HD .ts files and audio description
Posted by: Bobins - 2010-01-07, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

As the BBC has started broadcasting more and more in HD, I've started recording more in HD (especially over Christmas). I want to keep several of the recordings and as they will often be played back on the MVPs, I usually convert from .ts to .mpg format before archiving.

With a standard .ts file I have no problem with this but when it's a HD file the "audio description" (for partially sighted people) gets imposed on top of the normal sound. This extra audio doesn't playback when I use GBPVR to play the .ts file but it does appear if I use Windows Media Player (in Windows 7). Every conversion programme I've tried doesn't allow me to disable this extra audio.

Has anyone any ideas how I can convert the HD .ts file to .mpg and omit the extra "audio description" stream?

first time recording - 0 length file
Posted by: Esteban - 2010-01-07, 07:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I'm a first time user and I can't get recordings to play. Probably because nothing is being recorded, though all seems well during the recording and there are no errors suggesting otherwise. The recording files are shown in C:\Temp but are 0 bytes. I've searched the forum and see others have had 0 byte issues with the new version. Perhaps I have the same problem, but I thought I should start a new thread since being a newbie, I have very little understanding of what I'm doing, and I might just be overlooking something basic.

I'm running Windows 7, GB-PVR version is 1.4.7, and my 2 tuners are SD-HDHR. I've attached the log files.

I'm having other issues with the EPG and channel mapping (the channels keep multiplying and repeating with different numbers), but I don't think these are related to the no recording issue. I'm using mc2xml to get the microsoft EPG for OTA digital broadcasts.

I'll post separately about the EPG once I get past the no recording hurdle.

Thanks for the forum.
Esteban

Picture through Tuner has poor colour
Posted by: yakuzah - 2010-01-07, 03:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi all, just discovered this software and thought it would be perfect form my Home Cinema solution. However, I have hit a small problem with the Television picture through my Hauppauge 2200 Card.

All the channels and picture are blue??! So everyone looks like they have sat in a Freezer for a few weeks. All skin tones are blue and lips are blue etc.

Is there a way I can adjust this or is this an incompatibility with software and card?

thanks in advance

Yakuzah

Would someone please do this quick test before I RMA my A-110?
Posted by: zaldwaik - 2010-01-07, 02:19 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (14)

I have already posted this on the NMT forum but this forum seems to be much more responsive. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I purchased my A-110 last month and have been experiencing the issue below. Thankfully PCH is offering a replacement. I am trying to decide whether this issue is unique to my unit, or all units. I am running the latest firmware.

My 110 uses a wired LAN and frequently stops playing mkv files and requires a reboot (trying to play shows the last frame, and then exists). It is annoying because it is in my living room. It is random, but when it happens, it continues for a whole day. Other times it runs fine. The fix is to reboot.

I can reproduce the problem by removing the network cable from PCH during playback. But my LAN is solid and I do not believe the network is the problem, even though the only way I can generate the problem is to disconnect the LAN. Playback same file from USB drive is fine. I already tried a different network cable and switch. I suspect it may have a defective NIC.

The simple test I am asking a volunteer to do is simply to pull the Ethernet cable from PCH while it is playing back a video file from a network share (smb preferred). The expected behavior is that it will continue to play for a couple of seconds and then stop. Now, reconnect, and ensure that you have network connectivity (browsing shares etc). Try to playback the same file and some other file and see what happens. In my case, the PCH shows the last frame, then quits.

I would greatly appreciate if some one can do this simple test for me.

No channels on Terratec Cinergy HTC USB XS DVB-C
Posted by: mschrenk - 2010-01-07, 01:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi,

I have been using GBPVR very succesfull with Hauppauge PVR 150 card.

No, having DVB-C I switched to Cinergy USB device. Unfortunately config.exe does not find any channels no matter which ini file I use. I uninstalled GBPVR, cleaned all files and did a fresh install. Still no success.

Terratec Home Cinema finds all channels, reporting 96% signal strength and 100% signal quality.

Attached please find some files from my configuration and a pdf file from my DVB-C provider.

Hope you can help and give me a hint how to find my TV and radio channels.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Michael

GBPVR as a back end recorder only
Posted by: jhoro - 2010-01-07, 07:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Is it possible to run GBPVR similar to a MythTV back-end?

I have Windows Home Server that does not have video card. I'd like to use it to run GBPVR to record shows from an HDHomeRun tuner to a folder and than watch them later with a WDTV player. The problem is that I cannot start PVRX2 with any of the available Video Renderers.

Appreciate your help.

  Config.xml saving
Posted by: mvallevand - 2010-01-07, 06:06 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (6)

When I hit OK to exit Config.exe I am noting that the changes I make in the Plugins /settings/PluginSettings/MusicLibrary section are being reverted. If I hit cancel the changes are kept. Does GBPVR overwrite this section?

Note the section name is MusicLibrary the plugin name is MusicLibrary3 if that makes a difference.

  NZ DVB-S Aus channels
Posted by: Jaggy - 2010-01-07, 04:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I got an email today:

Australian Channel 9 , 9HD and GO! have all started FTA on Optus D1
12519 V sr 16670 Fec 3/4

Dual beam Aus+NZ

Has anyone had a play at getting them yet? When I did a scan it found them but now when I try to watch them all I get is no lock - strength:10000 quality:0 & it is a tad tooooooo windy at the moment for me to get up on the roof to tweak my dish to see if it is out of alignment......so it would be nice to know that they were actually able to be received before I start tweaking.

Crash when running pvxr2 to import xml file
Posted by: carpeVideo - 2010-01-07, 02:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

This has been happening for quite a while - when I run pvxr2.exe command line to import an xml file of recordings I get this error over and over in the log file - it never manages to complete the import.

Quote:2010-01-06 18:59:43.167 ERROR [1] Failed to locate requested recording source: GraphRecorder.GraphRecorderConfig
2010-01-06 18:59:43.167 ERROR [1] Error int SourceConfigurationContainer::LoadAll(): System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

2010-01-06 18:59:43.167 ERROR [1] Value cannot be null.

pvxr2 and graph recorder play together fine in non-command line mode as it does with the config program. So I am not sure why a) its looking for the config and b) why it needs it and c) why it only crashes during the command line import but its fine otherwise

I have attached 2 logs - the first in normal operation and the second is with the command line crash.

Thanks,
CV
