill the hole screen.

It is not very good for the WAF!

I have set the desired resolution in the ATI control panel, but it seems that it is first used when it detects a screen(tv) on the HDMI-port.

It's a bit hard to explain. Is it understandable?

  Composite channel configuration problem.
Posted by: seymoria - 2010-02-22, 07:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi.

I have four configured tuners working OK. I have connected an external source (dish receiver) through one tuner.

I manually created a new (5th) capture source and called it 'Composite'. I then manually added a channel called 'Composite' to each of the 4 capture sources.

The composite channel is now appearing in live tv with the rest. However, its not linked to or receiving any signal from my dish receiver. What could be the problem?

Thanks for the advice.
Regards.

  Missing RadioTime stations from WebRadio
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2010-02-22, 05:38 AM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (6)

There are a couple stations that I have in my RadioTime presets, but I can't seem to find in the RadioTime listsings under the WebRadio plugin.

It seems that both (WPHT & KYW) are owned by CBS radio - are those stations not available? I can listen to them via Media Center...

I'm not sure how the plugin pulls data to get station listings, so it could be that those stations aren't compatible somehow.

One other question - how do I set my local area for the plugin? It seems the "local" stations are for Baltimore - I live between Atlantic City & Philadelphia...

  GB PVR does not see TV card
Posted by: Johnny Lugnuts - 2010-02-22, 05:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi everyone! Smile

I've just done a hardware upgrade and reformat on my rig. Installed the latest version of GB PVR, but it doesn't see the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 card. Device manager says it's there and working properly.

What to do? :confused:

Thanks for any help you may provide.

Johnny

  GBPVR does not start or initialize Hauppauge HVR 1600 ATSC tuner
Posted by: cafferj - 2010-02-22, 01:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

When I am trying to map the channels in configuration GBPVR finds no channels at all. The card works fine in MCE and Media Portal. The logs simply report no signal. Is there anything I can do to get GBPVR to initialize the card? I am solely interested in OTA ATSC channels. I have tried in XP and in Windows 7, and I would be happy to work in either system.

  Windows Installer Messages when running GB-PVR config utitlity
Posted by: FirstTeamOPS - 2010-02-21, 11:56 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (7)

Haven't seen this one. On a fresh install of Windows 7 Premium, every time I start the GB-PVR configuration utility I am getting "Please wait while Windows configures GB-PVR" popups. It prompted for the location of "GBPVR10407.msi" so I pointed it to my local copy but it didn't repair the problem. After the popups, the Config utility does appear however.

I looked at the Event Viewer. There a bunch of information and warning messages from the MsiInstaller. Here are the relevant texts:

Quote:WARNING:
Detection of product '{04584A06-E3DA-4A8F-A1A9-E91EFF5B6829}', feature 'Complete', component '{9E7A2026-7510-4C94-BC03-EE27A22A6E43}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\web\ManageNav.ascx.cs' does not exist.

Quote:INFORMATION:
Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: GB-PVR. Product Version: 1.4.7. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Menten Holdings Ltd. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603.

Did a quick search did find an MSI exit code page:
Quote:1603
Fatal error during installation.
ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE

As the Event Viewer messages suggests, I do not have a "ManageNav.ascx.cs." I have "Manage2.aspx.cs" and the next file is "ManualRecord.aspx" in C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\web\

In the EWA build 83 archive, I don't see that file.
In the GB-PVR 1.4.7 msi, there is a "ManageNav.ascx" and a "ManageNav.ascx.cs."

Stats:
Windows 7 Premium x32
GB-PVR 1.4.7
EWA build 83

  Issues with built-in tuner card
Posted by: Sparrow - 2010-02-21, 07:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I recently purchased Samsung T240HD LCD Monitor. This monitor has built-in TV tuner. My primary reason for buying this device is for PVR. My question is how can I install and use the GB-PVR on my computer so that I can use the GB-PVR features with this monitor. During the installation, it asked for card type, I do not know the card type since the tv tuner card is built in. Please someone tell me what to do in order to install and use the software with Samsung unit.

  New Divx codec available
Posted by: luttrell1962 - 2010-02-21, 06:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

http://labs.divx.com/node/4904#Download682

Installed in windows 7 x64 Supports multiple cpu's

I was using mpeg4 codec since it supports multiple threads for file conversions but will give this new codec a try. Am converting ts files to 720p, but two pass is pretty slow. One pass quality is not that good with mpeg4, will be testing it today.

  Domain registration
Posted by: SLR_65 - 2010-02-21, 03:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

I'm considering leaving my isp, which means I'll lose my email address I've had forever. I know, I know, I should've been using hotmail, gmail, etc. instead of one tied to my isp!

I'm thinking I may like to just get a domain, no real pressing reason as it would just be for family use but I think it would just be fun to have a more personalized email address.

Anyway, the number of domain registration companies is dizzying and trying to do research on them it seems most have problems with customer service -> especially if you are unhappy with them and try to move your domain to another registration company.

Would anyone care to recommend a company they've had good luck with?

I would like to have 5 to 10 email capability with it.

Thanks!

Steve
