I did my first test with GB-PVR for recording Lost last night and then auto-converting it to xvid. It went into the recordings section ins PVRX2, and it shows it is ready. But I can't find it anywhere.
The recording directory is set to "I:\PVR\Temp", I went there and saw a "Lost" folder. But that folder is empty. I did have the GB-PVR's Auto-Covert to xvid turned on. However, "Delete Original File After Co version" is NOT checked. So the mpg file should be still there. Also, where does the converted xvid file supposed to go to?
I have looked through the logs directory and seems like there was .mpg file it created. But it has disappeared. Wonder if Auto-Covert isn't working quite right?
I will try turning off Auto-Convert and see what I get next time.
I don't know if its possible, but I would like to do the following:
My computer with GB-PVR is in my basement. Wired up and recoding.
I watch the recordings upstairs via a Popcorn Hour.
I usually have a laptop available next to me upstairs.
Just wondering if there's a way to use the laptop to surf TV guide channels and select recordings for the basement PC?
Trying to do this the easiest way possible for my wife.
I'm using a serial IRBlaster with WinLIRC to control a Motorola 2244 cable box. I have a script that changes channnels, and it works great. The problem I'm having is controlling the power-on of the cable box. Is there any way to send a signal that turns on the power (and doesn't turn off the box if it is already on?) In other words, I have no idea of knowing if the box is on or not. Anyone have any clever solutions?
I am having trouble with my Compro T300 and from another thread gather that a solution/fix involves getting hold of the file scan.cache from someone who has successfully tuned in to the same transmitter. You don't have to have the same card (you won't have!)
So if you are pointing at the Bromsgrove (UK MIdlands area) and can let me have a copy of your scan.cache I would be most grateful.
All my recordings have narrow black bars on each side. I'm not talking about the bars you get when you watch a 4:3 recording in a 16:9 window.
Some media players let you zoom in in tiny steps, and that gets rid of it, but most video players won't do this.
Is there a way to have GBPVR record a little zoomed in, or is there another fix for it. It's not a big deal, but if it is easy to fix, I'd like to do it.
OK, I'm at my wit's end. First day ever with a TV card and PVGBR, so total newbie.
I've just spent way too long (the last 7 hours!) trying to get this thing working, and would really appreciate anybody willing to help me through this :o
ATM, I'm stuck on having video, but no sound on LiveTV.
Here's my setup:
UHF rooftop aerial pointing to Mt KauKau, Wellington, NZ; Hauppauge HVR-4000 (Freeview/DVB-T only atm);
WinXP sp3; AMD 4000+; GeForce 8600GT; All latest drivers; SPDIF out;
My existing video library is in XVid(Handbrake encoded) and h.264(Nero-encoded) SD format, mostly in MP4 and AVI containers. I've always used VLC for playback, so no codecs installed on my system prior to GBPVR.
This evening, along the way, I've installed:
Latest HVR4000 drivers and WinTV7.
Latest GBPVR.
Haali Media Splitter & FFDShow (needed both so my vids would play in WMP)
Cyberlink PowerDVD 7
MPV Decoder
AC3Filter
Mpeg2DecFilter.ax
mmaacd.ax (Morgan AAC decoder)
I've recorded a program with GBPVR and it saved as a .TS file. This plays back fine in VLC and the audio plays back fine.
Most of the receiving channels appear to be in h.264 format with VLC telling me that the audio for that saved .TS file was mp4a at 48000Hz with an AAC extension of SBR.
So I think the missing link is in the audio codec settings somewhere, but I can't seem to find the right combination. I don't really know what I'm doing and it's hit and miss. But all miss, so far.
I don't get any sound OR video, in Hauppauge's WinTV application.
Hi have this card installed in windows 7 x64. I have my cable hooked to the analog input and antenna hooked to digital input. I have everything working. But when I'm recording something off the digital I cannot watch the analog input. It says tuner busy. I ran filtercheck and here is the output. The Diamond box says you can record and watch at the same time. Thanks

I had it set up to record 2 shows, via the manual recording.
Each for 1 hour.
The first one quit for some unknown reason, and make a 8MB file that isn't playable at all.
The 2nd one worked fine.
Which log file(s) will tell me the reason for the failure?
I did a quick scan of them and didn't notice anything wrong on first glance.
I wasn't around, so I don't know why it failed.
I'm trying to set up a newer Asus card with my Hauppage 1600. Its a EHC3 - 150. I'm hoping someone can help me with this one. Here is what I have so far.

I'm also including some of the log files as well.
I do get an error in the Config app when I save the newer setup with the new tuner card. I get a Device driver not found error, but I'm sure thats in the logs somewhere. I think its the crossbar.
Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, I looked for a while and couldn't find the answer
I'd like to start running comclean on my recordings, I am currently running comskip during recording (from GBPVR config). Does GBPVR wait for comskip to finish before starting postprocessing, so I can just add a "call comclean" line to postprocessing.bat? If not I guess I Will do the comskip after recording inside postprocessing.bat
