  Kodi Nexus 2.0
Posted by: mvallevand - 2022-12-13, 01:26 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (7)

Now that Nexus 2.0 RC is out with the full release to follow, I should note that pvr.nextpvr no longer supports NextPVR v4.   As a result be aware when upgrading that there is no downgrade path, you would need to uninstall and reinstall the old version.    This would include distributions like LibreElec 11 and CoreElec 20 with are built around Nexus.

I have continued to upgrade Matrix and sub did merge in the final version for it last week, AFAIK there are no outstanding issues, although Nexus does offer a few improvements over Matrix.   The older Leia version hasn't been supported for a few years but I do still see people using it, so running older versions is only "bad" if it doesn't meet your needs or if you encounter specific bugs.

Note that due to issues with the upgrade function in Kodi,  if you want to install RC1 over Matrix you will probably need to delete pvr.nextpvr from Kodi and doing a fresh install.

Also for people installing the nightly build it has now switch to v21 which seems to be named Omega. It will no doubt start deviating from Nexus soon.

Question nextPVR playing atsc 3.0 using HDHomerun 4k
Posted by: gar747 - 2022-12-12, 06:59 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

I have tried to read all of the posts relating using NextPVR to playback ATSC 3.0 channels and am so confused as to whether this is possible or not.
I have the latest software for the HDHomerun tuner and have installed the latest HDHomerun windows app, and that works fine to playback all of the ATSC 3.0 channels (video and audio) so I know the hardware is ok.  It is just that the HDHomerun app interface is less than ideal.
So, I have installed the latest version of NextPVR  windows client 6.1.1 and leaving all the defaults as is it will not playback the 3.0 channels i.e., no video or audio.  Someone recommended downloading the LAV decoders so I did that, and changed the NextPVR decoders page to use the LAV decoders but still nothing. I also looked at the lav decoder properties page with all the various settings but that is above my paygrade...   So, can anyone tell me the steps I need to do to get video and audio working in NextPvr to playback ATSC 3.0 channels?
Thanks, Gary

Unable to login to Schedules Direct.
Posted by: rob48173 - 2022-12-12, 02:30 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

What's happening:
Go to 'Settings', 'Guide', 'Add SD Channel Lineup' 48044 is the zip code, North America, United States. Click on search button and nothing happens.
Presented the nrecord.log to SD and response from Robert Kulagowski via RT <rt@schedulesdirect.org> was "I'm pretty sure that I was told that the error that's coming up from Newtonsoft was due to a programming error in NextPVR."

Some background info:
I am using T-Mobile Wireless as my internet provider since July of this year.
I noticed SD not updating around Dec 1.
I uninstalled NextPVR using option Uninstall Everything.
Removed all references to NextPVR as much as I can find.
Restarted the computer (it is running Windows 10)
Went to https://www.nextpvr.com/download.html and installed Windows version of NextPVR.
Run ipconfig/flushdns
Installation and setup went very smoothly except I still am unable to update EPG from SD.
Help.
Logs attached.

Unable to access tuner after hibernation
Posted by: bm_00 - 2022-12-12, 01:45 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

First, I apologize as I feel this has most likely been answered before.

I currently am running NextPVR version 4.2.5 (191014). Am running version 4 rather then 5 or 6 as I rely heavily on an analog tuner.  I  have a Hauppauge 1265 (1196) tuner for analog NTSC and a Hauppauge DualHD for ATSC.  I use Kodi as a frontend on the same machine as NextPVR, running Windows 10. I will refer to it as the main machine.  Everything has been working fine.

I recently set the main machine to hibernate rather then shutdown as it has begun to be used more. This works fine as machine has been hibernating & waking up for recordings when needed.  The problem is recently it has stopped being able to capture a TV stream when woken from hibernation. You select a channel to be watched (on either tuner) in Kodi and it times out failing to play. Doesn't matter if tried to access on same machine or remotely.   If the channel is tried in NextPVR the program stops responding and eventually times out.  Restarting the recording service does not fix this.  If I reboot the computer everything works fine again.

Windows is set to never turn off the USB tuner to save power & the PCI Link State power management is off.  Fast startup is disabled.

Attached are the log files. They should include everything running as normal & trying to access a stream after waking up.

Thanks

  Tablo Guide Information
Posted by: kevin-pvr - 2022-12-11, 09:58 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

I used the Extra that was created by Martin.  It is installed and it is working fine.

The Tablo I have has a guide subscription.  Is it possible to extract or port the guide information over to NextPVR?

  Config File
Posted by: kevin-pvr - 2022-12-11, 06:53 PM - Forum: Linux - Replies (8)

Where is the config file for the WEB app in linux?

I am playing back video from the WEB interface localhost:8866/player.html not the uiclient localhost:8866/uiclient.html

I want to change the skip ahead and skip back times.  The WEB interface appears to have a skip forward of about 2 minutes and no skip back.  This is by clicking on the FF icon.  Right arrow keys don't work for me in that interface.

Is there a config file to change these?

I found a config file in /opt/nextpvr/system/data called Config-master-don't-edit.xml.  I assume this is for the uiclient.

Edit, okay I found this directory with the config.xml file /var/opt/nextpvr. I still assume this is for the uiclient and not the WEB interface.

I am trying to use the WEB interface as I get choppy video when using the uiclient (but I will start another thread for that later).

Thanks,
Kevin

  Help cleaning up database
Posted by: Jakesty - 2022-12-10, 08:39 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (8)

Hello.  I have a problem where the system is very slow to respond.  Especially in the Web App.  One problem I know of is that the database has a lot of references to files which are no longer there.  They have been removed/deleted elsewhere and the DB doesn't know about them.  Is there a way to clean up what's in there to what I have?  If not really a good solution, can I just stop services and delete the DB as a last ditch effort?

thanks, Jake

Possible to filter channels to KODI but have them in NextPVR?
Posted by: markosjal - 2022-12-10, 08:30 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (3)

I am now running V6.1.1.221106 on Raspberry Pi 3b+ (upgraded minutes ago) and all clients are Kodi 19 on Libreelec.

Since I have now found that most streams are far less problematic without running them through NextPVR , and playing on IPTVSimple Client

I would like to keep many streams on nextPVR however for purposes of recording but NOT expose them to the Kodi clients . In that way I think I can use the web interface to record any stream on NextPVR, but streams will load directly (without nextPVR)  on IPTVSimple client on Kodi.

I would like to keep the channels from my old HD Homerun exposed to Kodi by way of NextPVR.

I think I can manually edit channels out on each Kodi system but that would need to be done on each system , so is kind of a pain.

is there a way to ONLY expose a limited subset of the (from HDHomerun) channels to Kodi while actually having more channels On NextPVR that are hidden from kodi?

Clearly it would be better if I could get smoother streaming out of nextPVR then I would not have to make such a work-around

Question Editing recordings and internal database
Posted by: Bobthegoldfish - 2022-12-10, 02:58 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

Hello,
If I have recorded a program and I then edit that recording (to cut out commercials, etc.) are there any issues I need to be aware of?

Is there any kind of rescan needed or does it otherwise need to be made aware of the change in file size or length?

Thanks
