I managed to install gppvr and got it to work with my AnySEE E30 C+ on Windows XP Pro SP3 and would now like to get the remote to operate with gbpvr.
I have gone through wiki tutorials and searched on google and this forum but i cannot find anything that could enable me to proceed.
When i try to get config.exe to learn the new remote as a USB-UIRT, config.exe crashes. I am not able to find the right logs to post here. Perhaps someone can give me an idea on how to go about with that if this would help someone help me ?
I have tried to use some of the other usb-uirt profiles in the channel changer of the capture card but that does not seem to do the trick.
At the moment, the only positive thing is that the remote is able to move the mouse on the screen but sadly not in gbpvr.
Got back to my computer after the Super Bowl and got low drive space on my secondary drive. It has 200K available. Looked at the recording file for the Super Bowl game and it was a whopping 135 GB. Never had a recording problem before but probably never recorded a program that long since the last Super Bowl.
I recorded a program on Saturday with the same 'high' quality profile and that file was 2.61 GB for 1 hour. So this recording should have been in the neighborhood of 13 GB. I can't open the file at all... Media Player Classic, GB-PVR, VideoReDo, and VLC won't do anything with the file. Fdisk reports no file system problems with the disk.

The only thing I can think of is Media Center. I don't have MC configured but I did launch it this afternoon and was doing some poking around the app. The only thing I can come up with is that may have caused a problem where MC didn't give up control of the TV card.
I do have the file if anyone has a idea how I can recover/test it but I probably won't keep it around long as the hard drive is now full.
So, can anyone tell me what happened? Is MC known to cause issues with the hardware and/or software set?
Sub: I've had further correspondence with the developers of coreAVC regarding the unreliability of using coreAVC as a codec in GBPVR. Here's the latest email, that arrived today:
"What should be happening is the upstream filter needs to call NewSegment() on CoreAVC's input pin, to notify it properly that the stream has changed. Not doing so should be considered invalid directshow behaviour.
Regardless, I have modified CoreAVC so it should behave better if the stream changes without a NewSegment() call. You can find a demo build here: ..."

I recently upgraded to an ATI HD 4670 with a fanless cooler on it for my Win XP GBPVR box. At the same time, I decided to grab the latest drivers with the CCC bundle (10.1).
After installation I found that all the controls to adjust the geometry of the image on my TV, including over-scan were missing. I had to go back to driver version 9.11 or earlier to get them back. Having done a bit of a search, it seems others have seen this too.
Basically, the settings for the monitor/TV attached via HDMI are missing in newer drivers. Unfortunately, the older drivers that do have the settings seem to be buggy with the 4670. This effectively breaks this card for any kind of HTPC role. Very sucky indeed. I will have to go back to my 2600 Pro, with it's noisy fan.
I've got an issue with GB-PVR failing to record a show at 7pm on Sundays on Prime. I can't seem to replicate this - no matter how many other shows I attempt to record, even using the multi record they all work fine!
The show is Get growing with New Zealand. After this happened last week I removed and readded the tuners and tried everything I coulld think of but to no avail - I still got a 0 byte length recording again this week.
I record 3News on TV3 from 6pm - 7pm and nothing else is scheduled for that time so the 2nd Nova T 500 tuner is free.
I just purchased a Hauppauge HVR-4000 PCI card - will install h/w and gbpvr tonight. Being a single tuner and wanting to record from more than one transponder, I'd like to also install a WinTV-NOVA-S-USB2 for the second transponder. But then I'd have 2 tuners and only one dish - how do I connect both tuners to the one dish - a splitter box?
can anyone supply me with a working entry for the above? I found tonight that so said channel wasn't working. King of Sat provided me with new entries which I have manually edited in cache files but now getting very annoying commentary with the sound.
Problem is I can't find play with it as my wife is watching Flash Gordon on the client in the living room so only get about 2 minutes to tweak during ad breaks!!! And these don't have the commentary on.
Sub, pbs and all the others that have given me aid. I have almost everything perfect.
The developer has spent many hours writing this program. Please donate, I did not much but every little bit counts. The support on this forum is also excellent.
I use Windows 7 64 bits. I have an Happauge 1800. I have digital tv with Videotron in Montreal. Then I need to use a digital decoder and I use a coaxial cable to the capture card "tv in" input. I will not use some ir signal or epg because I will always record from the channel 3. The digital recorder will switch to the correct tv channel.
Then I used the TunningAssistant and select my Happauge capture card, the cable signal, country Canada. Then the software find the signal on channel 3 as expected. It say Channel 3 frequency 61250000.
Then I go to the config software and in the capture sources tab. In configure I click add. SourceName: Happauge, Recording Source: Digital Recorder Plugin, EPG Source: None, Channel Changer: No. Then I have an empty channel list in the bottom grid. I click add channel. Channel Name : Channel Name, Channel Number: 3, click ok and the I enter in the Tunning Request the 61250000 displayed in the TunningAssistant.
I changed the Recording Directories and all the other settings still have the default values.
Channels tab, the channel 3 appear there...
I click ok, it say the service is restarting and when I try PVRX2, I click on Live TV and nothing happen. Not crashing. What I am doing wrong?

For those in New Zealand recording Freeview HD, I can successfully play my HD recordings over my network onto a TV using an Apacer AL460 media player. It also enables deletion of the files from the remote and has HDMI output.
Prior to this I had been unable to find a media player that would play the h.264 mpeg4 with AAC or AC3 audio in a .ts container that is the format they are saved in by my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200 capture card, and nor could I find a way to transcode them so they could be viewed on another media player.
However I note that a firmware update BY23.2.7.0105 dated Jan 12 2010 is required to play the AAC audio otherwise TV3's AC3 audio is the only one that can be listened to! Updating the firmware is easy if the instruction is followed. I purchased this product as the specification stated it would handle all of these file formats (though I've seen a competing product that also states the same formats but excludes the combination we have here). When I first purchased the device and found I could not hear the audio on the other channels I contacted Apacer but it was not until my third attempt over about 10 days that I finally received a response. Then they were very helpful, maintained communication and eventually invited me to send file samples (which I posted on a DVD). Following that they advised me of the firmware update.
