  Delete Mappings
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-01-25, 03:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I accidentally mapped a channel to the wrong digital channel and cant figure out how to delete that mapping. Is there any way to delete one mapping. Also when I click the button that says "Delete Mappings", it says all mappings are gonna be deleted, but it doesnt delete any mappings. Am I misunderstanding?

Video freezing, or not even appearing, after channel change - particularly HD chans
Posted by: peter_h - 2010-01-25, 01:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I've just installed a card and GBPVR, so I'm a newbie going through the pains of something new and unfamiliar, and am in need of a little help.

In Config>Playback, all my options for decoders are on FFDShow, except HE-AAC, which is set to Monogram. See my signature for details of my setup.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think all NZ Freeview channels are h.264 video with HE-AAC audio. (Could someone confirm this for us?)

Despite my CPU never reaching 100%, LiveTV is feeling sluggish and unreliable.

All of the HD channels are unwatchable - the video freezes for a while and then plays a few seconds, then freezes, etc. It's as if the CPU is maxed out - but it isn't. e.g. on the "Freeview|HD" channel, it was doing this while the CPU never got above 40%. On the TV3|HD channel, it just was blank, but the CPU went to 80-90%. Sound played generally fine during this, but sometimes with some choppiness.

Also, changing channels takes at least 3 secs. Longer if I'm going in or out of HD channels, I think. (I'm not 100% sure, as I'm not exactly sure which channels are HD and which aren't - is there a list somewhere, for NZ channels?)

It's as if its having trouble getting the signal, or the signal is dropping out. Which would be odd, as I'm so near the transmitter. Hauppauge Signal Strength Meter reads an SNR of 32, and gives me the green light.

Or there's something faulty about FFDShow? Is there a better h.264 decoder I should be using?

Appreciate all suggestions... Smile

  Newbie looking for Help!
Posted by: bloska - 2010-01-24, 11:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hey guys;

I have been having a hell of a time getting GB-PVR to work on my machine, and since you guys are such a great community, i figured i would ask for help (after searching the forums of course).

I have gotten everything to work with Windows Media Center, but I dont want to use it Wink

first, the nessicary hardware info;
Caputer/Tuner: Hauppage HVR-2250
Version: Most current

My Provider is: Rogers Cable (digital) in Ontario Canada
Set Top Box: Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000

GB-PVR CFG settings:
Capture Source:
- Name: Card
- Plugin: BDA Recording Plugin

When Editing capture source:
Source: Digital Recording Plugin
-under the settings options
-Device Type: Hauppaage 2250 (NOT QAM, although it is an option)
-Device Number:1
-Country: All Countries
-Frequency: Default

EPG Source: Scheduals Direct
All Channals appear here. in the correct order, and i have enabled them, however when i try to map them it doesnt detect ANYTHING.

I have fiddled around with other settings, but from what ive read on these forums, I have interpreted this to be the correct setting.

Problems:
-Guide does not initialize, i.e when i hit enter the screen flashes and nothing happens.
-Cannot watch TV

Problems with other settings:
When using Analog settings for my capture source, the guide works beautifully. However, when trying to watch the TV, i get a black screen and the sound is white noise (static)

Well...that abouts sums it up. Apparently I fail at these PVR things Wink Any help would be appreciated. And if you need more info from me, just tell me!

Whenever I play an mp3 from within the music plugin I get the message "albumartaggregator has encountered a problem and needs to close" No more info in the event viewer. The mp3 will play but that message will come up everytime a new mp3 is played. Anyone have any idea?

  mvpmcx2 Setup With PCH
Posted by: jdconnel - 2010-01-24, 09:08 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm new to a lot of this, and I still feel like I spend most of my time looking up acronyms Smile

Here's where I'm at.

I had GBPVR running well on my downstairs PC.
I have a PCH C-200 on my upstairs TV, and just learned I can have it pull the TV Guide and functionality of it to my PCH (So Cool! I assume this is correct)

I installed MVPMCX2 via the dummies guide.
Seemd smooth. The first time I did it I entered my MAC address with ":'s"
(i.e. 00:06: DC:XX:XX:XX). I since re-ran just the setup portion and entered
0006DCXXXXXX.

I am running windows XP. The machine now has a shared folder (with the option for users to modify files selected)

On the PCH I have setup the display settings from Auto to 720P.
I have added a network share to the PC and directory.

When I navigate to the mapped location I see "GB-PVR.html" and that's it.
Running that .html I see a blue background with a menu. Options include:
"GB-PVR", "GB-PVR via Network Browser" and "GB-PVR via USB.

Since I don't have an internal drive or a usb, I picked the Network Browser option.
I get "Request cannot be processed"

So I ran the GB-PVR option.
THe first time I ran it I got a white screen with something about telenet and port 23.
The second time I ran it I get:
mcmvx2 is loaded killall: gay

What am I missing?

Thanks,
James

P.S. This has so far been one of the best forums in helping a rookie I've run across yet! You guys rock.

  Empty EPG

When I click "Empty EPG" is that supposed to remove all the listings so I can start over? This seems to do nothing at all.

Failed to start ATI TV Wonder HD 600 PCIE tuner
Posted by: SHIFT_paradigm - 2010-01-24, 08:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I am looking for help getting a second tuner functioning. It is an ATI TV Wonder HD 600 PCIE tuner. When I try to configure the device I don't see an exact match in the tuner list so I just pick the ATI 650 ATSC tuner from the list with the "installed only" checkbox populated. When I try to map channels I get a "failed to start" popup message.

  HVR-2250 IR blaster problem
Posted by: dspdrew - 2010-01-24, 08:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I am having a lot of trouble getting the IR blaster to work with my HVR-2250. Does anybody have an HVR-2250 working with the IR blaster that comes with it. Mine came with one blaster with the receiver attached to it with an 1/8 inch jack that plugs into the card itself, and the other blaster alone with an 1/8 inch jack also.

I have tried using this blastcfg program, but this gives me no options at all like any of the instructions say you get. Everything I try to select, like region, or vendor/model only says "learning" in the dropdown menu and nothing else. When I try to learn from my STB's remote, all I get when pressing the button I want to learn is it telling me to release the button, not "press and hold button" like they say it should tell me at first. This does not seem to be working right, and does not respond to anything I do.

I have also tried this Hip program, but I have no clue if my remote is v1 or v2, or I dont know if that even matters when Im just trying to get the IR blaster to work. I tried this anyways and when trying to learn from the STB's remote with this configuration utility, it flashes on the screen "tap the key on the remote you wish to learn" for a split second and then goes straight to a message saying "an error or timeout occurred Do you wish to try again?". It will not do anything else, so I doubt this is working right either.

Every tutorial I find only has a small part of what I need, and most of what I see if completely different than what they are seeing. Does anyone else have the HVR-2250 and this blaster working? Can anyone direct me to a tutorial or something that will explain a little more to me. I guess one of the main problems is I dont really even know if this blaster is an MCE or haupauge blaster.

No Video (Audio works fine) From Xcard with GBPVR
Posted by: GBPVR User - 2010-01-24, 08:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Could someone help with the following problem. I used TVedia with WIN TV PVR 500, Sigma-Designs Xcard on a HP DC 5100 and everything worked fine.

I now installed GBPVR (1.4.7) on the same HP DC 5100 (OS XP), I am able to record tv programs. I am able to play DVD and recorded tv programs on the HP DC 5100 using a VGA monitor.

The problem however is that I have audio but don't have video on my TV (I am using the TV-out on the Xcard). Could someone help me to get the Xcard working with my TV. I read something about filters en codecs but I don't know what to do.
