Recordings and video library list the sub-directories alphabetically. It would be nice if you could scroll through other list-by or sort-by regimes, such as size and date.

When scrolling page by page within my folders I find that sometimes it will respond properly to multiple key presses, and other times it will continue to the very end of my folder. In other words...

Press once, scrolls one page
Press twice, usually scrolls two pages
Press three times, sometimes scrolls 3 pages, sometimes all the way to end (about 20 pages)

This is within any of my folders (music, movies, etc) and I am using a MCE receiver with both a DirecTv remote and a Harmony (tried both to verify a key wasn't sticking). I usually just avoid scrolling to keep this from occuring, but I am sure if it is an issue there is an answer/fix, I just havent found it yet.

I realize that I am a new poster, but I have been running GBPVR since 07 and this is the one thing I haven't been able to find an answer to. I have just built a new machine and I am going over all the annoyances I have had trying to get them ironed out finally Thanks in advance!

I'm a newbie at GBPVR but have been enjoying the tool a lot recently :-)

I am using a Haupauge card to record FreeSat - it works well - but the resulting .TS files are difficult to navigate because they never show the correct position with VLC.

Is there a tool I can use to correct this? Or perhaps a GBPVR setting to add the codes at record time?

Also can anyone recommend a tool to let me edit these .TS files? I tried HDTVtoMPEG but the results were unviewable (frozen pictures and no audio).

I run in VMR9 FSE mode otherwise i get picture tearing.

This is normally fine with no problems but recently a couple of downloaded xvids would not playback properly. Sound was ok but the picture was flashing about 3-4 times/second. Switching playback to VMR9 custom stopped the flashing but the tearing problem came back.

I've got hundreds of xvids which play perfectly except for 2 or 3 that won't in fse.

Has anyone any ideas what the problem is or how to troubleshoot it?

I would just like to share some of my experiences with GPPVR.

I'm not new to GBPVR (been using it for around 3 years now) but new the forum.

Firstly GBPVR is awesome! I use it all the time for recording, live TV, music and videos.

I started of with a Athlon 64 rig (made up of left overs) just as a bit of experiment, it went well, so well in fact I donated it to my parents a year ago and they use it for all their recording needs, they especially like being able to watch recordings etc. in other rooms of their house, although it not work atm but thats another story!

I now have a more bespoke system based around a Althon x2 and 780g combo and somehow managed to stuff it in to Hipermedia slimline case. Thanks to the wiki and the forum I have been able to use the EWA and WOl over internet allowing me to set recording from my mobile which is cool (and useful).

Using the software, project and forum has taught me so much about XP, UK DVB-T, codecs, muxers, demuxers, remotes, MVP etc. and has frustrated me with senarios such as 'VMR9 not supported'after wakeup, UK DVB-T retunes (still can't get Channel 4 video to work, having to use 4+1 instead) and seemingly random problems even when I haven't been tinkering with anything!

Basically thanks to Sub and many others for a functional, reliable and interesting PVR project.

GBPVR = AWESOME!

Does anyone know if the Pinnacle 800e usb stick is compatible via the composite or s-vid inputs. I know it's listed under the supported BDA devices, but i fear I can't use the s-vid or composite.

I have a Powervu, AFN, decoder and I think I can only utilize it via the composite output. If I'm mistaken and can somehow use the coax and the USB-IR blaster etc...please let me know.

I did something tonight which I've been meaning to do for ages and created a new directory for the main menu that I could drop all my TV related plugins into. Sussed how to get a task image for it but is there a way that I can give a description to it that shows when selecting it like the other plugins do? i.e. Music Library shows description 'Listen to your Music'.

This is my sole remaining problem and it's really bugging me. I can play/ff/pause recorded 264 videos no problem, but when I exit from playing the file, GBPVR crashes and I get dumped back into XP. I can ff to the end of the file, and when playback stops "naturally" at the end of the file, then the problem does not occur.

Other info:
- using CoreAVC, shows CUDA acceleration, CPU usage during playback is around 20%. The files play perfectly.
- other apps play the files without crashing
- recorded OTA HDTV plays perfectly

I've been playing around with the various music plugins (Music, Music Library, and ML3) and found a bunch of my .mp3's don't play audio over the NMT. They play fine from the NMT file share intercface, but not through GBPVR. Are there any constraints on the type of files that get played?

2 files from the same artist different albums (different folder in the same directory)
Plays fine --> MPEG-1 Layer 3 CBR 44100Hz 256 kb/s tot , Stereo
Plays Silence --> MPEG-1 Layer 3 CBR 44100Hz 192 kb/s tot , Stereo
