  zap2xml - issues?
Posted by: big3b69 - 2010-02-16, 07:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Anyone else having issues with it today? I tried to update the listing and that had issues but eventually it downloaded, after 3 attempts. Now, when I go into the tv guide in gbpvr, I have cable channels listed, and I am only over the air. I have never changed any settings on either gbpvr or the zap2it account and verified that my settings are correct. The cable channels are showing up in the settings for the 2nd card, and they were never there before. I tried going to the zap2xml page but nothing lodes, my guess is they are updating the plugin exe file and I am going to have to download it when it is done, what do you all think?

Recorded program not playing PVRX2 changed file extension to avi before conversion
Posted by: luttrell1962 - 2010-02-16, 06:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Extract from PVRX2.exe log

Code:
2010-02-16 09:51:54.036 VERBOSE [1] PlaybackPositionManager.getLastPlaybackPosition(D:\livetv\Star Trek The Next Generation\Star Trek The Next Generation_20100216_01000200.avi)

I have pvrx2 set to do file conversion from ts to avi at night but this recording was ts. For some reason out of the blue after the recording the extension is being set to avi before the conversion. This just started to happen in the last couple of days.

I've attached config.zip (config.xml)

  Recording names
Posted by: marsot - 2010-02-16, 03:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi all,
i am new to this. I wanted to ask you, what is the format of the saved recorded file? ie. can it be something like abc-160210-1600.mpg (chanel name-date-time)?
This is important for me as i will have 3 dual tuner tv cards to save recordings on a network drive and i need to have a way to know which file is from wich channel.
Thanks!

  Is P4 2.53 and 512Mb RAM enough?
Posted by: fray_bentos - 2010-02-16, 01:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

Hi everyone, i have had GBPVR working on several machines over time but not as the primary TV setup for quite a while. Last night my freeview (DVB-T) recorder packed up and so i have wife approval to put GBPVR in the spotlight again.

The machine that i used to use is a P4 2.53 with 512Mb RAM (DDR) and what was a decent graphics card but it is struggling with playing/recording a single program-stutters, audio/video out of sync at times (and i have a dual tuner card yet to go in) using .ts format - so is anyone else successfully using similarly old hardware for a main box?

I will spend the time re-formatting/re-installing Windows XP if it is worth it but if the hardware is simply too underpowered now then i won't waste my time. (I should say the anti-virus [f-secure] is hogging a substantial part of the resources so i suppose i could uninstall that...)

Thanks for any opinions.

Problems playing back rec blk scrn / no audio
Posted by: mguebert - 2010-02-16, 04:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

I am attempting to get GBpvr working for a client server setup. I have the server side working. It is changing channels and recording the programs. However when I attempt to play them back in the client I get no audio or video and the client freezes.

I have collected the logs and I hope someone can help.

  Large photo library,what to do..
Posted by: Dave72 - 2010-02-16, 03:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

What do people do when they have a large digital photo library ?

I dont think my lib is 'too large' yet .. only 2000 photos in the main folder.

Navigating via the photo viewer in GBPVR is sort of a pain, having to flip down thru many pages of photos to get down to the recent pics. Im using an MVP, so the navigation is even slower than at the pc (have to wait for the MVP to catch up on keypresses so as not to overrun and confuse it.. lol)

The only thing I can think of is to put my photos into some folders, like Photos1-250, Photos 251-500, etc.

Maybe someone has come up with a better solution ?

  GBPVR RECORDING_SCHEDULE Field Definitions
Posted by: LewE - 2010-02-16, 02:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Documentation (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am experimenting with an application for my use which will pull information from GBPVR.db3 (primarily from the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table) and use it in another program I have written. There are two fields in the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table where it is not obvious what the various entry values mean for these fields: "status", "recording_type" and "recording_group"

I was wondering if there is any documentation on the meaning of these field values or do I just have to reverse engineer their meanings?

I treied to poist this in the Developers' Forum but wasn't able to post a new thread there so I picked this forum (although I know it is primarily for User Documentation) as the 2nd most approprite place to post.

I can manually update EPG but the automatic update does not work.
I am getting this error in the log:

"Error updating EPG Source (WinTV-HVR 1950): System.Net.WebException:
Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 205.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080"

More detailed log attached.

Hope someone can help.
