  Pending list gradually runs out
Posted by: xcivic5 - 2010-01-23, 04:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have used the latest version for some time and have been happy with everything about it except one major problem: My pending list runs out after about 10 days. I constantly have to delete and reenter all reccurring programs. I've played with numerous settings including the EPG update (which is now turned off) to no avail. This also happened in the previous version. This latest version worked for about two months and then the problem started occurring and has been ongoing now for several months. Anybody got any ideas?

  New user - EPG setup and other setup problems
Posted by: unseengundam - 2010-01-23, 03:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I am new user and was hoping for one (or maybe few) click setup for using GB-PVR for mine HD Homerun. However, setup has been very time consuming and I am still running in the to errors and issues.

First issues, I can't get the EPG to work as I want to and the channel mapping is time consuming. I managed to use mc2xml to get me "some" EPG data for my OTA Tuner. However, I think I am missing channels and they are all number weirdly. Then the Channel Mapping is taking quite while since I have tons of over the air channel. Isn't there any way to automate channel mapping?? :confused:

Also, I actually prefer to map OTA Channels to EPG instead of reverse. The EPG Channel number are different and confusing. Renaming all of them would take time, not to mention I am missing few channels in the EPG. I can't seem to change the EPG channel number either. Some editing that doesn't work???

I finally decided to try Schedule Direct and recreated an account there. But, I can't login to it to get the data from GB-PVR. It gave some sort of 500 - Internal Server error.

Also, isn't there a good free EPG? I really want to just watch the TV from GB-PVR like you would in real TV with the option of recording. You know, kind like a VCR used to work? However, it taking too long to setup. Maybe, I will try some other software and see how they go... Sad

  ProVideo / Imavision
Posted by: kyle_kyle_p - 2010-01-23, 01:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Around 2 years ago I bought this Imavision / Provideo PCI DVR card. I ment to hook up security cameras & it said it could do that. So I got it. Now.... that i have something (got a wireless set of security cameras that go to this little wireless boxt which then outputs to a/v television).

I took some a/v to bnc connectors and hooked them up, plugged it in.. and vuala... noth'n. But it works directly to the televsions. I just don't want to record via VCR. So my question is... what in the world can I use with this current DVR Card to record & why don't I get audio or video using this card in my pc?

Here's what's in it
Pico 10004 Imavision Audio capture (drivers found 8/5/01)
ProVideo, PV-957 WDM Crossbar (drivers found 9/24/04)
ProVideo, PV-957 WDM TvTuner (drivers found 10/6/04)
ProVideo, PV-957 WDM Video Capture (drivers found 10/6/04)

I'd appreciate any help as i'm new to the security camera/dvr recording world... but pretty interested in it

  gb-pvr renderer stop&go when using mouse or keyboard
Posted by: feniks - 2010-01-22, 10:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi people,

have anyone ever encountered problem with GB-PVR which start to "shudder" both video and audio when gb-pvr window is focused on and keyboard or mouse are at use.

things like moving mouse or scrolling will cause it to shudder.
using keyboard arrows to shift channels or change volume will make it to shudder.

OS: Vista x64 SP2
nvidia GTX 275 SLI video cards
Realtek HD audio (integrated on evga 790 Ultra SLI board)
Logitech cordless mouse
Hauppauge HVR-1800 PCI-E TV card (digital input and QAM)
gb-pvr ver: 1.4.7
renderer: EVR
decoders: nvidia purevideo video & audio
audio renderer: realtek audio speakers

when i change video renderer to VRM9 Custom then only mouse scroll causes stops and goes in gb-pvr. keyboard or moving a mouse have no effect.

  Reconnect network drive on wakeup
Posted by: kojak - 2010-01-22, 09:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I like to record directly to my NAS which usually works pretty good. However when the computer wakes up from sleep mode it does not have enough time to reconnect the network drives before the recording begins. So the question is: Can i make GB-PVR wake up a minute or two before it actually starts recording anything ?

  MDAPIfilter doesn't work properly - DLL_PROCESS_DETACH by FreeLibrary call
Posted by: riksdaler - 2010-01-22, 08:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

After happily using GBPVR with MDAPIfilter and Acamd for six months I now face a problem I hope someone can help me (and maybe others) to solve. I ran the NMTInstall program in order to interface GBPVR from a PopcornHour A-110, this works fine for me as well as running GBPVR on the PC after the installation.

However, MDAPIfilter stopped to work for me. When I ran NMTInstall.exe I was stupid enough to let the program reinstall GBPVR as well :-( If I remember correctly I had the same version before as now (1.4.7)

I now face these two problems:

1) MDAPIfilter needs to be manually registered on the command line to run (regsvr32 /s mdapifilter.ax), it then works only one time in GBPVR, then I need to manually stop the recording service, register, and restart to get it to start.

2) MDAPIfilter newer starts ACamd. The only log entries in the MDAPIfilter.log are:
...[INFO] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter:Big GrinllMain->DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH
...[INFO] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter:Big GrinllMain() MDAPIFilter being used by GBPVR
...[INFO] [MAIN] DllRegisterServer()
...[WARN] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter:Big GrinllMain->DLL_PROCESS_DETACH by FreeLibrary call.

Anyone has any clue what could be wrong? I found one old thread in this forum that potentially could be related:

Windows XP MCE SP3
Intel Core2 6400, 2.13 GHz, 2 GB RAM

  DNTV Live! Hybrid LP S2
Posted by: PdeG - 2010-01-22, 09:52 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

HI.

I have 3 of these cards in my PC and I have inserted this entry in the
bda.ini file

[DNTV Hybrid LP S2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER="713x BDA DVBT Tuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="713x BDA Digital Capture"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Unfortunately my scan does not seem to find any channels.

Does anybody have any suggestions ?

Log files and filtercheck.log (zipped) attached.

I have another of these cards at home, and I will try there also, and
see how I go.

TIA
Peter

  HDHomeRun introduces VCT injection
Posted by: whurlston - 2010-01-22, 04:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

The guys at Silicondust have done it again. With the release of the 20100120beta1 drivers, they have added TVCT and CVCT injection into the streams. This means that QAM users will now get the channel names when scanning with the HDHomeRun whether their cable provider has it or not. You need to have run the HDHomeRun channel mapping in the HDHomeRun Setup for it to work.

To enable the feature, run HDHomeRun setup and click the Advanced tab. Under "BDA Driver", select "Inject CVCT". OTA users or users running in ATSC Remap mode would select "TVCT" although I see no reason to do this for OTA.

Unfortunately, it still does not solve the crash while scanning issue.

  Volume too low
Posted by: ricksaint - 2010-01-22, 02:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (21)

I was using Windows Media Center (Windows 7) with my Hauppauge PVR2-USB, but I want to switch to GBPVR 1.4.7 for the following reasons: the GBPVR image quality is much better, I can get all the available channels and the recordings take up half as much space as WMC.

However the volume is way too low. To have an adequate volume, I have to raise the main volume of the computer, and then everything else is too loud.

Is there a way to fix that?
