Re my post in the wrong thread...

I use the /sb option all the time - what I would like is a batch option to
a) embed
b) create the external .xml file
c) create the external _export.xml file
all in one pass...

"Record until end of Current Program" with padding
Posted by: speising - 2010-01-06, 09:50 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

"Record until end of Current Program" does stop at the exact scheduled time. it would be nice if it would respect the default padding after (or even configureable)

Possible problem with decoding of encrypted dvb file
Posted by: OrakelJos - 2010-01-06, 09:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Sometimes I have the problem that a a recorded show from an encrypted channel cannot played back. It just seems to go on high speed through the TS file. The file size looks o.k. After testing the TS output with the PVAstrumento program it came with this log:

***
*** PVAStrumento 2.1.0.22
*** running at 01-06-2010 22:14
***

Pre-Scanning input. May take some time.

Packet found tagged "SCRAMBLED".
Trying to process packets anyway.

Stream info for
E:\MyPVR\Little house on the Prairie\Little house on the Prairie_20100106_17051800.ts

Found 1 video stream.
Found 1 MPEG audio stream.

VIDEO #1, PID 0xdd
ALERT> No sequence header found for info.
MPEG AUDIO #1, PID 0xde
ALERT> No audio frame (mpa) found. ("WHAT ??")

PIDs in TS
PAT: found
TSID: 0x1
PMTID: 0xdc
VPID: 0xdd
APID[1]: 0xde
TXTID: 0xea

** these pids were found but it doesnot denote
** that all content are really available!

==SCANNING==
Input: E:\MyPVR\Little house on the Prairie\Little house on the Prairie_20100106_17051800.ts
ALERT> Cannot sync. Not enough data.
Last fileset:
0 total bytes read

Sync estimate at EOF:
MPEG Audio #1 : sync

Needed time for the job (hh.mm.ss)

(Autosaving log to E:\MyPVR\Little house on the Prairie\Little house on the Prairie_20100106_17051800.ts.txt)

It seems that the stream was not decrypted.
At the moment I am using one Technotrend 1501C DVB-C card with CI and an Alphacrypt Classic CAM with the original smartcard from the cable provider. Multirecord support is NOT enabled and this behaviour is not consistent. This is the second time this happened in about two weeks.
The log does not show anything unusual (as far as I can see) at the moment of the recording.

Sync recordings db with file system?
Posted by: Barsk - 2010-01-06, 02:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hi!

I seem to remember that gbpvr automatically synced with the recordings, i.e if you remove recordings on the file system gb-pvr's database should sync up with that. It does not now for me... Those recodings have no play button, only a delete.

Bug in processing of FLAC and ogg files in 1.4.7?
Posted by: pz1 - 2010-01-06, 09:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

While testing the ML3 Beta on the MediaMVP we came to the conclusion that it looks like there is a bug in GBPVR processing of FLAC and ogg files in 1.4.7. It seems not to respect the TransCode options (see discussion ML3 Nighly post #123) As this also affects the default Music Library, I decided to mention the problem here.

  Best cost/benefit AGP Video Card?
Posted by: Atrus - 2010-01-06, 03:35 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

piggybacking off another thread that I had posted but have additional questions....

I have the following hardware:
Athlon T-Bird 1.4GHz (May soon upgrade to an XP2500+ or other if needed)
Biostar M7VIG400
768mb RAM (1-256 stick, 1-512 stick) PC2700
ATI Sapphire Radeon 9000PRO 128mb video card (but soon to go!:madSmile
Hauppauge HVR-1600
Old School 32" tube TV with component (RGB) in

Running WinXP SP3

I am VERY inexperienced with this, and am pulling my hair out trying to get good drivers/encoders/decoders/codec/whatever I need. So, I am looking to buy something that gives me the most assurance that it'll work with the least headache.

I am having the following 2 issues with my current setup -

1 - Just got in my DVI-to-component cable, but all I don't get a recognizable picture. Lots of cyan colors, and in some instances (such as the XP bootup screen showing "starting windows") I can barely make out the display, but it's horrible. There are three vertical bands showing the startup screen as well. To clarify, I am not talking about a fuzzy picture, I am talking 99% unrecognizable picture. I putcahsed a cheap cable found HERE. I rushed to get it, and didn't really think...is this not working with my antique TV because it's not a HDTV? I figured component input is component input. I am running the latest Catalyst (6.something) off of the ATI site.

2 - when watching live TV, if I pull up the guide at the bottom of the screen video gets really choppy and CPU maxes out. Otherwise, CPU while watching live TV is about 40%. Side note that I downloaded and installed a trial of SageTV, and using default settings (Sage decoder) I don't get any jumpiness with guides there. Other than the guide jumpiness in gbpvr, everything seems smooth and I am pleased. I like gvpvr MUCH better than Sage, so I'd really like to have it working well.

So, my question to you...given that my motherboard has a few PCI (not PCI-E) and an AGP slot, what is the best (AGP or PCI) video card (new or used) that I can buy that is cost/benefit balanced? I'm looking for something with known drivers/codecs/encoders/decoders/whatever I need to have it work with my setup. Also, need to hook to component or 4-pin S-Video on the TV. Looking to go to a flat panel later this year, but don't need this box to run HD (I know my processor/motherboard probably can't handle HD anyway).

  SpamAssassin users
Posted by: whurlston - 2010-01-06, 01:58 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

If anyone is running a server that uses SpamAssasin, you may want to double check your rules. I found an issue where any emails received in this new year were automatically given a spam score of 3.2 which they did not previously have. This caused legitimate emails to get caught in my spam trap.

There is a rule that checks to see if the date on the email is 2010 (which it now is) or later. The rule can be found in 72_active.cf if you are running a standard configuration:

Code:
##{ FH_DATE_PAST_20XX header FH_DATE_PAST_20XX Date =~ /20[[color=Red][B]1-9[/B][/color]][0-9]/ [if-unset: 2006] describe FH_DATE_PAST_20XX The date is grossly in the future. ##} FH_DATE_PAST_20XX

If you change the portion in red to "2-9" it will then check for emails dated 2010 or newer instead.

Odd problem - wrong channels playing?
Posted by: mrspaces - 2010-01-05, 09:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

Not really a request for support as I will wipe everything and reinstall, but all of a sudden I am getting a strange problem.

Just had BBC1 (1) on then went back to EPG guide and selected BBC News 24 (80)... but BBC played again instead. Went back to the guide and tried again but the same thing happened. It even happened when manually entering the channel number (ie) 80.

Then went back to BBC 1 and tried BBC News 24 again and this time the correct channel came on.

Wierd.

regards.
mrspaces.
