  Audios Missing V 1.4.7
Posted by: athompson - 2010-02-02, 11:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been using gb-pvr for well over a year. I am particularly happy with the EPG and its presentation and the ability to mix tuning cards and other sources. I have actually had four tuning cards 2 pci and 2 usb working on one machine with good results.

I recently upgraded to version 1.4.7 using the new VB6 library.
After a clean ninstall and the channel scan I am prsented with two audio choices for some of the channels.
I select the non 'audio#2' choice for every channel.
When I start PVRX2 a number of these channels will present the video correctly but no the audio.
I have been able to examine the sqlite data file and I have found that the audio#2 tuning requests have been enterd into the source channel table.
This would ecplain the missing audios.
When I edit the tuning requests manually by alterring the audio PID's I can cure the problem.
This problem has been consistent for me using WIndows Xp, WIndows 7 and any combination of my tuning cards(USB Kword 300U, Peak dual and Compro Video Mates)
I have only been able to test using the DVB-T Freeview feed available to me.
Has anyone else come accross this problem?

  DVB EPG in Denmark
Posted by: daffy - 2010-02-02, 08:39 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

Hi!

Does anybody "out there" have knowledge about using DVB EPG Broadcast with Danish cable provider Yousee?

Hardware = Terratec Primergy C PCI.

When I choose "Update EPG", GBPVR will record up to one minute from each frequency in my tuning file, then run through them very (very) quickly, but without updating the EPG.

In the logs I can see, that GBPVR actually tries to extract info for each tuned channel, but this happens in something like a split-second. I would expect this to take a little more time than it does.

I read somewhere in this forum about a (similar) problem, where an entry like "E=T" (the channel was assumed to be encrypted) had to be removed from a bda scan file, but I cannot find such an entry anywhere.

Any ideas/howtos?

Regards

Black screen on playback with Win7, EVR and the MS DTV-DVD codec
Posted by: buzzydotinfo - 2010-02-02, 08:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all, [EDIT: will post logs when i can change the log level and renderer, i.e. not while I'm recording something]

Recorded TV playback is currently giving me a black screen. Setup is Win7 32-bit, a GeForce 220 GT card, Core2Duo 3GHz CPU, and GBPVR 1.4.7. Freeview|HD arrives via a Hauppauge 2200 card.

I had planned to use the EVR renderer and the MS DTV-DVD codec, as I thought this would provide the best picture quality and hardware-accelerated decoding. When I use this combination to play back a recording, I get a black screen. Stopping playback brings back the UI.

The VMR9 Fullscreen-Exclusive renderer and MS codec works, but the CPU usage is around 60%. The EVR renderer and Cyberlink PowerDVD8 codec works fine about 10% CPU.

Am I doing something dumb here (most likely), do the MS codec and EVR renderer simply not work together, or is this a genuine problem?

Cheers
Buzzy

  No audio after 30-40 seconds
Posted by: aion - 2010-02-02, 05:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Had an older version of GBPVR with a PVR-150 on XP SP3 and it worked flawlessly until Comcast decided to go digital. Purchased a HVR-1600, installed the card and software and upgraded to latest version of GBPVR. (removed the PCR-150 BTW). When I use WintTV7, the video and audio is fine but when I use GBPVR to watch live TV, map digital channels, or watch a recorded program, it only plays for 30-40 seconds and then the audio cuts out but video is fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

  HD picture problem
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-02-02, 04:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

When I use the BDA Recording Plugin to watch clearQAM HD channels, the picture is very jerky and jumps all over the place. The Direct Recording Plugin fed from my STB looks just fine. What could be wrong here.

  [DEV] my apologies....
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2010-02-02, 04:17 AM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (1)

Hey guys,

I want to apologize for not contributing much of anything to the project. I've pretty well lost all interest in customizing/tweaking GB-PVR. Various conflicts and compromises have left my HTPC functional at a basic level, but unable to achieve much of the vision I had when I first started out. With the loss of the 'dream', I've become content with it as-is which means there's no more energy for changing/improving/fixing anything. It records what it's supposed to most of the time, comskips it pretty well, plays it back just fine. None of the shortcomings are anything you or I could fix anyway. I think you get the idea.

I appreciate being invited to contribute, and very much appreciate all the work you've already done and are still doing. CS is a worthy project, no installation of GB-PVR is complete without it.

Future releases of GB-PVR and/or changes in my setup or desires may well re-kindle my interest in the project and get me 'geeked up' about it again. Should I have anything worthy to contribute I'll just post it in this forum for your consideration.

Regards,

Dave

  Windows 7 Libraries
Posted by: ForestKlown - 2010-02-02, 03:32 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

My favorite feature of Windows 7 is the Libraries. I have 3 hard drives, each with 2 folders..."Movies" and "Shows". So I made 2 libraries, 1 for the 3 movies folders and 1 for the 3 shows folders. I grouped by "(None)" so the the libraries look like all my movies/shows are in 1 folder(when they're really not).

I was wondering if GBPVR could be made to recognize my Movies Library and my Shows Library as folders so I won't have to look through 3 different folders to try and find what I'm looking for?

Thanks
Forest Klown

Audio out of sync when converted to h.264
Posted by: cisasteelersfan - 2010-02-02, 02:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have tried HDTV2MPEG2 and iFrame. They cut the commercials fine (no audio sync issues), but when I convert that file to h.264 (for my iPod) the audio ends up out of sync. This happens every single time I try to convert, doesn't matter what converter I use. Is this the fault of HDTV2MPEG2? Or is it the fault of the video converters?

Any ideas are appreciated.
