I have a Pinnacle PCTV 80e stick, and am trying to use it with GB-PVR. Everything seems to work, but the resulting dvr-ms file doesn't seem to have any audio in it when I try to edit it with TMPGENC 3 MPEG Editor. When played back in GB-PVR or Media Player Classic Home Cinema, however, the audio is there! Recordings made with Windows Media Center can be edited with TMPGENC 3 MPEG Editor, including the audio.
Is there some reason why dvr-ms files produced by GB-PVR are different than those made by Windows Media Center?
Have any of you used the installer from http://ninite.com/ I'm installing a used PC for a relative with no skills who wants to use a computer. This seems to be a great way of putting most of the tools I use on quickly.
Just recently stepped up to Windows 7 (64-bit version). Things went pretty smoothly using mvallevand's NMT installer - although I had to perform an extra reboot before video & music would play on the popcorn hour - but I had everything set up with my PVR-500's
Adding the HDHomeRun tuners was tricky. Don't know if it was a Windows 7 issue or a 64-bit issue, but GB-PVR's scan seemed to be detecting the channels I recieve over the air (kept seeing indicators of a signal), but no channels would be detected.
The HDHomeRun setup app detected the stations fine & i could view them in VLC.
Thanks to a tip from h0tw1r3 on the Silicon Dust forums, i was able to workaround by booting back to my Windows XP disk & running the WizBdaChannelTool, I was able to save my channel mapping & then load it again after booting back to Windows 7. GBPVR worked like a champ after that w/o having to rescan & map everything.
Don't know if this issue is specific to the HDHomeRun or if other BDA devices have the same issue, but the workaround is pretty simple - provided you are able to boot back to your prior installation. I wanted to document this in case anyone else has the same problem.
If you will be over-writing your Windows XP partition when installing windows 7, make sure you run the utility & save off the channel mappings, otherwise you could be SOL when re-installing GBPVR.
IMO, it's probably a good idea to run the utility before upgrading or re-installing anyway - saves the hassle of having to rescan & remap all your ATSC or QAM channels
After reading the wiki & thinking MLx would do what I want & then finding out things don't work as I expected them to work I thought rather than just getting more disappointed with each thing that doesn't do what I expect it to I would ask you long term users what are it's strong points & why do you use it?
I have been trying to work out why all/most of you use tkgafs mode as it just doesn't make sense to me, if tkgafs mode does what I think it does, which I am now starting to think it doesn't?

Just got done playin around with it, let's ya open http, rtsp, and mms streams on the device.
Was surprised to be able to get it to work with gbpvr.
Streamed a few recordings and even some Live TV from the ATSC tuner.
Set the GBPVR Web streamer to the iPhone's native resolution of 480x320,
and play around with the bit rate, transcoding options, etc. go from there...
On a decent connection it actually worked. Can see myself killin a lot of time playin around tryin to optimize this.
Please help, I had to reinstall my OS and lost my good COMCLEAN.BAT file. I was using Mencoder and do not seem to be able to get my .bat file back to what I had before. I just want to be able to skip commercials in GBPVR using postprocessing.bat and then put it back over the top of the original so that when I go back into my recordings the commercials are skipped and I can watch the movie commercial free. This also helps me keep my file sizes down a little. I used to use Mencoder I think but am not for sure? Can anyone help me with the best way to skip the commercials (postprocessing.bat). Seems simple but it does not seem to be working like I had it before.
I've the Hauppauge 1600. On wintv 7, i get a handful of channels that I don't get on GBPVR. I've played around with increasing BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds & BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds, but still can't get those channels. I recognize they must be coming in at pretty weak frequencies, but would still like them to show up.
I want to check the recording status of GBPVR (recording, or not recording) in a batch file. So I can put the system into hibernation from Postprocessing.bat, if no recording is in progress.
I found an old utility RecStatus.exe what should the trick.
It is however not compatible with the current version of GBPVR (it cannot connect to GBPVR.mdb).
I have both a MVP and a NMT on my network, I don't seem to be able to get both to play Webradio at the same time. Is this a limitation of the software, or do I have a problem in my setup?
I just installed a BFG GeForce 210 video card. I uninstalled the onboard video driver and installed the new video drivers. Video is working well and so is playback including audio through the HDMI cable. I went to watch live tv and it says no tuners are available. So I check config and my tuners are there. Just in case I downloaded the latest ATI 550 Pro drivers and installed them and still no success.
I have attached my logs and hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I am running XP with 1.4.7. I have two ATI 550's and a Hauppauge 2250 (it is not configured yet, but it is installed). Everything was working well before this change. I have checked to make sure all the cards were seated properly.
After playing around with it some, I realized I could record live tv and play it back. I just can not watch live tv. So this may point me to a codec issue?
