  DVD Playback Plugin
Posted by: JBreits - 2010-02-05, 08:26 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

Been using GB-PVR for a while and love it. The only shortcoming is that the packaged DVD plugin doesn't quite suite my needs for navigation. I need to be able to skip titles, etc. Because of this, I was thinking of developing my own little plug in to handle this.

I noticed a playDVD function in the plugin helpers, but is there a way that my plugin can control the navigation? Or maybe better put, can my application take input from the remote or keyboard and forward this on to the DVD Navigator filter?

Thanks,
JBreits

  ATSC/Hvr2250 - no channels found
Posted by: Datphysh - 2010-02-05, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

So I come to you wise guru's on my knees, begging for your assistance.

I have a hvr2250 card which is not able to pick up any channels on it's ATSC scan. Wintv7 picks up 17 different channels. GBPVR sees 0. I have been all over the forums and the wiki and can not figure this one out for the life of me.

I am running windows 7, gbpvr version 1.4.7, and current drivers from Hauppauge.

I followed the guide in this thread to the "T" so to speak.

I tried swapping the PsiParser.ax file with one from the survival guide (last version survival guide?) just to try it, and swapped it with the PsiParser.ax from the Wintv7 directory and still have no results. I have since returned to the original PsiParser that was install with 1.4.7.

I have attempted to retrieve the exact frequencies that wintv7 uses via the method of this thread here, specifically the posts by JavaWiz (post 59 and 61) even though they are for QAM instead of ATSC/OTA thinking that perhaps the method should at least be similar. However the code line doesn't return any exact frequencies. Actually no results at all.

I have tried editing the all.ini file (located in the /BDA/ATSC directory) with frequencies I found here as a desperate effort and still no results. I have returned the all.ini to it's original state. Was it the right file to change? I don't know, but like I said, I've reached desperation and am trying anything at this point.

I have another card, an HVR1800 that I had installed and had the exact same problem with although that one could pick up analog channels, I have not tried analog with the HVR2250. I swapped the HVR2250 for the 1800 with the idea that if I could get one of them to map I could copy the frequencies/file for the second one. It is my intention to run them both when this is finally completed.

So here I am, humbly requesting any thoughts, ideas, hopefully solutions.
If I need to provide any logs other than the config log please let me know.

Version 1.4.7 New Install - New Recordings Missing from Recordings List
Posted by: donovan_ict - 2010-02-05, 07:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I recently experienced a filesystem/bootsector crash on my tv pc, and took the opportunity to upgrade to windows 7. The system is running great and playing back all files I previously recorded, which were stored on other drives in the system.

Upon finishing install, I installed the latest GBPVR 1.4.7 and then copied over the config.xml gbpvr.db3 and recording-dump.xml from the crashed windows partition. I rebooted windows and GBPVR was up and running just as it was pre-crash.

Now I see a problem. I believe there may be some sort of lock on my database. The new recordings made this evening are not in the "Recordings" list. They do exist in the file structure, and playback on the screen.
I also just did a quick test of quick-recording a show, waiting a few minutes, cancelling the recording, and it did not show up in the "Recordings" listing.

I'm stumped!

ATI HD 650 Analog mpg size questions
Posted by: luttrell1962 - 2010-02-05, 04:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I'm not sure what part of the forum to post this hardware might be more appropriate.

I analyzed my mpg files that get recorded they are 720x480, my output from my cable box is just standard analog. Is this coming from my card like this in mpg2 format? The files are huge for a NTSC signal. I'm working on conversion down to 480x270 keeping the aspect ratio and changing bit rate to vbr.

1. I have question I always have some black on the left and right sides. Not as much when viewing a 16x9 video, but a lot in pillerbox. Does anybody know how many pixels I can strip off the sides during the ffmpeg conversion. I can trial and error it but that will take forever.

2. I've added the following code to config.xml, I want avi file but gb-pvr is passing an mpg extension to the destination file. This caused me problems until I figured it out. Now I copy the file in the gb-pvr directory and use it for conversion since you can't have the same input and output files. ffmpeg croaks.

Code:
<Conversion name="Divx 2-passanalog" exe="Divx2passanalog.bat" cmd="{SOURCE_FILE} {DEST_FILE}" targetExtension=".avi" />

  Help setting up remote
Posted by: Walt9Z - 2010-02-05, 03:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have GBPVR and a Hauppauge 2250 capture card. The card is connected to two DirecTV STB's. Both are connected to the composite inputs of the 2250. I can watch a single TV channel just fine, but I'm having a hard time setting up the remote.

Do I have to use the Hauppauge remote that came with the card, or should I configure the remote to control the STB's? I kind of assume that the remote needs to control GBPVR, then GBPVR has to be set up to send the right signals to each input source. But I just can't seem to get there.

Can anyone help???

recurring problem? channels have No Show Details but still record?
Posted by: 8ace - 2010-02-05, 12:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hello - this happened to me more than once before. Cured by reinstall after new O/S.

basically ... after many months of perfect behaviour, I get (No Show Details) for the channels (example 52 KEYEDT) where I have recurring recordings setup. And I also have another channel miraculously 'appears' with the show listings called 53 KEYEDT. But this channel 53 doesn't have my recurring shows.

Any idea how I can fix this weird little problem?

It's happened to me before also on a different machine. Just wonderin'

See screenshot.

  Weird recording conflict
Posted by: Jaggy - 2010-02-04, 10:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am not sure if I have seen this bug(?) reported before or not.

I have a season recurring recording "all episodes this channel" for Rough Science & it scheduled a recording tonight off TV6 from 8:30pm-9:00pm I then went to setup an "all this weekly timeslot" recording for James May's Big Ideas on SBS1 9:30pm-10:30pm & it came up with a conflict, when I checked the conflict it said it was conflicting with Rough Science, Huh?

The only way I found I could get rid of this conflict was to delete the "all this weekly timeslot" for the SBS1 recording & set it up as a "Record Once" recording & then it was happy........I just hope I remember to record the other two episodes in the next two weeks.

Dual Tuners With Different XMLTV Files
Posted by: skycyclepilot - 2010-02-04, 08:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have an analog signal on one tuner, and a digital signal on a second tuner - both in one computer.

I need to use MC2XML for the EPGs. The channel line up is different for the two signals, so I'll have to have two EPGs - one for the analog line up, and one for the digital line up.

I've been studying how to do this, and I'm not quite sure how to do it. Does anyone have any pointers on doing this.

  XMLTV GUI Grabber
Posted by: oxymoron - 2010-02-04, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

So I have manual got BBC HD and ITV HD working. I try and get listings for the channels but XMLTV GUI Grabber doesn't seem to stick to the channel mapping in GB-PVR config.

Anyone able to help?
